FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
When it comes to pricing, my one-on-one tennis lessons range from $65 to $100 per hour. This rate is a reflection of not just my 30+ years of hands-on tennis experience but also my diverse contributions to the tennis community, including consulting roles with the United States Tennis Association and product development in virtual tennis training. The lessons I offer are highly personalized and can be adapted to your skill level, with the added convenience of equipment provision for those who need it. While the price range is indicative of the premium coaching and extensive expertise you'll receive, I do offer flexibility. Please inquire about long-term packages or group session options, as my goal is to make quality tennis education accessible and valuable to you.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First Meeting and Goal-Setting: My initial step is always to meet with the new client to discuss their objectives, previous experience with tennis, and any specific elements they'd like to improve. This also gives me a chance to assess any physical limitations or injuries that we'll need to consider. Tailored Training Blueprint: After our initial conversation, I'll craft a personalized training roadmap that addresses your unique requirements. This blueprint will marry tactical advice with technical training, and may even incorporate psychological strategies if applicable. Technical Breakdown and Foundation Building: Once we've established your training plan, we'll delve into honing the basics. Using a step-by-step approach, I'll guide you through the nuances of posture, grip, footwork, and stroke, giving real-time feedback to refine your technique. Targeted Drills: I use a variety of specialized drills to engrain new skills and challenge your abilities. Whether we're working on your serve, forehand, or footwork, these drills are designed to improve your muscle memory and boost your confidence on the court. Match Simulation and Tactical Education: As we move forward, I'll incorporate match-like scenarios and situational training to help you apply what you've learned in a competitive context. Here, we'll explore game strategy, shot selection, and optimal court movement. Ongoing Assessment and Adaptation: Continual feedback is a cornerstone of my coaching philosophy. Through regular check-ins and performance evaluations, we'll adapt your training blueprint as needed to ensure you're advancing toward your goals. Beyond the Court: My investment in your tennis skills extends beyond our sessions. I offer additional support through follow-up communication, resources, and ongoing advice to ensure your success becomes a sustainable, long-term endeavor. By adhering to this structured yet flexible approach, I aim to offer tennis coaching that is as personalized as it is effective, helping each client maximize their court potential and attain their tennis aspirations.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My educational background and extensive training in tennis serve as the backbone of my expertise as a coach. While I've spent over 30 years mastering the sport and even played alongside professionals, my qualifications go beyond just personal play. I have been an active contributor and consultant to the United States Tennis Association, focusing on diversity programs. This has given me a unique understanding of tennis as both a sport and a community-building tool. Additionally, I've contributed to the product development for Sense Arena, a virtual tennis training program designed to hone the mental aspects of the game. This involvement has kept me abreast of cutting-edge coaching methodologies and techniques. During weekdays, I am a marketing professional with over 20 years of experience, bringing a nuanced understanding of individual needs and goal-setting into my coaching. This blend of formal education, hands-on experience, and professional insights empowers me to offer unparalleled guidance, helping my students to achieve not just competence but excellence on the tennis court.
