Giulia is amazing! I struggle with learning languages and she is the best person to be there to help! She has the lessons personalized and knows exactly how to help through each step of learning the language!
Laura is very proficient with coaching English as a second language. She will teach you the skills to interact with people (e.g.: in your line of business when you are in their country) who speak other languages. The skills include learning to be comfortable with the second language, and not just with the words themselves.
I have been working with Victoria Reeves for 4 years now and I must say that her teaching/help is outstanding! Not only have I been able to improve my writing skills grammatically, my vocabulary has increased tremendously. Her personality is very fun as well, so whenever you're taking classes, you won't feel bored or ready to fall asleep. That is one of my favorite parts about being tutored by her. It breaks the image of a traditional, dreadful tutor. You get to learn for someone with a bubbly, lively personality while getting studies done. I definitely recommend her!
I have been taking Spanish lessons with Cristobal for coming up on a year and French lessons for the past 6 months or so. While I am sure that there are plenty of choices for tutoring this may be the only teacher I have had that I can honestly say has far superior methodology versus all my other professors. I don't say this lightly either, I say this coming from years of experience with other teachers in various settings. Just to give a little background, I studied Spanish for 3 years in high school, then studied in Mexico at a vocational school in a completely immersed environment (living with a host family of non-English speakers) far from the reaches of most gringos in a small city called Cuernavaca. I have worked with native Spanish speakers that speak very little English for 10+ years, studied Spanish in college for 4 semesters, and even studied with Professor William Slavin for two years in weekly private sessions, a local scholar who spoke English, Spanish, French, ,Italian, Portuguese, and Hebrew. While Slavin's approach was very thorough, Cristobal's approach is practical, more natural, and aimed at speaking. Ole! Spanish School isn't just another business in the sea, it's a place with an authentic philosophy and a natural approach to language learning. To make the experience even better, his rates are super reasonable and he has a very easy going personality that creates a relaxed environment. His positive ratings exist for a reason.
I have not played in about 30 years and felt kind of funny wanting to take lessons again. Suzanne is very encouraging and has helped me find my joy of the piano again. I am so happy!
Chumei is an excellant Chinese teacher. We took Manadrin lessons, and each lesson was well planned and engaging. The children loved learning with Chumei❤
I had a great experince taking accent reduction lessons with Cindy. She is very clear when teaching the matrials. I am very happy that I learned new ways to sound words that I used to say them wrong.
My highest respesects to Mrs. Corral and Bright Children 2nd Language Program. Mrs. Corral is an excellent Spanish teacher. My two children have been studying with Mrs. Corral for two years: not only have they learned Spanish so well, but they genuinely love her class and have developed a new love for school again! Thanks! Bill Morgan
I´ve only been working with Cristobal for a short time due to my work schedule, but I´m very comfortable now with speaking and reading Spanish. I really like his approach to teaching the language and his passion for it. He also has group meet ups so that you can enjoy speaking with others on your proficiency level and continue gaining confidence in your speaking ability.
Just had our first lesson with Mrs. Franca. She has a solid strategy and teaching plan for helping our daughter speak the language. We especially appreciate her positive and encouraging attitude and punctuality!
Myrna was awesome
I highly recommend Strategic Tutoring by Mrs. Mack. Financially I am struggling to make ends me but wanted to help my children succeed in school. Since my good friend also had children that needed extra help, Mrs. combined the kids into 2 small groups which gave them the support the needed and kept the hourly fee down. Instead if paying $45 an hour my girlfriend and I spent $28 an hour which was manageable. Mrs. Mack tutored my 9th grade son and my friend's 10th grade daughter together at the Geneva library. She selected reading, writing, and science topics materials that were intetesting to the kids and also pertinent to what they were studying at school. She took the time to talk to the teachers and even was involved in a conference at the school. The kids were very eager to see Mrs. Mack each week so we actually increased the time to 90 minutes a week and I am happy to say after a few sessions the classroom teachers noticed significant improvement in their reading fluency and comprehension even in biology and modern world social studies and this was reflected in their grades and attitude. My younger son in 3rd grade was tutored with my friend's 2nd grade daughter. Mrs. Mack took time journal writing back and forth with both of them secretly working on writing skills which did help to improve their essay and creative writing skills. Her positive attitude and friendly demeanor created a spark in the kids and after about a month they made significant progress in decoding words more automatically, understanding what was being read, increased rate of math computation, and improved writing structure and creativity. The kids actually understand and know how to apply various strategies that Mrs. Mack taught. She spent time with me explaining these strategies and providing me with a "strategy cheat sheet" so that we all ( teachers, parents, tutor) used a common language when guiding or reminding the kids how to solve a problem with reading, writing, or math. Mrs. Mack went beyond what I ever expected in a tutor and her experience with ESL, Special Education, Behavior Disordered, and Gifted students was apparent wben she took initiative to set up some enrichment activites for my 5th grader on her own time!
