Lewis is SO great to work with!!! The process is challenging itself, but Lewis makes sure to keep you in check - he keeps you accountable, he keeps things as simple as possible and works with you 100% on making things as smooth as possible. He is ALWAYS available, responds quickly to emails, even when taking a vacation makes sure you're left on the right track and still checks up on you to make sure you're doing well. I HIGHLY recommend Lewis as a trainer/coach/nutrition specialist. Not to mention the results are AMAZING!

I have seen other dieticians in the past, but this has been a different experience than any other dietitian or health professional I’ve ever seen before. None of the feeling discouraged about what I’m doing wrong, what I need to give up or avoid, and how I need to do better. I hated counting calories every day. Chris highlights ways to boost my self-esteem, increases my motivation to make the choices I want to make, and helps me feel better about myself and my progress. In short, every appointment with Chris is enlightening. He presents concepts in such a unique way. It offers a whole new awareness that enables me to be much more aware of what I’m doing and why I’m doing it to live an empowered life that makes me feel great.

In the short amount of time that Keisha has been my trainer, she has completely changed my view on trainers. I had previously been skeptical about paying someone to tell me what to do while they sat there and did nothing. I was wrong. A truly great trainer like Keisha is more than just the person telling you what exercises to do. She is a motivator, she holds you accountable, but most importantly she is an educator. She gives you every tool you could possibly need to reach your personal goals, and then shows you how to use them by leading by example. This extends beyond the physical aspect and into the lifestyle changes that are sometimes required. I have learned that nutrition and sleep are just as big a part of getting fit as working out. It is truly amazing the amount of time and personal investment Keisha puts into each client.

Becky Schroeder is one of the most highly motivated and conscientious people I have ever known. She has always been an advocate for healthy eating and rigorous exercise, whether it was dancing, biking, swimming or some other healthful activity. With her winning personality, she is the ideal person to advise, encourage and support anyone who is trying to set and reach their goals. She is my daughter and I believe in her 100%.

I don't believe that there are any better Personal Trainer's or Nutritionist on the entire East Coast! These 2 know exactly what they are doing, and will help you exceed your highest expectations! I am very happy with my results, I used Mike and Terri Vona for a bodybuilding show, for contest preparation. They were wonderful the whole way through the entire process, including show date, and backstage. I won my show, first place in my weight class. It was the first time I had competed in 30 years. I am 56 years old, and they helped me pack on more muscle and strengthen weaknesses in my physique that I did not even know I had until Mike pointed them out. I would highly recommend their services, even if you are just trying to get in great shape. But you Bodybuilder's out there, don't do another show until you talk to these two Professionals!

Joseph was perfectly professional and compassionate in all my interactions with him. He listened to my goals and gave me the tools and guidance to work toward them. And it's all manageable-no crazy restrictions so strict you can't stick with it. His nutritional knowledge is so impressive and there is always the scientific explanation to back up his meal plans. If you are looking to make a lifestyle change, Nutrition Reconditioned will get you there, with support every step of the way.

I was referred to Miss Peters because of my high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and being overweight. I have a work schedule that fluctuates, so my eating habits are not very regular. Miss Peters put me on a very manageable diet that has showed great results over the past 6 months. My cardiologist was very happy with the results and he is hoping with my next check up that he can take me off my blood pressure medicine. I can't thank Miss Peters enough!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
