The sessions are going well. Ila and I have marveled at our good fortune in having such an excellent tutor. I tutor for a living, so I know of what I speak. Ila says she understands what she's being taught and thinks she has a chance at remembering it. We can't thank you and your company enough for matching us up with such an exceptional teacher. I guess the proof is in the pudding so we shall see, but so far so good. One of the reasons that this is going so well is because these are one-on-one lessons. It coasts more but it's worth it. Billy and his staff at The English Island did a great job with the editing of my book. We did hit a few road bumps but they were resolved in a timely fashion and everyone was very much on task and professional. Billy is very attentive and goes above and beyond to make sure that his client is happy.

Ms. Arp tutors my 9-year-old fourth grader twice per week with a focus on reading and writing. Prior to beginning her sessions, Ms. Arp met with me to gauge my child's needs. She was very thorough in her assessment of my wants and obviously very knowledgeable about best practices in teaching and remediation. I felt very comfortable being honest about my child's weaknesses and my fears for his future. Ms. Arp put me at ease, though, when she explained to me her plan for bringing my child up to grade level in reading. Ms. Arp spent the first sessions diagnosing my child's reading abilities. From there, she paid close attention to what he was doing in his classroom lessons, and her tutoring reflected the same subject matter as his teacher's lessons. If his class was working on identifying the main idea, that's what my child would work on with Ms. Arp during tutoring. Whenever I had a new idea for an area of focus, Ms. Arp always listened and changed her lessons to address those concerns. I feel like Ms. Arp is part of the larger team of folks who care about my child's education. My child has gained confidence and tangible skills thanks to Ms. Arp. I am grateful that we found a tutor who offered a convenient schedule and a reasonable rate. Giving your child the best opportunities in life should not exist solely for the wealthy. Ms. Arp allows my family to afford the extra academic attention while still having enough left over to keep my child in other extra-curricular activities. We could not have asked for a better tutor. Thanks, Ms. Arp!

Ms. Arlene has tutored me for the past two months. During those two months, I became more aware of my grammar when I write and speak. Almost immediately I started to notice the little things that needed to be adjusted. For example, I was struggling with my tenses and subject and verb agreement when speaking or writing an email. This makes my writing and speaking skills very poor. To improve these skills, Ms. Arlene gave me online account on which I could practice some language arts problems. She also give me lots of supporting to practice. During the first 15 minutes to 20 minutes, we share each other about our week, political points of views, or school systems. The purpose of speaking and sharing my thoughts is to improve my speaking skills. She corrects me with proper tenses while I am speaking. Also, during the weekday’s I send Ms. Arlene an email about anything. She responds with feedback and she restructures my emails to have a different perspective on different writing styles. Overall, Ms. Arlene is very good at what she is doing. She finds your weaknesses and builds her lessons bases on them. I highly recommend her.

Arlene is tutoring my 7 years old nephew in ESOL. She is very attentive and kind to the boy. He previously had problems in school with the language and home assignments, had been very reluctant to even go to school and have any social contacts due to his inability to express himself. Arlene helped him a lot, he became more self-confident and eager to learn. She is not only teaching him the words and grammar, she is making sure that he is getting rid of his foreign accent. And it helps a lot with the bulling problem in school. Thank you, Arlene, for the life-changing experience.

She was very well-prepared, very knowledgeable, and friendly. The lesson evolved based on my level of competency, so I continued to feel challenged. I woul reccommend her to anyone who wants to become conversational in Spanish.

Hemingway Services transcribed a lengthy interview that a family historian had done with my mother. It detailed my mother's life story. The transcription was beautifully done, in a timely fashion, at a fair price. I could not be happier with their service! Erica took real interest in my mother's recollections, which made the experience even more personally rewarding for both of us.

Charles Justus Garard, Jr. PhD I have known Dr. Garard for approximately 28 years and worked with him as a colleague, teaching at the college level from 1989 until 2003. During my association with Dr. Garard, I have observed his expertise not only in teaching and mentoring but also in his writing skills. He was exceptional at proofreading several of my documents and manuscripts, as well as offering other colleagues writing and literary assistance. In addition to his regular college teaching duties, he taught English as a second language on weekends to students in several minority communities in Atlanta. He traveled to China as a professor in English language, literature, and writing, where he served for seven (7) years. Dr. Garard has demonstrated an outstanding talent with the English language and is an invaluable asset to both writers and editors. Please feel free to contact me if I can offer further insight into Dr. Garard’s gifted abilities. Donald W. Blair 404-375-1435
