Introduction: I help my clients get organized via regular, virtual sessions. Together we have organized closets, purged paper and set up filing systems, decluttered kitchens, and more! Here are some of the benefits of virtual organizing:
- It's less invasive.
- You have more control! I see only what you want me to see.
- Since we focus on one area at a time, there is less distraction.
- It works well for people with ADD (we hyperfocus together).
- Since you are physically doing the work yourself, you build sustainable skills and habits much quicker.
- Coaching is integrated with accountability for homework in between (if you want it).
- It's perfect for digital organizing since we can share screens through Zoom.
- The financial commitment is smaller.
- Convenient scheduling.

Are you confused about the differences between coaches, consultants, and counselors/therapists? Here is some clarification:
Consulting:
When I am working as an organizer, I am in the role of a consultant providing expert advice. I make recommendations about what to keep, what to let go of, and how to store and display what is kept. Organizing emphasizes the past, present, and future. We work on improving the functionality of systems and spaces, so you can manage your things, time, and projects. Although licensing and certification are not required, I am a Certified Professional Organizer (NAPO) and hold specialist certificates in Workplace Productivity, Residential Organizing, and Life Transitions.
Counseling/Therapy:
Therapy emphasizes the past, present, and sometimes, the future. Here, the focus is on improving mental health (cognitive and emotional capabilities, functioning in relationships and society, and meeting the demands of everyday life). Therapists have different approaches and specialties. Licensing is required, and psychotherapists are extensively trained before working independently.
Coaching:
Coaching, on the other hand, is a collaborative process and emphasizes the present and future. In this role, I don’t tell you what you should do, but I support you as we explore possibilities, gain perspective and arrive at your own solutions. We start by identifying where you are and exploring your values and goals. Then we work on shifting you to a place of confidence and competence: your potential. We get there through focus and accountability. The process can be a very empowering tool for change. Although licensing and certification are not required, I am in an intensive two-year coaching certification program and expect certification in 2019.
I look forward to helping you clear the clutter, calm the chaos, and bring order to your life!
