Absolutely AMAZING experience!!!!!! Definitely recommend!!!!!! Ricky was super fast to reply to my request on thumbtack and was able to treat within only a few hours! He arrived on time, was VERY professional, explained exactly what he will be doing, what kind of chemicals he will be using, whether or not is it safe for children and animals, covered exactly what to do to prevent getting roaches in the house. I was desperate due to my tenants threatening to move out due to the roach situation, Ricky calmed them down, treated my place and immediately scheduled a follow up treatment. Prior to the second treatment, I have received a friendly reminder from Ricky about the scheduled appointment. I could not speak highly enough about Ricky's services and the way he handled my situation. Very pleased and very satisfied! :))

I called when several months of attempts to control the roach problem in my kitchen proved to be unsuccessful. Greenflags solved my problem with the initial 2 treatments. I will stay on the quarterly maintenance plan to ensure I never have a roach problem again. I could have saved alot of money if I had just called Greenflags to begin with, instead of trying to get rid of the roaches myself. On top of that, price was better than the other quotes I received from other companies.

After moving into my new home I found we had a roach infestation. Even after rescheduling the appointment twice Ben and his team was fast, friendly, accommodating, sensitive and thorough. The price was affordable and he even worked with me on exterminating the outside and inside of my home. They were extremely easy to contact, and the follow ups were amazing and Ben and is team made sure my family were happy, safe and bug free. I would recommend them to anyone.

My wife hired David from Beacon a few months ago, and if you ask me, she didn't give him quite a fair shake. She can be kind of demanding. Her review is below, but let me tell you what David has done for us since: He refunded her money because of how unhappy she was and because the problem had not been solved. He also explained clearly how he was going to change the way he did business so that the things that legitimately went wrong would not happen to the next person. Then, although he knew she would not be allowed to edit her (very negative) review, he came to our home on a Saturday morning and not only sincerely apologized and got his hands dirty in our rat infested attic, but also provided professional guidance to us, gratis. Because of that, we've hired him again. This is because over the next few months, together with my wife, we attempted to hire other pest control companies and have not been pleased--it is damn near impossible to find one that will be as honest, thorough, and diligent as Beacon has been since we hired them again. Here's what you can expect: David, the owner, will come to your first appointment and make sure you understand what the recommendation is for the best possible result. He will also tell you if there are alternatives that might provide a satisfactory result (exclusion is EXPENSIVE no matter who does it, but Beacon will give you a far longer warranty than anyone else we interviewed, and they do not require that you sign up for a monthly maintenance program like some companies do). If you want bait stations, David will review the options for you--different baits have different toxicity, and if you have pets, you might be concerned about what could happen if your pet gets ahold of a poisoned rat. David knows his stuff on this topic. From then on, if they're doing trapping for you, you can expect a tech to come to your house weekly to check the traps and remove anything they've caught. These guys will be neat and clean, they are polite and professional, and from what we've seen, there's not a creep or a fast talker in the bunch. We dealt with another company that was always trying to upsell and find a way to charge more. Beacon doesn't do that. David is going to keep working with you until your problem is solved, even if you are a pain in his ass like my wife was. I think the biggest reason you should hire this company is because of the INTEGRITY with which they operate. Lots of people are good at cashing checks, but fall short where the rubber meets the road. David clearly cares about his CUSTOMERS and NOT just his bottom line or even his reputation. My wife does feel bad that she may have had a hand in tarnishing that reputation, and David acknowledges that her initial experience was not up to his standards. We are so glad to be working with Beacon again, and we urge you to do so as well.

So about two weeks ago I came back from NC with a HUGE German roach problem in my new house. [I think I brought them in from renting a camper for Sun n Fun] Well, I called Chris and he came in and found more than what I had already killed! (We're talking about 100-YES I said 100- roaches!!!) Anyone who knows me knows I'm deathly scared of roaches-to the point where I'm dry heaving if it's bad. I was scared to walk barefoot in my home. I was scared to stand at my kitchen counter with the fear of something crawling on my foot. I was scared they were going to invade and I could never get rid of them! Chris came in and inspected everywhere, sound where they were all congregating (behind the fridge) and started a plan of action. He didn't miss a beat-he knew who he was going to war with and was ready to fight! He set baits and treated everything. He said he was going to be back in a couple weeks to retreat and make sure everything was going as planned. Well, I was thinking it would take weeks for these little jerks to die but I started seeing dead roaches everywhere within 24 hours! What a relief! I have been happily vacuuming them up. I can finally walk to the kitchen at 2 in the morning to get a glass of water without the fear of stepping on roaches. Thank you Chris, you're seriously my hero and everyone needs to use your services.

