Jessy was amazing! She helped my wife relax and stretch some tender muscles (back and calf)! She has that special ability to just let her personality take you on a ride because she truly loves what she does and leaves you feeling better afterward! I'd recommend her to anyone!
Pete teaches practical self-defense in a low-key, easy-to-grasp manner. Unlike many schools, he doesn't believe in a "one size fits all" curriculum or that students have to be super fit to defend themselves. Instead, he works with each student to develop moves that work for them, drawing from a variety of martial arts like kenpo karate, krav maga, filipino martial arts, and others. It's cool to see and even more fun to learn, so if you're looking for a skilled instructor, you owe it to yourself to give Pete a call!
A gym Danny was previously employed at paired me up with him as my trainer. I signed up there after spending two years at a boxing gym. My goal at the time was to incorporate more strength training into my routine, but continue boxing from time to time as that is a workout I truly enjoy. Ive been training with Danny now for almost a year. Prior to working with him, I had a lot of mixed feelings about working with a Personal Trainer. I no longer feel that way. Ive done strength training, boxing, kickboxing, and circuits with Danny. He continues to help me break bad habits I developed from my previous boxing gym. Im never bored with my PT sessions, I actually look forward to them and that is very important if youre just starting off making a lifestyle change, or continuing to maintain a healthy lifestyle. In June 2015, Danny put me up to a challenge to lose 6 lbs before my next weigh in with him, and with hard work and determination, I lost 8 lbs that month! This was after bouncing around the same weight for the past few years. This gave me the motivation to participate in a 90 day challenge at my gym, which led to me getting back down to my High School weight from 20 years ago. I highly recommend Danny has a trainer. His work with clients isnt just a job to him, its a passion. He brings a lot of experience and expertise; he has an awesome personality, is extremely positive, and wants to help you succeed.
I first met Chand about a year and a half ago when he was teaching a kickboxing class at my gym. A couple of months later, I started doing private boxing sessions with him. Chand has pushed me to continuously challenge myself. He has helped me achieve more than I thought I could, as far as strength, power, and agility. If you want someone to hold your hand, that's not Chand. If you want an "in your face" trainer, he's not that either. If you want someone to push you, challenge you, and help you achieve your goals, Chand's your guy.
I researched several martial arts dojos, particularly from a childrens perspective since two of my kids (8 and 5 years old) wanted to learn self-defense techniques. Victory Martial Arts stood out as the leading dojo. They have a unique way of integrating the time-honored traditions of respect, self-discipline, and confidence, with the relevant combat techniques of MMA, best suited for modern-day defense situations. My children love going to class, are eager to practice at home, and embrace the mat chats at the end of each class, which focus on being a better person. Having full confidence that my kids were in good hands, we decided to make it a family affair. My wife and I also train at the dojo and the adult classes are phenomenal. They are suitable for adults (male and female) at different age/skill/fitness levels and goals. As a 39 year old male with limited experience in combat sports, I was a little intimidated my first day. That feeling dissipated within minutes. Everyone is helpful, welcoming, and there are no egos. For those with a strong competitive spirit, a competition team is available for advanced training. For women who are a little apprehensive, you will find comfort in the female only kickboxing class. I encourage you to utilize their 2-week free trial period. You will not be disappointed. They also offer affordable family rates, although you will quickly become a grappling dummy to your kids.
Elliott has been my personal trainer for over three years now. I am 59y/o and have worked out all my life. Elliott is the best trainer I have ever worked with. He is affordable, inspiring, and leads by example. He walks the walk. He designs a program that has put me in the best fitness of my life. And I enjoy feeling this way. My favorite part of the program is kickboxing!!! Check him out!!! You won't be disappointed, I promise. That is if you are serious about getting in shape.
Coach Qwik is an excellent instructor. He is hands on and pushes me to compete. I look forward to the training and to becoming an excellent fighter.
Ryan knew what he was doing and got me to loose my baby weight the healthy way! He didn't just stop at the gym, he had me eating better and gave me great advice as to what I could be doing at home to help! Great guy, great business, and great results! Thankyou again Ryan!
I've know Nick for several years and have never been disappointed with his training sessions. his non traditional methods are a challenge but they produce results. We have done many things from Kettlebell training, obstacle courses, used indian clubs, and gymnast rings. Nick will mix it up and not bore you. He has a vast amount of knowledge and is willing to share what he knows to get the best out of anyone willing to dig deep inside themselves. Aside from my experience in the military Nick is the most intense person I have ever trained with. He is tough, does not sugar coat anything and will tell you if you're doing something wrong. If you're looking for someone to hold your hand and tell you what you want to hear then Nick is not the guy for you. If you're looking for someone to push you beyond your limits and tell it to you how it is then this is the guy. As long as you're mentally tough and not a quitter you will greatly benefit from the experience.
