Bruce did a great job and now has a loyal customer. This year was the 1st time we had flea issues in our yard and Bruce took care of them. I would recommend him 100%.

We just moved into a home that was a foreclosure and had a roach problem. Once the exterminator came out we ceased seeing the roaches almost immediately. We have now requested to be placed on the quarterly rotation to insure that we have this issue under control. Citarella Termite was very professional, timely and reasonable priced.

Have a extreme German roach problem. Gerald was prompt in returning phone calls, very pleasant. He came early but called first, I liked that. Although I was pleased with his service, an exterminator I had in the past contacted me and I will be going back to him. Thank you Gerald.

The bed bugs, in our house, were terrorizing a few members of my household. After discovering the source of the itches and sores, I immediately began a search for terminator of bed bugs. Robert, from RamKil, was the first to respond to my project request and the 3rd or 4th exterminator I spoke to. He gave me a quote that was on par with the larger companies, like Orkin and Truly Nolen. Dealing with him, however, was a far more pleasant experience. After reading his reply to my request, I decided to call him. He answered the phone himself, not a computer. He was very pleasant and professional during the call. He allowed me to explain the situation, asked a few questions to clarify some of the information I'd given him, and then explained a little more about the bugs themselves, and how the process would work once I decided to move forward with the extermination (and I intended to waste no time). Once I told the same thing to my sister, we decided to choose Robert for our pest control needs. I called him back and we were able to schedule an appointment and he emailed me a prep sheet of things I needed to do to make it easier, faster and more effective when he treated. I did get the impression that he is very busy, however, and that I was fortunate enough to be in the right location, with the right problem, at the right time (he really did seem to enjoy himself, and was quite enthusiastic about killing bed bugs and restoring peace to their victims). When he arrived for our first treatment, he was very polite, friendly and professional. He explained everything, went a little more into detail about bed bugs and their life cycles, and why it was almost impossible to get rid of them by yourself. I decided he was most definitely right after hearing his report afterwards, and hearing all the places he found them that we never even thought to look. Hire a professional if you are being attacked by these things. We left, he did his thing and called when he was done. He explained what he found and clarified some questions I had about returning to the house. I would definitely hire him again. I was extremely impressed by Robert. The fact that he loved killing those things made the experience that much better. In fact, his enthusiasm reminded me much of a hobbiest and their attention to detail, making me that much more confident in his effectiveness killing them all.

I contacted Pest Exterminators and got an immediate appointment to meet at my business where I was concerned about our fruit rat problem. Jim arrived as scheduled and did a thorough exam of interior/exterior of my business and stayed and discussed with me all options. The quoted Thumbtack price was what I paid for the initial visit, laying of traps, and examination. I am very happy with every aspect of Pest Exterminators and extremely pleased with Jim! And later that night - we caught at least one with the work Jim did!

Hired them to remedy a severe flea outbreak in the yard and grassy driveway area of our new home. Scheduling team and on site team were all very responsive and accommodating to our needs and were also fast to respond with an additional treatment until fleas were completely gone. Very friendly, professional, and easy to work with. Would definitely recommend and hire again.

We had a terrible infestation for years in our Trinity, FL home. Tried other companies that made it worse. Ants ate through through grout, wallboard, came in droves from doorways, windows, any opening in house. Outside, our pool, deck, paver, driveways had mounds everywhere. The only thing that has worked & kept us ant free is the chemicals used by Steve's Termite & Pest Control. After a full cleaning & spraying outside, we rely on 90 day treatments. If we spy just one tiny ant mound or an ant on the counter- Scott comes right down to check & treat that area for free. We've had no termites, roaches, or those electric wire loving, big-headed tiny ants. We would never use any other company. Ants can do a lot of damage quickly to a home, as well as being unpleasant. We are estatic to be free of these bugs & to have such a professional, reliable service that really know their bugs & what works to get rid of them.

Timely. Professional. Thorough. Phil went above and beyond in his inspection of the property. In addition to a sound insect and mold inspection, his keen eye caught a major foundation issue, which ended up saving me from thousands in repairs.

The sales manager and all the people with whom I worked were polite, courteous, and extremely helpful. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

  • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
    • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
  • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
    • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
    • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
  • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
    • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.

How much does it cost to get rid of cockroaches?

Cockroaches are not only ugly, they are difficult to get rid of. Quick and resilient, they can be hard to get rid of without professional help once they have inhabited a house. Nationally, the average range for cockroach pest control cost is $80-$130. Extermination professionals typically provide a free estimate to determine the extent of the infestation. They’ll check for the main sources of the bugs, identify bug access and entry points into your home, and determine the best method for elimination. There are a variety of cockroach extermination tools including gel baits and traps, pesticide foggers, desiccants (which dry out the cockroaches), neurotoxins, and other pesticides. Pest control costs can also cover preventive measures like regular spraying and trap maintenance. Some regions of the country are much more prone to cockroach problems than others, so pest control costs may need to be part of your quarterly budget. Cockroaches love dark, humid, and warm areas and water sources, so place traps near your washer and dryer and under your sinks.

How much does it cost to get a pest inspection?

In general there is no cost for a pest inspection. Exterminators typically provide a free property or building inspection and then provide you with a written estimate outlining the necessary treatment and cost. The home visit allows the exterminator to assess the problem and let you know what your pest control cost will be if you contract with their services. You may need a termite inspection for real estate purposes. This will be a verified inspection showing that the house in question is termite-free (often done before a sale). The inspection may cost a flat rate, such as $125-$150, depending on house size.

It’s hard to predict pest control costs sight unseen due to the variety of factors that go into pest treatment. For example, a bedbug problem for one customer may be confined to one room and be easy to access and treat in one visit if the room is clear of clutter and the bedbugs have been caught early. In another home, a bedbug problem may also be confined to one room, but there’s a great deal of clutter, providing more hiding places for the bugs and requiring more spray and labor for the exterminator, as well as many pieces of large furniture in the room that need to sprayed. Depending on the maturity of the infestation, a bedbug problem may require multiple visits to entirely eliminate. This is why many companies provide a free inspection to determine pest control costs and provide you the most accurate quote possible.
