We are impressed with the level of support we have received from Jocelyn and will continue to use her services as long as possible. Our children have benefited greatly from the diagnostic assessment that was given in order to target weaknesses in their reading. We have continued to see growth in our girls' reading and writing.

Ms. Arp tutors my 9-year-old fourth grader twice per week with a focus on reading and writing. Prior to beginning her sessions, Ms. Arp met with me to gauge my child's needs. She was very thorough in her assessment of my wants and obviously very knowledgeable about best practices in teaching and remediation. I felt very comfortable being honest about my child's weaknesses and my fears for his future. Ms. Arp put me at ease, though, when she explained to me her plan for bringing my child up to grade level in reading. Ms. Arp spent the first sessions diagnosing my child's reading abilities. From there, she paid close attention to what he was doing in his classroom lessons, and her tutoring reflected the same subject matter as his teacher's lessons. If his class was working on identifying the main idea, that's what my child would work on with Ms. Arp during tutoring. Whenever I had a new idea for an area of focus, Ms. Arp always listened and changed her lessons to address those concerns. I feel like Ms. Arp is part of the larger team of folks who care about my child's education. My child has gained confidence and tangible skills thanks to Ms. Arp. I am grateful that we found a tutor who offered a convenient schedule and a reasonable rate. Giving your child the best opportunities in life should not exist solely for the wealthy. Ms. Arp allows my family to afford the extra academic attention while still having enough left over to keep my child in other extra-curricular activities. We could not have asked for a better tutor. Thanks, Ms. Arp!

Dite worked with our 5 year old son the summer before he started a very academic challenging school in Atlanta. In a few short months he was reading well above his age level. He is excelling in reading at his new school.

I have known Cameron Herman, professionally and personally, for six years. We became colleagues and friends in 2010 while graduate students at the University of Louisville. Since that time, we have supported one another with writing projects pertinent to our respective research projects. When it comes to writing and editingx Cameron has a keen eye for detail. He is also skileld at helping writers draft their ideas clearly. I have found that his background in stats is helpful in that he finds ways to use big data to corroborate qualitative research. Also, Cameron does well in keeping up with various research and writing technologies and resources. Recently, Cameron and I co-authored an essay for the anthropological academic journal, City & Society. Our work assessed the impact of gentrification in Houston, Texas and the efforts of local artists to combat this process of spatial change in the Third Ward neighborhood.

I am a classically trained PreK - second grade teacher, specializing in reading and math success for students in grades prek - second grade. My students read on a second to third grade level by the age of five and have scored in the 90th percentile (for reading in particular) on standardized testing (in a top ranked school district in the nation - Howard County Maryland). Relocating to the Douglasville area has caused me to continue to do what I enjoy the most. Feel free to contact me if you would like me to do an assessment on your child and begin tutoring.
