I highly recommend Jontell with Ransburg Maintenance. What started off as a request to fix 2 faucets that were left leaking by a prior contractor turned in o fixing 2 faucets, adding shower heads, attaching washer and dryer hook ups, and adding a ceiling fixture. He is timely, and explains any issue that you may have. I would recommend anyone to Jontell that needs a handy guy! His prices are reasonable and he guarantees his work!

Mr. V came to replace the liner in my washer and fix my dryer. He was available the day after I contacted him, and the repair took around 2 hours. Mr. V let me know when he was on his way to my home. Once there, he kept me informed by text message (my son was there, as I had to be at work) what was involved in each of the repairs and that he had the parts and could start the job right away. I was very impressed by this, as the usual appliance repair usually involves ordering the part and someone has to return to fix another day.) The repair was completed within 2 hours, I had left my credit card with my son, and he e-mailed me the detailed invoice and receipt. When I returned home from work, I was very happy with the way the washer looked. Mr. V had put some cleaning solution through the washer. Both appliances work great now! I will definitely be calling Mr. V from now on!

Outlet Replacement. I've had issues with what I thought was a dryer problem...replaced dryer after the first mishap. When it happened the 2nd time, I thought, there is NO way 2 dryers, from different manufacturers would have the same issue. So, I had a hunch it wasn't the dryer the first time, not the second time, and called Christian! He was prompt and courteous, didn't just fix it and leave...he showed me the problem BEFORE he made repairs. Thank goodness I hired him for this job...it was a catastrophe waiting to happen. I'm sure I'll run across other electrical problems and when I do...Christian (Haynes & Son Electric) will be the one(s) I call to do the job! You won't be disappointed either.

Made quick work and stayed true to his quote. I also had some heavy appliances (ceiling fan, replaced washer dryer left by the seller of the house) that he was willing to take off my hands. I got to cross 2 projects off my list thanks to him!

Nick did a great job installing curtain rods in our new home and finding a good solution for installing a dryer duct we were having trouble with. He also removed a storm door from our previous home to be installed in our new house. He was very courteous and professional and we plan to call on him again to help with a door installation in the near future.

Nathan was soo helpful and supportive of me while I worked with a company that surely did not know what they were doing when it came to fixing my dryer. Nathan was willing to speak with the company to let them know their diagnosis of my dryer issue was wrong. Nathan completed some other projects while replacing my dryer socket at a very reasonable price. He explained everything to make sure I understood what and why. He had all the supplies we needed. He was nice and courteous. I have received an estimate from him for some more work and I plan to hire him again.

He did an excellent job installing our washer and dryer on the 2nd floor after moving. I bought a steel drain pan for the washer and he had to adjust the drainpipe a bit. He cleaned up after the job was done and waited for the washer and dryer to work properly. While doing this set up our in-sink disposer stopped working, which he also fixed. A screw from construction was lodged in the disposer. We already have another job lined for him!

I am very pleased with the service I received from The Appliance Gals. I called them on Friday evening and they were able to service me on Saturday. The technician was able to give me a quote ahead of time and the job ended up costing even less than she quoted me. I will recommend The Appliance Gals to everyone I know because they do good work and they cost less than anyone I've ever used before. Plus they have great customer service and showed up when they said they would. I will use this company for all of my appliance needs in the future.

My home was flooded due to a malfunctioning with my washing machine. My washer is located on the 3rd level as a result all 3 levels were impacted. This happened on a Friday afternoon, Cutting Edge was quickly assessible and provided me with all the steps to initiate my claim. Their sense of urgency made a stressful event feel seamless. My wash room floor had to be pulled up, the ceiling on the main and basement level flooded, my baseboards and carpet was pulled up as well. My repairs were scheduled right away, the work was completed timely and professionally. They were honest contractors and ensured I was completely satisfied. It has been about year since the work was completed and I am still satisfied with the finished product. I would definitely refer Cutting Edge!

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

      • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
      • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
      • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

      How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.
