Dr. Michelle has made such a wonderful difference for my son in a short time. She brings a positive energy to their tutoring sessions, and has been able to engage him enthusiastically even through tough lessons. Already we have seen an improvement in his grades and attitude towards school. I look forward to a long successful relationship together.
Mr. Stanley is a man worth having for those who really see themselves in the future secured. He is determine to make sure you get the best coach in any test that is stopping you from reaching your goal. Mr. Stanley methods helping me so far into understanding what I have to tackle, so far, I still have a couple of lessons to go before i go show proof of my result, but until then, take my words on how this man can teach you to work smart and not work hard
I hired a tutor for my 1st grader, he is behind in reading, so I can only say good things about Ms Hernandez. She is always on time, has a lot of patience, and helps my son in reading. So far, we only had 3 lessons with her, but I expect a lot of changes in my son's reading.
My son was struggling in high school math and after 2 sessions with Kristin he scored 100 percent on his test today. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor.
After my child first meeting with Mrs. Bridgewater, he was more confident in math. He was ready to tackle any math lesson his teacher throw his way. As a parent I was very pleased with wide range of knowledge of math material.
It is my pleasure to write a recommendation for Herb Tamres' legal, editing, and writing skills, as well as his teaching skills. In my final year in law school, I worked under Herb's supervision in the General Counsel's Office of a major firm. Herb was a terrific supervisor and mentor. He gave myself and my colleagues great advice about how to improve our writing and how to better use caselaw to support our reasoning. Herb was incredibly patient with us as we climbed up the learning curve, and he made sure we were appropriately challenged in the process. Herb was always willing to listen to us, and to discuss any difficulties we were having with particular assignments. He also exhibited a sincere interest in us as people, which I believe is another attribute that made him a superb teacher. I have been a lawyer for over 20 years now, and currently work in the New York City Law Department. I am certain that working for Herb made me a better writer -- and a better lawyer -- than I would otherwise have been. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me during the work day at 212-356-2433.
Ms. Werb is caring, intelligent, patient, and down to Earth person. She was my teacher in high school. Her teaching technics aren't like others. She doesn't only just touches on a subject and moves on, she will go step by step, explain in ways YOU will understand, and make learning fun. She wants to make sure you will understand the subject inside and out, you can do it in your sleep, and use it in the real world. She will not force you to understand something, belittle you, or give up when you are having a hard time. She believes in the power of knowledge and she wants to share it with everyone. She always has a smile on her face, great sense of humor, and always there for her students. She will build a trusting relationship with the people she teaches and come across. Ms. Werb should be the ONLY choice a student or someone should pick to help them with school, work, and in between. Thank you Ms. Werb for helping me with job interview questions and resume. I got a new job and they hired me on the spot without a second interview. Thank you also for helping me out on personal things. You are the best person in the galaxy!
Dr. Dubler is a skilled tutor that knows that taking the SAT is similar to activities like sports, dance and theater; there are many factors that influence someones performance. Dr. Dubler not only shares his passion for setting students up for PSAT and SAT test taking; but he provides applicable hints for students to think about in advance, such as: what to eat the week before the test, and many other tricks to the trade of successful test taking. He will arrive promptly and professionally and will assign homework in between his sessions and encourages his students to do what they can do, with the reality they have their normal extracurricular activities and homework to attend to. His longevity in this field speaks for his abilities to be committed to his passion for SAT tutoring. Dr. Dubler is very experienced and highly educated. He is an excellent match for students who do not mind being asked to explain their train of thought, as his expectation is a high level of interaction. This is one way he reinforces what he is teaching. He is also full on fun magic tricks along the way, which will certainly keep things as he likes them entertaining.
Mike is fantastic!! He zeros in on very specific details of ways to improve your game. I cant believe how much Ive learned and improved in the few (4-5) lessons that Ive had with him. Hes always encouraging and motivating! I look forward to having Mike help me take my game to a much higher level even though I am just a recreational league player! Also, I appreciate how Mike tries to accomodate to scheduling needs! He's very personable and very professional!!
Mr. Arnie has been helping my son in Algebra and has made a huge difference! Not only have his test grades gone from a C- to an A- average in just 1 grading period, but my son is really understanding the base concepts that will give him a foundation for future lessons. Arnie has been extremely patient and has brought very complex problems down to a level easily understood so there is no more frustration. He genuinely cares about helping his students succeed! He has been very professional and always on time and prepared to teach. I would highly recommend him to any student who wants to understand but is not learning effectively in the classroom.
