I was a Division I Athlete -- Boston College track and field as well as rugby. In 2006, my world was turned upside down when I was struck by a light truck while mountain biking home from the gym. I was left immobilized and in severe agonizing chronic pain (hip, lower back and knees). After spending a year in traditional physical therapy, chiropractors, pain pills, muscle relaxants, back braces, shock therapy, massages, and acupuncture, I decided to explore another approach that would give my body a chance to heal and strengthen itself. I spent the next three years working with the top coaches/trainers and specialists to learn exercise protocols to free my body of pain, to reestablish my ability to move in ranges that my body simply said it could no longer do. Due to the accident, I suffered severely compressed and herniated discs resulting in painful sciatica; my hips and knees felt as if it were bone on bone. After 3 years of intensive training, I moved better and have more core and structural strength than I did when I was 20 years old. Today , I am pain-free and again lead an active lifestyle which includes competing in triathlons, mountain hiking, and wakeboarding. My style of training incorporates all the methodologies that I found successful in restoring my health -- not just "show", but "go" training. These methodologies go well beyond traditional training that is taught in most trainer certification courses. I have and continue to educate myself and invest in the best tools and methods for my clients to achieve their desired goals. As an avid fan and amateur in boxing, MMA, football, track-and-field, I incorporate all the conditioning and movements into many of my clients' programs. Even some of my most passive clients seem to enjoy boxing. I have yet to work with any clients (even professional athletes) who were not challenged by my exercise and conditioning programs. My goal with every client is to teach them how to move with ease (effortlessly) to develop strength, speed and endurance. My aim is to make working out simple but effective and challenging. I will educate you as to the right way to build strength, improve balance, prevent injuries, and the best to keep your body strong, lean, agile, and always pain-free. Xcerfit provides a complete fitness program based on a thorough health-and-fitness assessment. Once we complete the assessment, you will be provided with an Xcerfit training and nutrition journal which has a complete strength training, cardio, supplement, and nutrition plan to guide you. As part of the fitness program, you will be training with our trainer at your home or our facility, 3 times a week for the complete duration of the fitness program. Trey is an amazing trainer!! I needed his help in getting my head back into working out. I signed up and pre-paid for 36 sessions with V last summer and plan to do even more. V was very flexible in his schedule and always had a well-planned out and organized routine for each of my visits. The 30 minute workouts were rigorous and thorough. I felt great, looked better and most importantly, improved my overall health thanks to V. I would highly recommend V as a private fitness instructor and plan to enroll with him again in the near future.
It's quite simple. Working with Delta and Anita at Change Is Now Fitness has turned back the age clock 15 years for me! I am healthier, and have not looked this good since my early 30s!! Delta works with me on strength, balance, agility, and stamina three times a week for 50 minutes. The type of work we do is centric to someone over 40 who might not be as active as they once were, or who might simply be experiencing natural decline due to aging. After each session, I feel reinvigorated. Cardio, yoga, pilates, and weight training are all a part of a VERY unique mix unlike anywhere I have ever trained or with anyone I have ever trained. His methods in training are revolutionary in my opinion. Anita provides Delta support in my training, and she keeps me knowledgeable about nutrition. She provides recipes and information on the best foods needed to make all the fitness training as valuable as possible. As a result it is very much up to the consumer to research their choices in order to avoid getting caught up with someone who is just fulfilling an opening. This is how I happened upon Anthony Gugliotta. I visited several gyms and even went as far as hiring private personal trainers in order to find the right fit for me. What I realized while exploring options is that there is a big difference between the instructor who trains as a hobby and the one who trains for a living. Anthony exemplifies all that I was looking for in a trainer. First and foremost, he lives a healthy lifestyle. He is the example of clean eating and working out. His lifestyle choices encourage and motivate me to give all I can to each workout because I know he is doing the same. He is organized and creative making each class unique. He gets to know his clients on a personal basis thus challenging each one individually to raise their bar. There is nothing easy about his workouts but, as a result, I leave feeling accomplished and proud of what I was able to do. I will close by saying I am not a fitness guru. I am uncoordinated, a little spastic, and I require a lot of patience. Anthony laughs a lot with (at) me adding the element of humor to each class. Time and money always lack for me so quality is a priority in everything I participate in. Jay Masterfitness Gee is my Go TO Guy for Training Period!!! Whenever I need to see progress in my body within a specific time frame, he helps me to meet those goals.
