I am an 18-year-old guitar player majoring in jazz guitar. I can teach beginners the basics of guitar and reading music.
He is a good teacher and very patient about to teach me. And provide me a good guitar skill. Give me lots of confidence when I'm playing guitar. Great teacher. Suggest use him. 👍
Gordy has been my keyboard (piano and organ) instructor since 2002. I started learning the piano as an adult. I've had piano and violin lessons in the past, so I'm experienced with teachers. Gordy is the best private lesson instructor I've had, which explains my long experience with him! He's the perfect blend of a teacher that inspires, yet isn't pushy toward perfection. He also instructs my wife and two children (ages 6 and 9). We're currently doing this in our home, which has worked well, and all 4 of us can take lessons in an evening. Gordy is also a great piano tuner/repair person, and has kept our 90+ year old baby grand which has been in the family in good repair. I can definitely recommend Gordy as an instructor for students of any age or ability.
It was a relaxed environment and very professional.
I give music lessons for vocals, guitar, drums, and even brass instruments. I have over 7 years of experience playing music professionally for churches. I currently work at Vineyard Church in Sullivan as their assistant worship director.
I work well with any range of ages. I have taught guitar to kids ranging from 3rd grade through just out of college.
I do musical recording/guitar teaching. I teach the music theory. Music band artist, Jack Zhang, had his music performance major study in the Parkland College.
I give 30-minute private lessons once a week. I give all ages, from pre-school to adult, lessons by using a material that is suitable for the individual person. I try to make the lessons fun and use motivations.
I've been playing guitar for 20 years now and have been giving lessons for five years. Whether you are just picking up the guitar for the first time, or just want to learn a different technique, I can help!
I've taught and performed acoustic guitar for over 20 years. I teach fingerpick style guitar and there is no note reading required to learn. Beginners are welcome, as well as anyone just wanting to get better. I am very affordable and provide hour-long lessons not half hour like most other teachers or music stores. I reside in Champaign in the Hessel Park area, about four blocks from the University of Illinois. Go to my webpage for true testimonials!
When you think of great musicians of the past, they were pretty much all composers: Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, etc. These composers were highly sought after as teachers. They were the instructors with whom other musicians wanted to study. Since I am not only a musician, but also a composer, I bring a unique element to music instruction that most ordinary teachers lack. In music, as with any field, the people who create the art have a greater knowledge and understanding than those who simply execute the art. For example, if you wanted to study architecture, youd learn a lot more from an actual architect than from a carpenter or a construction worker. That's not to say that carpenters and construction workers dont know something about architecturethey do know a little. But they do not know nearly as much about the house they are building as the person who actually designed the house. Likewise, there are piano teachers out there who can teach you what notes to play and which fingers to use, etc. But they do not have nearly the level of understanding about the big picture in music as those of us who are composers. So, before you pay another teacher $100+ a month for lessons, I would strongly encourage you to ask, are they just another run-of-the-mill piano player? Or are they someone who can really teach you about music? I am not just a piano player or piano teacher. I am a composer. And I can teach you much more about music than 99% of the teachers out there.
