I can not speak highly enough about the work done by C.G. Paint. Not only were they openly communicative throughout the entire process, from quote to completion of work, they were on time every single day (which was only two - they painted the entire home in two days!), fixed all repairs (holes in wall, stucco ceiling falling), and collected the paint for me (included in price). The value they pack in to each dollar you pay is well worth their price tag (which is so reasonable, I was really happy to find them). If you're looking for painters who take pride and care in their work, this is the company to go with. From someone who is moving in to their first home and already affording mountains of bills in remodeling costs - finding this high quality of work for such reasonable pricing was an absolute blessing and life-saver. I will most certainly be recommending to those I know.

I didn't hire him since I measured my curtains wrong but he had the best price for installing a curtain rod and painting furniture.

Pros: Prompt, punctual, and very friendly. The owner was super awesome and not greedy at all. Took me to Home Depot for a door replacement and, after some tribulations, I was tempted to make a rush buy decision. He told me to take a few days and think about it first because of the ridiculous price. And it was totally the right call. So he really cares about his customers. His employees were also very polite and diligent. The quality of the work was great. Cons: some of the stuff that I requested to be fixed during the initial inspection, like stucco repairs, were not done and it wasn't until they painted over these spots that I asked if they were going to make the repairs. They got right on it and fixed it but I was a little disappointed that the requests somehow fell off the radar. Overall very happy with the work and would recommend them to anyone.

JJQ services washed and painted the exterior of our house at a fair price. They also pressure washed and sealed our brick stucco and drive way. Pierre and his crew were punctual, and professional. It is refreshing to find a repair man who is honest and does a quality job. We will surely use him again.

We had a damaged window from the hurricane, that needed replacement. I had called a friend of a friend (not Jeff) to do the work. He destroyed stucco and some interior as well, in removing the old one. I hadn't seen the work, until after he put the new one in. It looked horrible! I didn't know how it would ever look normal, without costing us a fortune. I then found Jeff. He assured me it was not going to cost a fortune to restore the window area to normal. He completed the interior in 6 hours and the exterior in 4. The attention to detail in his work, appeared as if damage never occurred at all. Jeff was also very cost conscious and considerate to our situation. I will definitely call Jeff for future work! Thank you Jeff!!!

I accidently deactivated my thumbtack account, called customer service, reactivated it, changed my password and finally got back to this review page all to leave this review – that is how impressed we are with Project Painting and specifically Patricio. That account fiasco alone is enough for most people to get how happy we are with their service, but I will go into a bit more detail just to drive my point home. We contacted a few painters for a quick deadline project for our mother-in-law’s house that was soon to close. We had a quote, a plan, and a date with Project Painting in under 2 hours, and they were onsite to her place in Melbourne within the week. Her house is not huge, but they had it taped, small holes patched, and painted in less than a day – including trim, walls, doors, and closets. The quote we received included paint, but our mother-in-law picked a paint type that Project Painters would have needed to change the price for, but Patricio told us that the paint store he normally uses was having a sell for non-business customers. Ultimately, we saved 40% on the paint due to the sell, and we were able to work with Patricio to adjust the quote to account for us purchasing the paint. The team was on time for the day of the painting. They were nice, professional, quick, and went out of their way to please what can only be described as a “picky” mother-in-law. I can tell you if I was in their shoes, I would have been hard pressed to be as nice and accommodating as they were, and we will certainly be recommending them to anyone we know needs a painter. Bottom line, they were on-time, at budget, professional, extremely thorough, well-priced, accurately estimated their time to completion, and just a perfect experience. But don’t take my word for it, you can read any of their reviews and see we are not a special case – they are just a great company.

I am beyond impressed with the quality of work I received. Manny and Mark were very professional and were great at communication. They listened to what I wanted, and helped me bring my vision to life. They didn’t rush through the project and had excellent attention to detail. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for professional, detailed oriented, and hard working painters!

We couldn’t be more pleased with the stucco repair and painting that was completed on our exterior today. The stucco repair was seamless, and the paint match is unbelievable. We will hire again for other properties in the near future!

I called John on a Monday evening after another painter that I had called canceled on me last minute. John came out that same evening and gave me an estimate and started work the very next day. He was done within a day and a half and did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend John and if I need any more work done inside my home I will definitely call him first.

They were great at communicating and gave useful advice on what color trim would best match our house color. They completed the painting project including stucco repair in a timely manner. We've received many compliments on our home since it's been repainted. They use high quality products and are still able to provide the service at an unbeatable price. We are very pleased with the work they completed and highly recommend them.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

    How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

    • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
    • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
    • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
    • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
