Johnny was true to his word that we would have new flooring before Christmas. Johnny and his team removed 1100 sq ft of ceramic tile and replaced with beautiful flooring in 2 and half days. We are so happy we made the decision to go with Titan Flooring and home remodeling. The price was fair and the service was outstanding. I will call Titan Flooring for my home remodeling needs in the future.

Donald installed my new cook top stove. As it turned out, it was too big for the opening but he improvised by doing some tile work and I was happy with the result. Did good work at a fair pruce.

Job 1: over 1700 sq ft wood like tile flooring install with current floor demo Job 2: herringbone backsplash Job 1: 8”x48” planks and he did a fabulous job. Minimal lippage and he quickly addressed any tiles we wanted replaced. He staggered for a more woodlike appearance. Always on time and respectful to my home. Only con was a little cleanup left over. However, I can clean I can not install floor tile. I’d easily recommend him and already have. He’s middle of the road towards lower on my price estimates that I received. Job 2: Backsplash did not go as smooth. There was a communication error on the exact pattern I desired. I wanted herringbone on a 45 (didn’t know that was the term) and he installed herringbone on a 90. I felt both myself and Mark shared the blame and Mark nicely reimbursed me for half of the cost. I had a diff contractor redo backsplash bc Mark was booked for several weeks and I was ready to have renovations complete. Pros: on time, great work, great price, friendly Cons: leaves some cleanup

There were hiccups but Steve was always patient and worked to make sure everything came out the way we wanted. He changed some things after started when I changed my mind without complaint. Will definitely be calling him again. :)

I had the best experience with Douglas. He did a fantastic job of new flooring in my 1-BR. Carpets were taken out, laminate floors throughout and porcelain tile in the bathroom. Douglas turned the job around efficiently and with a great attention to detail. The apartment was spotless and I enjoy the high quality work that Douglas did. I recommend talking to him about getting the right type of flooring in. He is very knowledgeable. Overall, I highly recommend Douglas.

It was a pleasure working with Todd, Tyler and Oliver. We needed to have a kitchen tile backsplash installed in our personal home. After scheduling the job, there was some unexpected car trouble, and I thought we were going to be rescheduled. But after knowing what we had already been through (the job falling through twice by another contractor), Todd was able to rework their schedule, squeeze us in, and still stay on track. I was afraid our job might be rushed, but they took their time to ensure it was done well. I have high standards for the work done at our own home as well as at our other investment properties, and they did a great job. They were also easy to communicate with and punctual so we'll be hiring them again for other projects.

I feel very fortunate that I found George to correct the problem I found when I moved into my new home. There was a leak in a drain pipe inside the wall , which caused mold damage and extensive damage to the bathroom vanities and adjoining bedroom. George worked with me to recover almost all of the cost of the damage from my insurance company and made the repairs in a remarkable short time. He was very attentive to detail and took care of every part of the construction from mold removal to replacement of the vanities, plumbing, painting and tile replacement. He was a life saver.

These guys are great. Rodney came when he said he would, then gave me a good quote and all the details so there wouldn't be any surprises as they did the work. He and Chuck showed up when expected and got right to work. The first job was installing tile in my home office and when they were done it looked so good that we decided to hire them to do the hall and living room. This was a big enough job for Chuck to have a helper/trainee, and I overheard Chuck explaining to his helper how to prep the floor and lay the tile, and I was impressed by his level of care and knowledge of his job. Not only showing concern for how it would look today, but how it would stand up over time. Thanks team, and let me know if you ever need a personal reference.

Elvis is the real deal! Apremium General did a 1000 sq foot wood-look tile job for us recently and my wife and I couldn’t be happier. He responded to my needs in a timely manner when I posted my request on thumbtack, gave me an estimate over the app based on my needs and description of my home and situation, he was very close and accurate with the actual cost when he came out and assessed my home. I can’t say enough good things about the experience, Elvis and his crew take pride in their work, he cares about his customers in the form of the product he’s giving you and thoroughly explains any questions or concerns. When people walk in our home now the first thing they say to us is WOW NICE FLOORS! One of our friends who is in real estate saw our floor and said you have people out there charging almost double what you paid for such a good job. So if you want a five star experience by a company run by good competent people then choose Apremium General.

