I ordered a custom cake for my grandmother's 75th birthday party. This was the 1st time I've ever ordered a custom cake & I was suuuper excited. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with what I received. 1. The cake was supposed to serve 20 people. We were expecting between 20-30 people so I also bought a dozen cupcakes with the cake. Please look at the pictures. This cake is barely enough for 15! The cake was tiiiiiny and I've never seen a 2 tier cake that small. After seeing this cake I had to go to the store to buy another cake so we could have enough to serve everyone. I called Ashley, the baker, to ask her why it was so small and ask if she had more cake she could bring to supplement and all she did was offer to bring the cake cutting guide. 2. The decorations were horrid. First the cake wasn't completely level. Second the only decorating that was done was throwing sprinkles all over the cake which was clearly half-assed work. 3rd there was cheap ribbon and fake flowers thrown on the cake to make it look "nice" but it looked thrown together. Fourth the word birthday was misspelled as "Birtday". Fifth the fondant letters still had cornstarch residue on it and the middle part of the cut outs were still there. I sent Ashley a picture of the misspell and all she offered was 15% of my next order. 3. The cake tasted mediocre. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good enough to make me look past the horrid decorations. The sprinkles on the outside made each bite crunchy and ruined the cake. 4. I didn't want to write a bad review because I figured it could have been an off day and I don't want to ruin a small business. To give myself time to cool off I waited 3 weeks then I called Ashley to discuss my experience and see if we could come to some sort of agreement on how to make up for this bad experience. However, Ashley didn't answer the phone nor call me back so here we are.

I reached out to Sandy last minute for a miracle—two wicked-inspired birthday cakes! She responded very quickly with ideas and suggestions and a plan of execution. The cakes were not only delivered on time, but they were exquisitely decorated and tasted delicious!! My daughters were certainly pleased with their birthday cakes!! Thank you Sandy for saving us. I have spread the word to other moms in our mom group who likely will be looking to use her talents as well.