George is not a teacher -- George is a Coach and the reason I say that is because he does not simply teach but actually helps the student on how to learn and master a topic. He not only focused on ensuring my son got the concepts down but on also how my son could improve his test performance. After just one week of lessons, my son for the first time scored a 98 and a 100 on his quiz and exam respectively. Based on our experience we would highly recommend George.
I find what I need to find in a short time and I already start my lessons
Natalie has been a wonderful in helping my high school son get back on track in math and science. She is great at communication with parents and setting strategies for helping a student get through their obstacles. You will be thanking your lucky stars after just a few sessions, when your child begins making great strides quickly.
I hired Ms Sonia for my son; he is starting middle school and needed to improve his self confidence in math. He has had 5 sessions so far and is doing great! Ms Sonia is very kind and patient. She did a simple but throughout review with him for their first lesson. Each session she reviews different topics with him and then has him 'teach' her to help with his self confidence and to better gain a true understanding of the math. She is easy to communicate with and is always so kind!! Very thankful we found her!
Inspiring, enlightening, engaging...excellent! "Ms Calder is the best teacher you could ever have," is what my thirteen year old son says when prompted to say something to his peers about his teacher. "If you have any question about language arts literature or history she can answer them." When you ask me how I feel about Ms Calder, I say that my child is receiving a world class education in her midst. As a child, I was at the top of my class in primary, secondary, and in undergrad. My child is learning more, as a young teen, than I learned in my first years at the university! After one short year with Ms Calder, he is understanding how the world works; and he attracts adults into conversation, engaging and impressing them. He has had a great experience, being her student. Ms. Calder has an innate ability to connect with all of her students and make them highly successful. A young, vibrant mother of four beautiful children, and a highly effective teacher for many years; she embraces each and every one of her students in her classroom as if they were her own. She was very patient with my son, from the start, and read into learning styles and issues. He is understanding concepts much better. He looks forward to going back to school, every day. She has taught students with many different learning styles, too. As a public school teacher, she has overcome many obstacles relating to having inspired children with little appeal for school; and she has brought out the best in the formally gifted children and high achieving. She breaks her teaching into understandable language, yet challenges her students to learn things their parents never imagined they could, at such a young age. She asks intelligent questions to make sure her students "get it." And from what we can tell, her students exceed the averages on standardized tests like end of course exams, and assessments. She had great lesson plans for her students she doesn't just make her students "do the work." She asks questions to make sure that her students understand all of the information that is being presented. She makes sure that you walk away with a great understanding of what is being presented. This is testament to the results her students attain top results in testing situations. I highly recommend Ms. Calder for any profession involving language, writing, and getting the best out of people. I will certainly use her services when my children apply for scholarships and college. -Kathy Diaz, Fort Lauderdale, Florida
John Way was my teacher for Physics 1 and Physics C: ME. For the two years that I had him he was great. He always knew what he was talking about and would go in depth in his explanations, which allowed me to really grasp the concepts that he taught. When someone was struggling, he wouldn't just leave them behind, he would spend whatever class time he could on them as well as his lunch time and time after school. He is a teacher that everyone loves and cherishes at McArthur High School.
Susan is great. She is very easy to work with and really helped with high school reading assignments. I would highly recommend her.
For the last 5 months, Andrew has been the first and only person I've gone to for suggestions and edits to my essays. He's helped me with everything from my almost 30 college applications to scholarships and enrichment programs. I've always trusted his judgement, as being a published writer and journalist it goes without saying that he is a pro. He always found a way help me make my stories come across in the most original and true to me way possible. I would call him on the phone when I had writer's block and he would just have a conversation with me and cause me to have an epiphany. He is undoubtedly one of the biggest reasons I'm able to say that not only was I accepted to 20 schools, but I'm attending an ivy league institution this fall, and am also the recipient of a $10,000 scholarship from a foundation. He is extremely patient, humble, and willing to dedicate as much time as necessary to make your writing shine. I couldn't have made it to this point without his guidance.
Melinda worked with our daughter for two years. At the time our daughter was diagnosed with ADHD and she was struggling at school. Melinda was able to bring the best in her. Melinda taught her organizational skills, comprehension and memorization techniques and critical thinking. She helped our daughter in English, Social Sciences, Public speaking and writing. Our daughter went from a C student to an A student. Melinda gave her the boost and self confidence she needed to start high school. We will always be grateful to Melinda. Highly recommended.
My 11 year old was having a hard time a school with math and needed a tutor. David is very knowledgeable and patient, he encourages my daughter’s participation to ensure she is understanding the lesson. Davis is an enthusiastic teacher. I pretty happy with his work.
Ms Annette, as my children refer to her, did an excellent job not only caring for my children, but also provided them with the fundamental education necessary to prepare them for elementary school. I would highly recommend her for any position working with young children.
