Dave helped me change my health, my life and my general outlook in more ways than one. He isn't just an average trainer or an average person, he is one of the most genuine people that I know. Besides pushing me harder than I have ever been pushed to reach my fitness goals, his positive attitude and amazing personality impacted my day every time I saw him. He is extremely knowledgable, he loves what he does and he cares about his clients way beyond the gym. I trained with Dave for 9 months total, lost 20 pounds within 4 months and saw constant change in my body shape. Five stars is an understatement!!!!!

In working with Melissa through the healthy reset program, personal coaching and personal fitness training I learned how to set and achieve goals resulting in major changes in my life. I am healthier, happier and stronger as a result of her unique combination of firm yet gentle insistence on remaining accountable to myself and to my goals. I highly recommend Melissa as a coach and a trainer. I have implemented exercise and nutrition systems into my daily life that are now established habits I look forward to rather than the dreaded chores they used to be. Melissa helped me change my outlook and created the mental shift that was necessary for me to make changes in my life.

I have been very impressed with how Dr. Gampolo runs his practice! Prices are very reasonable and Dr. Gampolo was awesome! During my initial visit with him, he examined my posture (now I’m constantly trying to pull my shoulders back) and my spine. He also spent time getting to know my history, my aches/complaints, and what I wanted out of future visits. I randomly told him about some non-related back pain while we were talking, not expecting any suggestions. Well, he shows me a chart that explains how countless issues with your body actually relate to your spine! (And he wasn’t trying to “sell” me on getting adjustments like other chiropractors have done in the past!) I felt comfortable talking with Dr. Gampolo! I am happy I found my new favorite chiropractor who is so passionate about helping people.

Bridget trained me in individual and group training for 3 years before relocating. From my first day of working out with her she dedicated time with me first and foremost discussing my fitness goals and health background. Each session we had was rigorous and included a full body workout as well as a one on one stretch afterwards. When I pulled a muscle in my back Bridget created an individual rehabilitation plan for me to do and also performed stretches that got me back in full swing in a month when the doctor told me I would be out for 2 weeks! If we lived in the same city she would hands down still be my trainer!

Once you turn 50 you don't have the luxury of not working out. So, you can work out smart or hard. Since working out with Denny I have the energy and quality of life I hadn't felt since my 30s. My wife and I both work out with Denny and realized this is no longer a "want" but a "need". It's not a luxury - hard to put a price on your health and well being.

I've never experienced workouts as intense and effective as the ones Marci custom creates for me. She knows where my problem areas are (both physical and mental) and she focuses on my cardio first, I was focused on strength training and was merely bulking up and all it did was cause.my body pain and made my clothes.tight. I needed to learn stamina and breathing first! Lost some inches right away, too! Marci uses humor and pointed encouragement in order to help push me through the moments when my body and mind want to quit. I need someone to help push me like this, as I have had difficulty following through with weight loss goals in the past. Marci has the knowledge, the experience and the heart for her job. She takes health and fitness very seriously and focuses more on helping me to reach my goals than about her own financial gain. I appreciate that, as I have had a few financial setbacks this year. She was willing to work with me when I had difficulty maintaining the cost of the program, in order to keep improving. I have since caught up and am so grateful she didn't give up on me--I would have had to start completely over, and probably would have not made it back. I have learned to appreciate her mid-week voice mails and encouraging banter. She is truly a friend to her clients and I am much stronger today thanks to her professional commitment to my well-being and overall health. Can't wait to see what she has in store for me next week when we begin to combine strength and conditioning with cardio, also speed and agility exercises! Always new challenges! This girl is the real deal! I definitely recommend her to anyone who has ever made excuses not to get started. Call Marci--she WILL help you reach your goals!

