My elementary age daughter has been involved with school musicals since kindergarten and asked for private voice lessons to help her become more confident with solos. Ms. Evans was recommended by another student, and my daughter couldn’t be happier with the training she’s receiving. Ms. Evans bettered her ability to read sheet music and has worked with her vocal quality and projection while following a structured lesson plan that has encouraged my daughter to push herself toward the confidence she was seeking. Now that she’s achieved her goal, she’s looking forward to furthering her vocal education with Ms. Evans. We recommend Ms. Evans to anyone who wants to learn to sing.

Allison was my vocal coach from January to June 2012 . Keep in mind that I had NEVER taken any sort of musical training, much less performed for anyone. During those 6 months she patiently and expertly taught me the fundamentals of both singing and reading musical compositions. Allison has a bubbly yet patient personality which lends itself well to teaching. At the end of my 6 month training session, I sang in front of an audience for the first time ! It's something I never would have accomplished without her guidance. It's a shame she had to graduate from school (kidding, sort of) - she's truly an awesome vocal coach and person

I took lessons with Allison for about 2 years. I have some background in music and have had several other teachers in the past. Allison's contribution to my growth and development as a musician has been by far the largest and most lasting. Allison's talent and dedication make her an excellent choice for new and experienced singers, male or female, opera geeks or indie hipsters. I recommend her without hesitation!

Allison is a wonderful teacher - she is an incredibly talented singer, and infuses in her students her own love of singing & music in general. I remember leaving my first lesson with her feeling like I was hearing my own true voice for the first time in a long time, and it just got better from there!

Lessons are offered on a weekly basis at the following rates: $70 intro lesson
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and attend workshops, talks, send students to competitions, keep up on singing journal publications and regularly read new (and old) books on vocal development.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Singing has been in my blood, but teaching is where I find the most joy. I love communicating the joy of singing to everyone and believe every person should have the opportunity.
