After years of battling health issues from high blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes to migraines, anxiety and depression, Lissa decided enough was enough. Prayers, research and a dose of courage led her to her first yoga class. She'll tell you it was love at first down dog. Needless to say, she was soon hooked. Her yoga practice became as necessary to her daily life as breathing and transformed her life mentally, physically and spiritually. Four years and one yoga teacher certification (200-hour yoga teacher training) later, Lissa left her 17-year career as a regional design and construction manager with a communications company to pursue a deeper understanding of life and true happiness through her yoga devotion and take time to do some world exploration. Lissa is humbled to share her love of yoga with her students. She delights in the smiles and joyful tears that come when a student fully surrenders and releases into a pose discovering the potential of their body, mind and spirit. I have been practicing and teaching hatha yoga for 23 years. I've had amazing teachers who have taught me a variety of practice styles. I received my teaching certificate from Satchidananda Ashram, Yogaville. I am excellent at combining the integral yoga sequence with kundalini, creating a well-balanced, fun practice that incorporates the breath with postures.
