Karen Kellams helped me cull through the clutter and reclaim my FINISHED BASEMENT as a beautiful PLAY SPACE for my 6yr-old and a GUEST BEDROOM. I had moved, after my husband's death, to a smaller home and had decided to clear out an expensive 10ft x10ft storage unit. Karen's way of operating - her willingness to do the shopping for storage bins and other needs and to take the donations away in her car at the end of each session - really make more healthy decisive decluttering possible in a shorter session. Her compassionate, respectful, calm and positive attitude is a game-changer when life change adds emotion to letting go of things. Karen inspired me to look at what I had and in a second round, helped me cull a tremendous amount and organize and clear MY BEDROOM to create an OFFICE SPACE out of a danger zone of "stuff that needs to be kept away from the youngster" that I had piled at the closet end of my master bedroom. She inspired the change-up of my CHILD'S BEDROOM, moving a dresser into the closet and moving in a child's desk I had just sitting unused in the guest room, that helped facilitate my school kid's more appropriate use and enjoyment of her own personal space and alone time. Karen did not stop and yet was not at any moment pushy or impatient. At one point, an unexpected find and spill of years old liquid vitamin supplement nearly had me in tears and Karen just cleaned it up, took out the soaking box to the trash and kept me from trashing a perfectly good, brand new bed protector by tucking it in the washing machine and saying, "that'll be fine after a wash." Karen Kellams has a keen eye for spacial arrangement, a flexible and generous personality, the willingness to go the extra mile, and the easy honest communication to help you see your stuff as useful in ways you hadn't thought of, rather than leaving you clear but needing to spend a ton on new storage units or furniture. I will be calling her soon to tackle our kitchen!
