Ole Spanish tutoring is a wonderful experience. I have had many tutors in languages and he makes the experience interesting and fun. We learn a lot and have conversation and still get vocabulary. He also uses different teaching tools which I love. Also, he doesn't go too fast or too slow- he mixes it up. I always had tutors that went so slow and I didn't get enough from the class but this isn't the case with Cristobal. He is willing to answer questions and always makes you feel good about answering. He is very encouraging. Don't hesitate to take with him. He is very thorough and good at teaching Spanish. I recommend him 100% and still take Spanish with him now.

Granush A. Hi, my name is Granush. I speak Armenian, German, Russian and English. I learnt English with Marina for almost a year. I was already fluent but wanted to reach near-native proficiency. Marina’s classes were really efficient and very well-organized. I liked them a lot. Marina is a motivating teacher. She always gave me a lot of speaking practice. We also worked on academic reading and writing and discussed academic articles. I am totally happy with the results of my work with Marina.

I was taught by Jack in my college. He helped me a lot, not only in my study, but also gave me a lot of instructions and suggestions in my future options. When I applied for my master degree, he helped me search informations about different universities and majors and wrote me recommendation letter. Also he really made a lot contribution to my college, which is North American college Jiangnan University. He got up early every morning to help those who study English in the morning, help them speaking, reading and pronunciation. I really appreciate his help, with his help I successfully enrolled in Australia National University, majoring in master of actuarial studies.

My daughters reading and comprehension was really holding her back. she started in 6th grade reading at a 4th grade level. At the end of her sessions she is reading on an 11th grade level. Her comprehension is on an 8th grade level, and increasing all the time. She has learned valuable tools and now has a love for reading.

Mrs. Maikisch has really helped my daughter a lot. I have seen the progress of my daughter reading level and her comprehension. She has been very flexible with me with my work schedule to help my daughter build her reading comprehension and skills. My daughter was struggling in reading, but now her reading is a a lot better. Her reading level was at a first grade level but I have seen her reading progress tremendously. Thank you, Mrs. Maikisch

I´ve only been working with Cristobal for a short time due to my work schedule, but I´m very comfortable now with speaking and reading Spanish. I really like his approach to teaching the language and his passion for it. He also has group meet ups so that you can enjoy speaking with others on your proficiency level and continue gaining confidence in your speaking ability.

After completing the ACT prep course at Learning Ascent, my son got a composite score of 30. English: 32, Math: 33, Reading: 29, and Science: 26. He took the writing portion too, but we do not have results for that yet. Prior to tutoring, his score on a practice ACT test was a 26. The tutors Sean worked with helped him improve his scores. Overall, very happy with his results!

About

I am currently a senior at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale where I work three jobs and plan to graduate in December 2015 with a general Bachelor's of Arts and a minor in Psychology. My BA is a general major, but entails over 100 credit hours in education and special education courses. Also, I have completed over 50 hours of observation in a functional classroom at Warren Township High School. During my time at SIUC I have had the opportunity to work as a library assistant at Morris Library and a research assistant for the Tracking Rare Incidence Syndromes project which seeks to increase awareness and knowledge for families and professionals touched by rare trisomy conditions and aims to facilitate improved decision making for optimal services and supports for affected children and their families. Additionally, I work as an academic and functional coach for Options Transition to Independence, a transition to independence facility which works with young adult with disabilities ages 18-21. Over the summer, I plan to challenge myself by working with child and young adults in a variety of academic and functional skills. I believe these experiences and my knowledge will help individuals in need of more support academically and/or functionally and socially. Note, I am not a licensed special education teacher at the moment, but I have experience and determination to help your child as needed.