I should start by saying that, while I often read them, I NEVER write reviews. That being said I felt that my experience warranted one in this case. I first met coach Miguel at a place called Hybrid Martial Arts & Fitness, which I strongly recommend looking into if you have any interest in trying out or further improving your skills in Taekwondo, MMA, Muay Thai, BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) and more. The staff is quite friendly and have shown me nothing but kindness since my first day there. Additionally the vibe is not an egotistical one, a problem that definitely exists at other gyms. Regardless of your amount of experience everyone is welcome and everyone is safe. But I digress. Initially I went to Hybrid to hone my skills in the sport of boxing. I took some group classes then started training with Miguel one-on-one. Now you should know that before I even came to Hybrid I had a strong foundation in the fundamentals of boxing and have learned from men and women alike over the last 4 years who have either boxed competitively or have been practitioners of the sport for a long time. It was not until I began training with Miguel that I realized how much I still had to learn to truly become a boxer. Each and every session is well thought out. Of course the basics came into play first, there were many foot work drills along with heavy bag work, mitt work, as well as thorough concentration on head movement and sparring. What really impresses me with Miguel is that he takes time to learn about your background in other areas and will then incorporate it into your training regimen. For example, I have a background in wushu (kung fu) and a little experience in taekwondo. With that in mind, Miguel was able to take very small elements of what I had learned in those practices, specifically foot work, and tie them into my training as a boxer. This was very unique, in my opinion, because it helped me to not only better my skills but also create a certain style and become a boxer of my own. Every session was educational and challenging. Sparring is safe and controlled, never overbearing. Most importantly, Miguel has a bonafide passion for his craft. Encouraging, punctual, and dedicated are just a few of the words I would use to describe him. If you have even the slightest interest in boxing, or any combat sport, I strongly recommend signing up with coach Miguel. He's nothing short of a true martial artist. You won't be disappointed.
Mark is a amazing trainer. I have had 5 other trainers before mark and by far mark is the best! He is extremely knowledgeable , passionate and really loves what he does . Every day I see him he has a smile on his face and is so encouraging ! My goal is to shed fat, build muscle and become more flexible after 4 months with mark all have occurred! I could not be happier and highly recommend mark !
Angel's a great, very flexible trainer.
Larry and all of his staff are beyond wonderful! With his coaching and guidance I was able to achieve a life long dream of becoming a boxer, and not only a boxer but a Golden Gloves champion and Wisconsin State Champ. I could not have achieved this without his experience and know how. I am forever grateful for his knowledge in conditioning and strategy. The classes are fun and challenging and you will find all that you are capable of. There is not a better gym in the area if you want to get fit.
I am writing to say a few words and express my support for Bert Witte of Buffalo Grove Martial Arts. I have worked with Bert for over a year and have immensely enjoyed my time working with him. He is clearly an expert in the various martial arts which he teaches, always conducts himself in an extremely professional manner (and insists his staff does as well), and while he is always serious and respectful of the material he is training he displays the same respect to each individual in his class. I have previously taken martial arts classes at other locations but never really stayed with a class for more than a few months - to be honest I just never enjoyed it enough before, or felt as if I was getting enough out of it to keep going. I have found with Bert, however, that while his classes are serious and intense he has a way of making sure each class is a rewarding, enjoyable experience. He has a great personality, knows when and just how much to push, and is always tremendously supportive. In short he takes his classes very personally and makes sure they are conducted in the manner which he expects. Not only would I recommend Bert to anyone I have already recommended him to various family members who now also train with Bert and as well.
My Clients enjoy the training methods and learning new techniques to stay focus and in-shape.

I am an instructor and a personal trainer at POW! MMA in the West Loop. I teach the children's martial athletics classes, strength & conditioning classes, and also adult boxing. I have done martial arts for most of my life. I am a certified personal trainer and also a certified Krav Maga instructor. With me you will get a full body workout focussing on functional strength and martial arts technique. All while building a solid core. I am a self-defense instructor in the U.S. Marines. I am the owner of several schools in Chicago and Indiana. I have instructed police officers and students alike, including seniors.
I am a personal trainer because I enjoy making a positive impact on the lives of others. The most important part of my job is helping clients reach their goals. It really gives me a sense of accomplishment knowing that I helped change someone's life.
I am not some meathead fitness model trainer who gets by on their looks and genetics. I am a lifelong martial arts practitioner. I dig deep into the science of exercise and weight management. I understand the importance of exercise for a happy and healthy life but i also am down to earth and easy to get along with. In 2015 I developed Cancer and had to go through 2 major surgeries as well as 3 months for Chemotherapy treatment. It was very hard for me to go through and was incredibly humbling. Since then i have quit my corporate fitness job and went on an international trip for 5 weeks. Now I'm ready to bring my skills from the corporate world to the public. I'm willing to work with you to design a customized program that will get you the results you are looking for. I have worked with the most fitness-challenged to amateur fighters. I have a ton of ideas, portable training gear, and knowledge to share.