I had been working out and "dieting" on my own for a while and thought I knew what I was doing. I fell into a bit of a funk last year and my health and weight took a drastic turn. I used to kickboxing and run obstacle races and I was to the point of being 50 pounds heavier then the previous year. I opted for both a 2 week detox as well as the 90 day because I really need the help, the direction and the motivation to change what I was doing. I learned a lot about how to diet properly according to my personal goals, plan a workout regiment tailored to myself and also worked on my mental well being. It really did change things around for me, I'm running daily, fasting and doing Keto and I'm down 30 pounds and on my way to my next obstacle race in November

I began working with Suzy West in April of 2014. Her holistic approach in using acupuncture is what drew me to work with Suzy. Over the years, we have worked on many chronic health issues that did not respond to "traditional" treatment - stress headaches, digestive issues, and muscle issues are a few. Suzy is totally focused on her patient, carefully listens to her history, and is fully engaged in the healing. She poses thoughtful questions to clarify all facets of the problem. Working with Suzy has impacted my life and health in a positive way. I have recommended consultations with Suzy to several people for a variety of ailments and would encourage anyone considering acupuncture to schedule an appointment with her. Gayle Young-Monroe

She takes the time to explain "why" and "how" changes in your nutrition will affect you along with detailed heath testing. Functional nutrition leads to functional health and a better overall wellness feeling for life. Nothing is changed overnight but we didn't get unhealthy overnight. Very user friendly experience which leads to easy implementation into everyday life, creating healthy new habits. Her health coaching skills combined with her nutrition knowledge is a priceless solution to a healthier lifestyle.

    About

When was the last time you talked with someone about your health and received the personal attention you deserve? It’s rare for anyone to get an hour to work on their nutrition and goals with a trained professional. As a health coach, I create a supportive environment that will enable you to achieve all of your health goals. I have studied all the major dietary theories and use practical lifestyle coaching methods to guide you in discovering which approach works best for you. Most approaches to nutrition dwell on calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. Instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, I coach my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun, and free of denial and discipline. No one diet works for everyone!

    About

Guruv Yoga & Holistic Health Coaching offers yoga, health coaching, teacher training, group classes and private instruction, which is available to all ages, adult, kids, prenatal and seniors.

    About

I am a USPTA certified tennis coach and BTFA certified personal fitness trainer with over 30 years of experience. For 21 years, I was one of the top tennis and fitness coaches to some of the most well-known celebrities and successful businessmen and woman in California. For the last few years, I've been coaching tennis clinics at the Tennis Academy in Altamonte Springs but have been coaching private sessions in the Longwood and Wekiva area.

    About

My personal training certification required a 500 hour course that included training in nutrition, anatomy and personal training, plus clinical time in the gym to practice different training techniques. Other certifications only require a weekend seminar with very little content, or no practical experience at all.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is a health coach?

A health coach is a service provider you can hire to help you realize your wellness goals. You can hire a health and wellness coach to guide you through life changes, keep you focused on weight loss or fitness goals, help boost your mental health, and more. Many health coaches work with their clients for set periods of time as the client moves toward a measurable goal. Wellness coaches come from varying backgrounds, and may have different areas of focus depending on their education and training. Research potential coaches by reading their reviews, researching their academic and personal backgrounds, and learning about any certifications they have earned from coaching institutes. Often, health and wellness coaches sell coaching packages ranging from three to six months or longer, depending on the client’s needs. The average national cost for an individual health coach session ranges from $60 to $90, although prices may range as low as $30 or up to $130 or more, depending on your location and the coach.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.

What is a holistic wellness coach?

When you want to reach new heights with your health and wellness, consider hiring a holistic wellness coach. Much like a health coach, a holistic wellness coach is focused on your well-being and meets with you in one-on-one sessions to help you identify and reach your targeted goals. A holistic wellness coach will typically have you take all components of your life into account when working to achieve your goals. If your goal is to lose weight, a holistic wellness coach will not only offer recommendations for your diet and exercise, but also discuss your emotional health, your work/life balance, your spiritual side, and each area of your life that affects your ability to follow a nutrition and fitness plan.

Although they are highly motivational and often can help clients achieve great results, holistic wellness coaches are not professional health care providers or registered dietitians. Different institutes and training centers provide certifications for holistic wellness coaching, so be sure to research your coach and read their reviews to understand more about their techniques and training.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
