Hello! My name is Amy, and I am a nationally certified school psychologist, chairperson of special education, and highly experienced professional tutor. I live in Pooler, and have an office in my complex where I will meet tutoring clients which is centrally located in Pooler in the Godley Station area. I typically do editing projects over the Internet. My schedule tends to fill up fast, so contact me soon for any upcoming needs! My teaching style is very kind, calm, and patient. Because of the fact that I am a school psychologist, I totally understand and sympathize with learning difficulties. I have many different strategies I use. I never use a cookie-cutter approach. My tutoring is tailored specifically to my clients' individual needs, education/special-education needs, and learning style. I am very patient, and I have been told many times that I am able to explain very complex concepts in a simple, easy-to-understand manner. I love to work with students of all ages, and that shows in my always positive demeanor and excitement to help. Your success or your child's success is my success, so I am very personally invested in providing the highest level of services. I believe when people can overcome difficulties, it really builds their self-esteem and belief in themselves which is so important. I am very supportive and encouraging. I am also very compassionate and emphatic. In my spare time, my life is consumed with animal rescue. I love working with animals and with people. It is my life's mission to make a difference. I am also very highly educated, having studied a top-level school in my field and oversees. I am bilingual, speaking French and English. I would love to work with you or with your child, take the stress of learning away, and turn the educational experience into a very positive one filled with success. I have 18 years of experience in psychology, special education, and social services and have completed nine years of college and graduate school with several honors including nearly a 4.0 GPA in both programs. I was one of only two students accepted into my graduate program the year of my acceptance. I am a nationally certified school psychologist who specializes in students with disabilities and behavioral and academic difficulties. I also serve as the chairperson of special education. As a tutor, I specialize in working with school-aged students on learning, study skills, and organization. I can also provide consultation to parents for behavior management as part of this since I am a behavioral specialist. I work with a lot of college and graduate students, especially in the area of writing and research. I have exceptional writing and editing skills, as I write extensive scientific reports daily in my work as a psychologist and have done a lot of research. I can help you write a very strong paper or help you complete research with the utmost quality. About

I have loved numbers since I started school. I think I would have been a mathematician, but calculus killed me. My favorite subject is algebra. I love it. As a kid, I remember having the one-minute drills and loved the competition. My love of numbers has led me to a career in bookkeeping. I understand the story that numbers tell and like nothing more than helping others understand them. My tutoring experience started while in grade school and hasn't stopped. I have tutored graduate school classmates in statistics, worked with Champion Learning Center (in NY) to tutor HS students, and I am currently tutoring my sisters in college. In helping students understand the subjects that are most troubling to them, I only ask that they stop saying, "I hate !". Getting students to accept that a particular subject is difficult and possible to understand is the key to them understanding that they can conquer it. Excel is probably my favorite program. I have been using it for over 20 years, beginning with my summer jobs. I taught myself how to use it. I have created elaborate spreadsheets using the program and continuously teach myself anything that I want to do with it. By profession, I am a bookkeeper, so I use QuickBooks quite a bit and know that I can teach you the basics. By the nature of my profession, I have taught many people how to use Excel and QuickBooks. To date, I have not found anyone whom I cannot teach. In addition to the subjects and topics discussed, I can aid students with general homework help, study skills, all math subjects leading up to algebra/college algebra (preferably not geometry) and French 1. I tend to request the syllabus for each class, so that I am aware of how fast the class is progressing. The syllabus also aids in creating the lessons for the student and how to integrate lessons for maximum impact and understanding. I can come to the student. All I ask is for a quiet study place. If one cannot be provided, we can meet at my house or at a place near the student. I look forward to working with you and know that there is no subject that is too difficult to understand!