I cannot say enough about Amina. She tutored my daughter in French throughout high school at Hinsdale Central and then again in college over one summer. Amina always knew how to make the material understandable to my daughter in a way that she could comprehend and begin to understand the structures of the French language. She was patient but challenging at the same time. I know without Amina's help my daughter would not have been as successful. Her support gave my daughter the confidence she needed to conquer the language. Our schedule was very busy and Amina always worked with us to make scheduling tutoring time possible for both of us. She was always on time and would always follow up if the schedule needed to be changed. I highly recommend her to anyone.
Julianne was wonderful with my daughter! We look forward to continuing with her singing lessons.

OUR MISSION To enrich the American education system, helping children discover the world through language, culture, and connections. OUR VISION Language Adventures will change the way children see our multilingual world by fostering an early love and curiosity for other languages and cultures through innovative and engaging education methods. OUR TEAM Language Adventures teachers all have degrees in education, language, or both. They speak Spanish natively and have extensive experience in the classroom with children of all ages. Our curriculum team uses only the most recent research in early childhood education and language acquisition, as well as their many years of experience in full-immersion classroom settings. Preschool Adventure classes For children ages three through five, we capitalize on their increased desire for independence. At this age, children are able to learn through social play. This is why Preschool Adventure classes focus on role-play activities, competitions, and collaborative projects. Our small class sizes allow our native-Spanish-speaking teachers to engage the group as a whole, as well as address the individual needs of each child through one-on-one interaction. Elementary Adventure classes Kids ages five to eight still love being silly, but they also crave guidance in reading and writing as well as instructions for more complex games and puzzles. For this age group, we strike the perfect balance between academic challenges and getting kids to giggle, all while immersing them in the Spanish language. Preteen Adventure classes As children approach the end of the “window of opportunity” for acquiring a language naturally, they require a slightly more focused method of language instruction. In these classes, we tackle the written language and a wide variety of vocabulary and grammar structures without ever resorting to instruction in English or rote memorization. Our Private Spanish Classes Private classes are a great way to ensure that your child is achieving their specific goals with a high level of attention and interaction from a native speaker at the most convenient location for you. Our world-class teachers who excel in larger groups also make some of the best one-on-one or small group tutors out there. Only the best teachers All of our Spanish teachers are native-speakers with extensive experience in early childhood education. Since our entire team uses Language Adventures’ research-based curriculum, each teacher is able to focus on delivering lessons that meet each child’s needs and result in consistent impressive results. My rates are as follows: - $40/hr. at a student's home within 10 miles of Wood Dale, IL - $20/hr. at my studio in Wood Dale - $15/30-minute lesson via Skype I am a guitar teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching all different styles of music, including blues, folk, acoustic, funk, ska, rock, metal, melodic, country, classical, punk, alternative, and various other melodies. I have played concerts all over the state of Illinois, and I have taught many students throughout the years. I teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced players. I am very passionate at what I do, and I will guide you through the proper steps in becoming a great guitar player. Playing music takes a lot of time and patience as well as a lot of practice playing by yourself and in front of people. I am very relaxed and motivated to help my students learn, and I will guide you through everything. I would prefer that students bring their own guitars, so that you would be more comfortable playing their own instrument. If you can't or do not have one, I have guitars here that you may use but during our sessions only. Check out my video. With a lot of practice and a lot of studying, I can show you how to play like a pro and have fun! Lesson Details In my curriculum, students will start off by learning the basics of the guitar, knowing the parts and accessories and so forth. Then, we will move on to tuning and perfect pitch. As we move on, students will learn how to build and maintain a rhythm. Learning how to play chords is essential, and we will be going through chord progressions and how to recognize and memorize the various chords. Furthermore, I will be showing students how to read tabs and write music. I will be showing students the different types of scales there as well as the keys that they are in for those who want to become soloists. I will also be teaching different techniques that are incorporated with tapping on the fretboard as well as various other techniques. All of these lessons will be taught in our private sessions, and each student will receive homework assignments, so that he/she can go home and practice what he/she has learned. I will be having tests later on, in which I would ask you to play one of your favorite songs. With enough time spent practicing, you can become a master of your instrument. Studio Equipment Basement studio: amps, guitars, wah pedals, music stands, guitar picks, and music sheets. Travel Equipment I have an amp, wires, picks, guitars, gig bag, case, music sheets, picks, and music stands.
