We contacted Plumbing Tricks to install a new electric hot water heater. While communication was great at first it changed on the day of arrival.
They were scheduled to arrive between 8am and 9am. At 9:45am I contacted them to be told they’ll have a tech call me. I then received a text message stating they were in route at 9:52pm but they didn’t arrive until 1:30pm.
They installed the new electric water heater but wasn’t able to test it to see if it works as there was an electrical issue.

Of all the plumbers we contacted, Kenny was the most responsive and also transparent with the pricing. That pricing (for a water heater install) was among the better quotes we received also. The job was done promptly and Kenny was friendly and explaining things throughout.
Unfortunately, after Kenny had left we noticed gas was leaking from the flange nut on the gas line where it was connected to the water heater. Obviously with a gas leak we would prefer the plumber to promptly fix it, but Kenny was getting ready to leave town. We were able to resolve it ourselves anyway with some teflon tape.

Virgilio and Luis from Tek Design did an amazing job with my electric tankless water heater installation and I am so ecstatic to have had them on this job. One of my best Thumbtack experiences of all time!
I had an existing hot water heater that needed to be taken off the wall and replaced with a new one but realized during the process of the job that there were several other issues in the original setup from the previous homeowner: namely bad electrical wiring preventing adequate power to my unit.
Not only did the Tek Design team handle the original job as requested, they went above and beyond in their service to ensure that my unit was setup in the best way possible.
They did this by doing little fixes that many would have charged me an exorbitant amount for:
- replacing copper plumbing for PVC
- installing the electric tankless unit and thoroughly testing for leaks and faults
- rewiring electrical lines to ensure the unit was properly powered
One thing that made this job better than most was the professionalism and care for quality this team shows. They are quick to do the work and do a great job everytime.
They even fixed an issue I had with my doorbell as a courtesy.
I’m looking forward to working with them again on other needs!

Do not look any further!!! 10/10 all the way!! Arshia and Chase helped me install the the water heater today and I wish I had met them long time ago way before I hired other plumbers for plumbing work at my house and rentals! The thing about plumbing is that you gotta trust their work. They don’t cheap out on materials and they don’t take shortcuts. They corrected so many shortcuts and wrongdoings other handyman/plumbers did in the past! They will make sure their work is perfected to the highest level of quality.
