As this was our first go-around without our mother who ran the best Christmas kitchen ever, we decided to look into catering which then led us to the "private chef" concept offered by Jeffrey Sternberg who owns and operates Rosemary and Thyme Catering. Jeffrey was one of 3 caterers who offered their services through Thumbtack, and right from his online presence, we knew that Jeffrey would be the one who would come through on the home-cooked feel we were seeking. One phone call led to an invitation to his home where we were regaled with samples of his work ... now that is service for you! Planning out the meals was a collaborative effort where we told Jeffrey about all our traditional fare over the 3-day feast with Jeffrey being most accommodating to our habitual dishes but all the while making recommendations here and there which we gladly accepted ... it was a very easy and enjoyable process. Everything was delicious, truly surpassing our expectations. There were even several batches of shortbread made up for our inspection before choosing the version that best matched the type of shortbread we were accustomed to. The cauliflower and celery casseroles were actually better than we had ever made ourselves and the filet roast of beef for the day after Christmas was without a doubt the best we'd ever tasted. If there was any negative to be found, it was simply in that there was way more food prepared for us than we could ever expect to eat ... we froze the leftovers and are still enjoying the odd Jeffrey meal ... talk about getting excellent value for your money! The only exception to the quantity was the gravy that only lasted the one meal of Christmas dinner. And Jeffrey also surprised us with plenty of extras like a 4th appetizer that we had not ordered, dips that we had not ordered for the appetizers, and mayo and mustard spreads for our sandwiches, and the killer was an extra turkey roasted in the oven in case we did not end up being fond of the grilled turkey that he recommended. The one hitch was that the re-heating instructions did not specify "convection" or take into account that all six dishes were to be reheated in the oven simultaneously, so the food was not ready when we were led to believe it would be, but it was well worth the wait in the end because everything was outstanding. Service, service, service ... that is what Jeffrey is all about ... and he really knows what he's doing ... you can just relax or else spend the time you save in the kitchen fretting over more interesting Christmas activities ... I hired “The Dancing Palate” for my boyfriend’s birthday. I wanted to make his birthday special and memorable. Instead of going out to a restaurant, the restaurant came to us! In my first meeting with Chef Paul, he took his time to explain to me the current menu, services and clean up, customizing a menu to my liking, pricing, etc. I have to say that Chef Paul delivered better than I expected! He was prompt to my home, dinner was served on time, did a cooking demonstration and every single course was absolutely delicious! My boyfriend was really impressed! We had the jalapeno bites and meatballs with homemade barbecue pineapple sauce, the braised beef short ribs on a bed of cauliflower and stuff chicken sausage with pasta. For dessert, the chocolate cheesecake with sauce and whipped cream on the side with a mint as a garnish. I highly recommend "The Dancing Palate" to everyone! I am so glad that found them via Thumbtack. The “Dancing Palate” was professional, kind, and very entertaining. I will request their services in the near future.

David was great. We had a wedding rehearsal dinner at the mom of the bride's home. David and his wife showed up a few hours before to make some of the food so it was fresh onsite. We had a delicious chicken parm, veggie lasagna, green beans, and stuffed squash. Everything tasted amazing! David was also great to work with and would respond back promptly. I will definitely remember him for next time

Chef Doug was fabulous to work with and put together an outstanding spread for our dinner party for 19. Maoz cooked a complete buffet-style dinner for ten, including desserts that included two cakes with the names of two people having birthdays written in frosting. The food was excellent! Maoz showed-up on-time and did all he promised! He helped with all aspects of the event, including dishwasher loading and most of the kitchen cleaning. His lamb chops were breaded and enjoyed by all, as was his airline chicken. His asparagus was also perfect. Easy communication, fair price. no fuss, no muss! Thanks Maoz!

I was hosting some friends at my house and decided not to cook and order catered food instead. My brother, who does a lot of catering recommended that I check on Tumbtack. I found a company around my area called First Bite lead by chef owner Jose Andrich. After talking for a bit and letting him know how many people and what kind of cuisines did he offer, which is apparently everything from fine dining to casual cooking. Well me being Cuban and from miami, I decided to opt in for the roast pork shoulder, rice and beans, yuca, and mariquitas. (Which I didn’t order he threw them in on the house) Which was great cause everyone enjoyed them. Not only did First Bite meet my expectations, it exceed them by far. Thanks to Chef Jose and crew for making my event a success. Will definitely be ordering again soon.

What a great experience we had with the food created by Mr. Crespo, It was just as advertised wonderfully prepared. All our guest enjoyed both the sublime fish dish conjured up by Mauricio and well the Beef tenderloin, the salad, roasted vegetables, Caucus and Mascarpone rounded out a very tasty menu. His attention to detail and flavor really impressed us. He is on our go-to list for our next event.

Twisted Pig BBQ catered my wife's birthday party. When I contacted Joe I was impressed that he took notes on what we wanted and came up with a variety of options to fit our budget. Additionally, he followed up prior to the event accommodating some last minute changes. Of course the food was incredible! I am not exaggerating when I say everyone raved on how tasty the BBQ was! Joe even included a couple of extras as a bonus (ask him about the bacon strips and bacon wrapped jalapenos)! When it was time to settle up, ALL was exactly as proposed (no hidden costs). I would (and have) recommended Twisted Pig BBQ! AWESOME!!
