After having my initial event date change, I was worried about hiring a caterer on this site. :/ Actually, our original caterer canceled on us at the last minute, so we gave thumbtack a shot anyway. Chef Jose was quick to reply, and gave us the lowest quote out of the 4 we received. I told him about the bind we were in, and he ultimately told me that that they could make it happen. Chef Jose was easy to talk to and created a list of all of our preferred menu options. Surprisingly enough, he even took note of our favorite restaurants in the area, which I personally think was quite a touch of class. The following morning, Chef Brian called me to inform he had produced 3 menus based on Jose's notes, which appeared in my inbox to discuss. I was beyond amazed as Chef Brian scheduled a tasting at my request the following evening. My son and 2 of his friends, along with my wife and I, arrived to Chef Jose's office and were so impressed as soon as we walked in. The kitchen was all stainless steel, immaculately sanitized, and the tasting area was all set. Chef Brian arranged dish after dish, while Chef Jose described each and gave us a run down of how they would be executed at our event. They even offered us wine and champagne, as well as plenty of treats and items they had been working on earlier in the day. We literally felt like we were recording for a cooking show as both chefs featured some amazing French cheeses and their eclectic collection of different preserves! Oh, and the maple bacon popcorn!!! Oh, em gee...We were totally blown away, and felt so lucky to have our original caterer cancel on us for a more lucrative event. These guys rock!!! Totally seems like this team treats their work like fun as they are so passionate with their menu ideas, personable with their manners, and affable with their warmth for their clients. After how they took care of us, I couldn't help but to write such a thorough review. I highly recommend Chefs Jose & Brian from Dade County Food Group, and will insist that my friends have their functions catered by them, too.
I love taking cooking classes and attend various classes at least once month. Naturally I find a lot of classes online and make my decisions based on reviews. I normally attend large group sessions (10+) and have always enjoyed the experience. I recently found Rosemary and Thyme online and at first I was sceptical because the class was at a private home and restricted to 7 people. I have to say this was the best decisIon I made and enjoyed every moment with Jeff. The difference with this class is with a smaller group we all had the opportunity to try out techniques and skills taught by Jeff. We had an incredible experience preparing, cooking and having fun with Jeff and I am already planning future sessions. The best take away I got was not the food or recipes but the tips and tricks Jeff shared with us all to prepare meals not only more efficiently but also how to make it less of a chore and more fun to be in the kitchen....
This is my first experience taking cooking classes and it has been fantastic. I am finally enjoying cooking healthy without having to sacrifice flavor. Sue has walked me through the process with graceful patience and has made this experience so much fun. I'm glad I finally decided to do this, also very grateful Thumbtack helped me make this search process an easy one. I just relocated and it was scary not having relatives or friends to guide me.

What an amazing experience we had with purple door! Todd and his wife are an incredible duo. We found them through thumbtack and requested they do a southern-style appetizer menu. They actually came to my house and did a quick tasting for me. The party was 130 people. The food was self-serve on a long table. We set up the presentation because we wanted to and they guided us as to the types of trays they needed for each part of the meal. The meal included mini chicken and waffles, corn fritters, macaroni and cheese, bbq pulled pork sliders and shrimp and grits. Our guests raved about the food all night and for days after the party. They are truly talented cooks. Not only was the food amazing- but the table always had hot food on it. The food trays were constantly replenished. Purple Door really knows what they're doing. Service is top notch. And food was so tasty! The crowd we served is a very picky one and they had nothing but compliments for Purple Door. I am certain they will get repeat business after this party. Chef Ricardo did a cooking class for 12 of my friends and it was awesome!! After the class he serves us an incredible 3 course dinner of what he had taught us to make! My friends are talking about it!!

My son had the opportunity to cook with Chef Deb. What an experience. He was so focused and loved it. What a great experience. If your child is interested in this they would love it. The next day we bought a pasta maker. We are looking to do it again.

An exceptional class taught by an exceptional Chef! I am working on my culinary certification and had asked Chef Maury's help to polish my skills up. It took a couple of months until I could finally schedule my class (my schedule won't permit) but Chef Maury replied promptly whenever I send him a message. The class itself lasted for about 4 hours, concentrating on knife skills, stock making and basic cooking techniques. He was very keen in making sure I make the right cuts and correcting me right away. His kitchen is a standard home kitchen so you don't have to worry about being intimidated by big equipment. Whether you have a culinary background like I do or just a home cook who wants to learn more, Chef Maury is the right guy to show you the ropes. I am already looking forward to my next class!
Jose is worth the hire. He can definitely cook with a "KEEN EYE" for food....
My class used PCS events for our graduation party this past Friday and it turned out amazing! From the first meeting to the tasting to the actual event everything was perfect! Since it was a class event we were on a budget and Barbara was able to work with us and rearrange a few things so our budget would work out for the type of event we had in mind. We gave Barbara all of our ideas and when we arrived to the event after our grad ceremony we were shocked. Everything was perfectly how we imagined it! Barbara and her staff were very friendly and cooperative to all of our needs and I could not have asked for a better turn out! I will most definitely be using PCS events again in the future.
Their food was amazing. I don't usually eat some ingredients in some of the dishes but I wanted to taste the food the way they made it. I'm glad I did!