We hired Phil Foster with KAI Vision Builders for a project at our recently purchased home in St. Pete We had them Install sliding glass doors in the master bedroom. Out the doors we had them make a patio with an overhang and install a ceiling fan. Additional multiple indoor minor projects- cat door, bathroom exhaust fan, extra outlet in bedroom and washer drain. I am extremely pleased with outcome of the project. All was reasonably priced and Phil graciously did not nickel and dime us on a couple of the extras. I really appreciated Phils knowledge and attention to detail. He communicated well during the entire process and I am very happy to have chosen him for our project. I would highly recommend their services and would definitely hire them again should I need further work done.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to tile a shower?

The cost of tiling a shower depends on two main factors: the size of the shower and the quality of the tiles. In general, most professional tilers charge an average of $25 per square foot of tiled area and the national average cost for a tile installation project is $490-$750. The tiles themselves are the greatest variable; the cost depends on their size, shape, pattern and manufacturer. For example, tile purchased at a volume discount from a big-box store cost far less than tiles made in small batches by an artisan ceramics shop. Prices can range from as little as $1 to $50 or more per square foot of tile. Other factors that will drive up the total tile installation cost are grout and mortar, speciality tiles like bullnose caps or soap holders, and surface prep materials, especially if drywall needs to be replaced before the tile can be installed. Many tile installers will also remove and haul away any old materials from an existing shower installation.

How much does it cost to tile a bathroom?

Tile installation costs are a key part of your bathroom remodel costs. The tile you select (which can range from under $2 per square foot to $50 per square foot or more), the demolition and repair work required prior to installation, and the size of the job will all affect cost. You can install tile in the shower, on the counters, on the wall or on the floor. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Bathroom tile is easy to clean and durable for daily life. Here are some examples of average bathroom tile installation costs:

  • Tile installation at $25 per square foot of tiled bathroom area.
    • A standard tub and shower combo requires tiles for approximately 60 inches of length. Calculate wall height and add 30 to 36 inches of tub width for the walls at the head and foot of the tub. If the tile walls are 6 feet to 8 feet high, in this example, the tile installation costs would run about $2,000. Price includes materials.
  • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with an 8-foot ceiling: $1,450. Price includes materials.
  • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with a 10-foot ceiling: $1,650. Price includes materials.

How much does it cost to install a ceramic tile floor?

Tile installation costs for ceramic floors depend on the type of tile you select. You can purchase tile that sells for under $2 per square foot or tile that costs $50 per square foot — or more for artisanal and hand-painted tiles. The cost of labor to install a tile floor will also depend on the tile you select. It is far less labor-intensive to install a white 12-inch by 12-inch square tile than a 2-inch by 2-inch hexagonal tile with a distinct pattern. That extra time and energy equates to a higher per-square-foot installation cost. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for labor to install wood-look tile in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet. That same pro may charge $6 or more per square foot for a more intricate pattern, or a smaller space. Some installers may charge a minimum day rate for ceramic tile floor installation, such as $340 minimum per day, to cover business expenses and employee wages. If you’re looking to reduce costs, removing your existing flooring and handling any repairs needed can help eliminate prep work costs. Prep work may be charged per hour and could cost anywhere from $25 to $80 per hour or more, depending on the region and the type of repair work necessary.

How much does it cost to get tiling done?

You can install tiling on your floors, walls, counters, kitchen backsplash, outdoor patio and shower — to name a few places. Tile is beautiful, easy to clean, durable, and resilient against kids and pets. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Often, tile installation specialists quote a price per square foot for installation. Costs can increase if you want the pro to supply the tile instead of ordering it yourself. Other factors that can increase cost include specialized installation with a unique design that will require more labor to install.

Prep work will also affect tile installation costs. Demolition of the existing floor, counter or backsplash takes time and energy that will be reflected in the price. Necessary repairs, such as a sub-floor that needs bolstering before tile flooring can be installed, will also increase costs. For tile showers, one example of tile installation cost may be approximately $25 per square foot including all materials and labor. Average tile installation costs for backsplashes may run anywhere from $10 to $40, depending on the materials selected and the amount of labor required. The larger the area where tile is being installed, the lower the price per square foot will likely be. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for wood-look tile installation in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet.

How much does it cost to install tiles in a kitchen?

One of the most common kitchen upgrades is installing decorative backsplash tiles in the space between the counters and cabinets. It’s a chance for homeowners to get creative while also protecting the kitchen walls from splashes and stains. Like all tiling projects, kitchen tile project costs depend on the tiles you choose, installation materials such as grout and mortar, and any surface materials, like replacement backer board. The national average for a tiled kitchen backsplash is $490-$750. In general, pricing averages $10-$40 per square foot for installation, not including tile. Some professional tile installers have a minimum day rate for small projects, which averages $350.
