The owner of the company replied an electric HWH for my daughter and son in law. The job was done very professionally on every sspect. I am a licensed real estate broker and I dealt with a good number of contractors. This contractor impressed. I will definitely use him and?/or recommend him in a flash. By the way he is competitive as well. George E. 732 828 8030 For serious inquiries only.

Having to try to get a plumber, James K. of Clog Kings Plumbing and Drain Cleaning right away got in touch with me. I had applied with Thumbtak. com. James K. fixed the fixture in my toilet tank (9-28-18) and went over what he had done making sure everything was working and I understood what is done. James K. contacted me right away, I could tell by his voice that he was sincere, friendly and I felt his professional manner. I would recommend James K. and Clog Kings Plumbing and Drain company to anyone and I must say- Thumbtak did it again for me as I have used you before. Thank you; you are awesome. Norma Surdi

I am so so grateful I was connected with this company. We just bought our new house and it has been nothing but issue after issue. Our home is amazing and we lucked out on the deal we got. I have come across so many contractors/businesses that over quote me because it looks like we are more well off than we are lol! Chris has been nothing short of amazing, honest and fair. Beyond that he is extremely respectful of ones time and has been overly communicative with updates on his eta. He truly takes pride in his work and cares about fixing the issue without charging a ridiculous amount of money. It is nearly impossible to find people like Chris in the world these days and I HIGHLY recommend him and his service. Thank you!!

Brian worked methodically and with great attention to detail to install a toilet, my tile contractor made a mess off. He had in his truck all needed supplies, including rugs to put the old toilet on etc.. After the job was done he cleaned up thoroughly the entire bathroom. Because of his attention to detail he actually found a leak in a brand new hand shower. Highly recommended plumber.

Completely clogged kitchen sink. Greg showed up on a Saturday night only 1-1/2 hours after initial contact. Got the drain mostly cleared but he's not happy with it and is coming back with needed supplies to fix it right. Wouldn't even let me pay him until he's satisfied that it's done right. Will use this ultra handyman for everything!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What are plumbers and what do they do?

Plumbers are skilled professionals who are trained to install and maintain pipes and systems for drinking water, sewage and drainage. They usually have trained through four- to five-year training programs, which include apprenticeships, via trade schools and community colleges. Plumbers’ areas of expertise typically go beyond pipes to include mathematics, blueprint reading, plumbing codes and water distribution. They handle plumbing emergencies, such as broken pipes or clogged drains, and install and maintain everything from a new piping system to a replacement faucet. Plumbers also know how to install bathtubs and showers, toilets, water heaters and dishwashers. Plumbers may work on residential or commercial sites, sometimes designing and laying out a pipe system during construction.

How do you find a good plumber?

Whether you need a plumber to perform drain repair, install a new fixture, or replace rusty pipes, you need to make sure you hire someone reliable who will finish your job on time and within budget. Start by asking the plumbers on your short list these questions:

  • What is the total cost? Make sure your estimate includes materials and labor. Find out whether the plumber will be providing the materials and whether you’re being charged an hourly rate (which is variable) or a flat fee.
  • Is removal and cleanup included in the job? Some plumbers leave behind old parts, while others include the cleanup in the cost.
  • Is the work guaranteed? Find out whether the work (as well as the parts or fixtures) are guaranteed under a warranty.
