I had always wanted to take voice lessons but due to the expense, it was something I had never pursued. It was only when I was cast in a community theatre musical production for a character outside of my vocal range that I decided to pursue the opportunity. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to study with Joe. He is very passionate about his craft. He is knowledgeable and efficient. His method of teaching is extremely comprehensive and with each lesson, I learned more and more. Over the course of our few weeks together, I expanded my vocal range and gained the confidence I needed to perform perfectly. My voice was noticeably stronger- not only to me, but to my family and my musical theater peers. He worked hard to accommodate my schedule and never hesitated to put in additional time. Recently, I was cast as a lead in another community theatre musical production. While my voice is pretty, I am confident that my ability to secure this role was because I had spent time working with Joe. I will continue to work with him throughout my community theatre endeavors and would recommend him to anyone seeking to improve their vocal range and/or skills. He truly is a wonderful teacher and this review does not do him justice.

We are thrilled with our son's music lessons at Maestro Maines Studio! Our son has had both drum lessons and steel pans lessons, and he has enjoyed both! In fact, he loves the steel pans class so much that he looks forward to that class all week. As a homeschool family, I am thrilled that homeschool classes will be added starting in January, along with a group steel pans class. Yippee! It's businesses like this that make me love our community. Give it a try! Your kiddo(s) will probably love it!

I studied voice for a period of 6 months with Alfredo Olarte. He taught me the breath technique and support that was used by Mercedes LLopart, Alfredo Kraus, and his brother, baritone Francisco Kraus who was his main teacher and others. This appogio technique was the begining of the platform to build my voice, then he taught me some old italian school vocalizing with clear vowels that reinforced my vocal folds over time, stacatos and legato singing excersices. He also taught me how to maximize the oropharyngeal resonance by using the muscles of the face. I studied with over 10 voice teachers but I only mention two that are worth a fortune . Alfredo is one of them. Giuliano Zanatti. Tenor.

Working with Gayle has been a wonderful experience. I came to her for voice lessons, but overtime I realized that I am gaining so much more. She is highly skilled and makes me feel so comfortable. Gayle has not only helped me with the technical aspect of singing, but she understands that singing is more of an emotional experience. She has helped me break through a lot of self limitations, free of judgement. I value our lessons and look forward to them each week. Thank you Gayle for helping me tap into a part of myself that I've dreamed of for so long.

About

A lot of music teachers only focus on technique and theory. And a lot of teachers just show people how to play songs. We show individuals how to do both. Having fun playing songs and knowing technique and theory are equally important, because if you just learn songs, you'll only know how to do that and not really know how to play an instrument. While technique and theory are important, it can be boring and frustrating to focus primarily on that. At New Tampa Music Lessons, we balance musicianship and fun by making sure that with each lesson you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of method books to accomplish this and encourage students to bring CDs or their iPod to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes.

About

My name is Justin E. Walden, and I am from East Tennessee. My musical heritage stretches back to age 8 when I first started to learn how to play the guitar from my dad. He was the greatest musical influence in my life and still is. After exploring the guitar, I decided to venture out and try the banjo, then the mandolin, and finally the violin. I never really got into sports during my childhood, but I sure drove my parents crazy with squeaky strings when I first began to play. EXPERIENCE By and large, my full-time musical career started at around age 12 when I began playing with my family band, The Crystal Road Band. During my stint with my family band, I performed on average of 150 bookings per year. Here I alternated between instruments to fill in the gaps of lost members to maintain the full sound of the music. After 8 years of on-stage performance and studio sessions, I gleaned many insights on musical styles and concepts that have helped me in my musical career. While performing with my family band, I was able to also perform with some of the most talented performers such as Paul Williams & the Victory Trio, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, and many other great artists. GENRES PERFORMED Traditional | Americana | Classic Rock | Folk | Country/Bluegrass | Hip Hop | Pop | Contemporary Booking can be done directly via CONTACT page. I currently perform and teach music lessons in the Tampa Bay Area. I also am available to perform for studio sessions. Please use the Contact tab for more information.