Mr Bryars is intelligent courteous and professional. He knows his stuff! The first time I contacted Mr Bryars was for a house I was renting that had a roach problem. The little roaches that multiply. He got rid of them real quick. I now own my own house and Mr Bryars is my Pest Control technician for my new house. Recently I had a carpenter ant invasion the in my home. I was so frightened I thought they were termites and I called Mr Bryars and he responded within half an hour and had me text a picture of the bugs to him. This was around 9:30 p.m.that night and he responded within half an hour and put my mind at ease. Mr Bryars went above and beyond. He Came out the next day and then came out again at night after hours to track down the nest because the carpenter ants are active at night. I am surrounded by trees I live in the boonies.I would never think of using anyone else and highly recommend him.

Best pest control in Orlando. Unfortunately I ended up getting german roaches and I shopped around till I came across Manning Brothers Pest Control. They gave me the best estimate and got the job done! They explained the whole procedure and guaranteed the job to come out perfect and stuck to their word! I also called for my lawn because I had weeds growing and my lawn is back to being healthy. I can say I am super happy and will recommend them to anyone!!

We just purchased a new home, but once we closed and started to move into the new home we found german roaches in the home. Kip came out the next morning and checked it out, offered his solution and price, treated the home and within a couple of days dead roaches everywhere! It has been almost 2 weeks now, and we have not seen one living or dead in our home. Plus, Kip called several days afterwards to follow up. Nice touch.

I bought a new home in April and one of my new neighbors had them and had lots of good stuff to say about them. Their sales rep was very informative and their prices were much lower than other companies. We ended up getting lawn and pest control. Before we hired them we naturally had lots of ants and some roaches inside because there are lots of trees and plants around the house. Its been several months now and we haven't seen not one bug inside. The lawn looks much better. We had to replace some sod when we moved in because of some sprinkler problems before. The lawn guy checked the irrigation and told us what areas were missing watering. They have been great about telling us what they did and what we need to do. The sod is coming in nicely and I really think its because of whatever they did to it. Were really happy with falcon and I have reccomended them to several friends. My parents got them as well for a bad ant problem and they are pleased with the pest control.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

      • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
        • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
      • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

      • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
        • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
      • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
        • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
      • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
        • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.

How much does it cost to get rid of cockroaches?

Cockroaches are not only ugly, they are difficult to get rid of. Quick and resilient, they can be hard to get rid of without professional help once they have inhabited a house. Nationally, the average range for cockroach pest control cost is $80-$130. Extermination professionals typically provide a free estimate to determine the extent of the infestation. They’ll check for the main sources of the bugs, identify bug access and entry points into your home, and determine the best method for elimination. There are a variety of cockroach extermination tools including gel baits and traps, pesticide foggers, desiccants (which dry out the cockroaches), neurotoxins, and other pesticides. Pest control costs can also cover preventive measures like regular spraying and trap maintenance. Some regions of the country are much more prone to cockroach problems than others, so pest control costs may need to be part of your quarterly budget. Cockroaches love dark, humid, and warm areas and water sources, so place traps near your washer and dryer and under your sinks.

How much does it cost to get a pest inspection?

In general there is no cost for a pest inspection. Exterminators typically provide a free property or building inspection and then provide you with a written estimate outlining the necessary treatment and cost. The home visit allows the exterminator to assess the problem and let you know what your pest control cost will be if you contract with their services. You may need a termite inspection for real estate purposes. This will be a verified inspection showing that the house in question is termite-free (often done before a sale). The inspection may cost a flat rate, such as $125-$150, depending on house size.

It’s hard to predict pest control costs sight unseen due to the variety of factors that go into pest treatment. For example, a bedbug problem for one customer may be confined to one room and be easy to access and treat in one visit if the room is clear of clutter and the bedbugs have been caught early. In another home, a bedbug problem may also be confined to one room, but there’s a great deal of clutter, providing more hiding places for the bugs and requiring more spray and labor for the exterminator, as well as many pieces of large furniture in the room that need to sprayed. Depending on the maturity of the infestation, a bedbug problem may require multiple visits to entirely eliminate. This is why many companies provide a free inspection to determine pest control costs and provide you the most accurate quote possible.
