After my initial request to find a tutor for Spanish, Billy contacted me quickly with a quote. Within that same week he matched me with a tutor within his organization and we began our sessions. It was quick and easy and now I have a great tutor.

We hired Jocelyn for test preparation and writing services for my daughter's college admissions. We are also exercising options for Spanish classes with this company. There were a couple of reasons we hired Jocelyn. 1. She is knowledgeable about the ACT and what we could do to help our daughter succeed through the use of strategies 2. My daughter felt at ease and comfortable with Jocelyn the first time she talked to her over the phone. 3. We liked that Jocelyn and her team have more than one service avaliable. We don't have to hire out seperately for writing, ACT and Spanish classes. What puts the icing on the cake is that the work is quality and not mediocre.

We found Robert in the middle of the school year in 2014. Our 8 year old son was having a very challenging time with math, and his father and I were not able to assist him without us all ending up beyond frustrated. Robert is soft spoken, kind, patient, encouraging an effective! Our sons grades have improved, and he comes home from school telling us that math is easier for him than it used to be! We would highly recommend Robert to any parent considering a math tutor for their student.

I enjoyed the ACT tutoring course because I was given the same about of effort from my tutor, Mrs. Hypolite that I put into the lessons. She helped me increase my composite score 4 points. We set a goal, and focuced on each subject and where I needed to improve it. Our lessons were never rushed and I met each of my sub score goals successfully.

If you are serious about speaking Spanish, hire Timothy. He makes learning Spanish fun and gives cultural context to help understand deeper. Our lessons are a blend of disciplined text learning, fun listening and talking in Spanish about life happenings, reading out loud news stories about current and past events. We are only three months in and I’ve aready seen so much progress as evidenced by visiting a Spanish speaking country with my wife last week and being so much more comfortable talking. Timothy has pushed me to hear and think in Spanish rather than to be translating all the time.

I teach Spanish in a fast, fun and effective way. Unfortunately, I do not translate. I am also a former Berlitz language school director. You will learn the language the same way you learned your mother tongue. I have vast experience in teaching adults at all levels, and will make your learning experience a memorable one.

About

As a native speaker I can provide insight into the way Spanish is spoken at every level. I'm very patient and love to work with children and adults. I like to make sure concepts are understood by taking into account learning styles, setting up goals for every lesson, and having a lesson plan ahead of time.

About

I have a Bachelor of Arts' degree in English. I believe that teaching is more than imparting knowledge – it is inspiring change. Good teaching fosters sense of student control over learning and interest in the subject matter. I create learning tasks appropriate to the student’s level of understanding. I also recognize the right the uniqueness of individual learners and avoid the temptation to impose “mass production” standards that treat all learners as if they were exactly the same. In order for learning to occur, students need to connect to their own prior knowledge. Connections are like building bridges between the old and new. This building bridge can be brief or in-depth as long as it serves the needs of all learners. Reassessment determines prior knowledge whereas connections provides the link between old knowledge and new knowledge. I have been teaching AP Spanish and English for 20 years including two years at the middle school level. Each student learns differently and I always adjust my methods in order to get the best results from each learner. 98% of my students raised their English / Spanish AP grade from D to A; you/your child can, too. The role of a tutor is to help the student help himself. Tutoring is the short term answer to help the student gain confidence and learning skills. In other words, my objective is more than rote learning; it is about making connections to the real world. I include appropriate character development with real world connections with every lesson. Overall, I am trained to differentiate any lesson through scaffolding techniques, as well as rigorous assessment, making sure to present appropriate and leveled instruction. I look forward to meeting your student to see if we have an academic fit.
