Chitown trainers are phenomenal. Matt is a very strong motivator and extremely knowledgable about muscle groups, nutrition and general fitness. I've been training with Matt for about 6 months and have lost 6% body fat and gained good quantities of muscle. I'd recommend Chitown to anyone who wants to get fit in a healthy way, but is unsure about the path

Dan has been training me for the past 8 weeks and since we started working together, I've seen an incredible improvement in my strength, and my figure--this week I was able to fit back into my favorite pair of work pants that I haven't been able to fit in, in a year! When I first met with Dan I hadn't worked out in literally 2 years and was really nervous about all of it; however, Dan devoted an entire session to simply understanding me, the current state of my health, my habits, and helped me define where I wanted to be in my ideal future state. Dan then put together a customized program to ensure we could get there. As a woman, my one of my biggest concern was around "bulking up" from weight training as my body type lends itself to this if I'm not careful. I shared this with Dan and despite what I was sure would happen after the weight training, he's somehow made plan that made me smaller and noticeably toned up, and definitely not bulkier! In parallel, Dan has also really helped me with my poor eating habits--I'm a busy executive with little time to care or prepare food that is consistently healthy--and I sure do love Chicago cuisine. But every visit Dan would casually ask me what I planned to eat for the week and then give me directives on best options, grocery store lists, crackpot recipes, how to store my food, when to prepare it, and even where I can stop on the way home to get what I need for the next day :). . Dan has been a God send and reinvigorated my belief that I can take care of my health, actually meet my fitness goals, and truly enjoy it. I've absolutely loved, enjoyed, and seen results from every single session with Dan. I can't rave enough about how great a trainer he is and his attention to every aspect of his clients fitness, and overall well-being!!

Andrew got me through some nagging weight loss plateaus and walls when we first started, I had lost over 35 pounds on my own and I was getting frustrated at the constant walls. I signed up for a consultation with him after, and than I quickly signed up for a set of sessions. I'm reasonably sure I've been signed with him for over a year and a half now, and I am very pleased with the progress I get. I had a lot of difficulty even approaching the free-weight section of the gym before him due to insecurities and lack of knowledge of how best to use the weights - having a personal trainer to show me what to do in that area honestly opened a new world for me there. Since then, I feel ten times more comfortable in the gym and knowledgeable about how to use the machines and the free weights to my advantage. He's very personable and while he's obviously not doing this for free, I do feel like he cares enough about what he does to value me as person moreso than just a dollar sign. He asks questions about my diet and routine and how my progress is going, and just does seem to care that you're getting the results you want versus just locking you in a contract and counting the minutes 'till the next session. He keeps everything fresh each routine - we rarely do the same thing twice. Better yet, I find myself incorporating the things we do outside of sessions during my own gym time. He pushes me and I've been able to do things during our sessions (3 sets of 30 second push-ups in a super set for example) that I never thought I'd be able to do before. He knows that I want to be pushed and kicks my ass (although I'm certain that this cannot be the same mindset for his other clients - I've made it clear that I want to get stronger and progress and he has paid attention). If anything could've been better, it was that when I first signed up, he essentially had me at square one when I had made progress on my own pretty well. It was a bit frustrating to begin with, doing lighter things, but once he got a firm grasp on what I was capable of doing, he kept the progression natural and now has and is continuing to up the intensity of workouts. There were also a couple times early on when I felt he may have been making this up as he went along, but I chalk those up to still getting a feel for my strength and fitness level. I won't sign up with anyone else. If a cheaper alternative comes by, I won't sign up with them. He's affordable and knows my strength level and where I'm at, and I feel like anyone that's seriously committed to losing weight and getting fit could benefit from signing with him.

The best way to describe Fit for All is FAMILY. I love the community approach to fitness- everyone (not just the trainers and staff) is SUPER encouraging. The trainers are personable and knowledgeable and classes are suitable for all fitness levels. I have a bum knee and they’ve been great with working with me so it can heal. Also, new programming each month prevents boredom.
Private personal training at Balanced Fitness is the only way to get fit. Clean, bright work out space. Private one on one training. Great music and Gary makes every workout fun yet challenging. Never a dull moment at Balanced Fitness.
I am going to Phyllis for personal training. I had tried personal training before, but found that most trainers are just people who decided they liked exercise and had no real expertise AND it cost a fortune. Phyllis has knowledge and experience, and she keeps in mind that I am 65. I am pretty healthy but the crazy "kill you kind of exercise" is not a wise choice for me. Phyllis challenges and pushes me but also doesn't damage my body!!! I know she works with young people and she designs their programs completely differently than mine...that is what a knowledgeable trainer can do. One of the many things I love about her is that she is on time, reasonably priced and listens to me and thus can teach me in a way that I learn - this is very rare and it is wonderful. I recommend her without any reservations. She will help you gain strength, lose weight and gain muscle, who ever you are!

Joe has taught me so many things so far in strength training! Every session I walk away with something new...I found him to very adept in the area of fitness. I also appreciated the fact that he knows exactly when & how to modify the movement(s) which keep it challenging & beneficial to me in obtaining my goals.
Ms. Wade gets all high marks for being an exceptional motivator, engaged & interested in my well being, professional, modifies exercises to my fitness level, a cheer leader. I'm sure if you prefer a drill sargeant she can do that too. She also explains each exercise and the benefits to keep you going. Finally, she has a pleasant personality which is truly an asset.
Chris Lee is a great trainer was training with him for a while before I moved out of state or I would still be working with him. He go me to where I wanted to be fitness wise. He taught me alot of different excercises that I still use. He good at working out every type of muscle group. He will be there to push you and get you where you wanna be. Remember though results a two way street. You have to be dedicated outside and inside the gym.
Brent has been my personal trainer for 3 years now. I had never worked one-on-one with a trainer before I met Brent. I started with just once a week, then twice a week and now three times a week. If it were not for Brentâs knowledge, encouragement and patience, I would have given up long ago. He took the time to ask and listen regarding my goals and physical limitations. He has constantly tailored my program to help me achieve short term goals, as well as working toward long term goals. He has an encouraging and challenging way about him that has you doing things you never knew you could, and he does not bark or bully you. I never thought I would spend the time or money to work with a personal trainer, but with Brent as my trainer, I cannot imagine stopping. I now live for the challenge!
Love working with my future trainer. She's excellent at scheduling workouts around my busy life, and the variety I get is far beyond what I was able to do on my own. This is really a great program if you want the accountability of a real person plus the convenience of being able to do workouts wherever. I can do workouts when traveling, at home, at the gym. They also customize the workout to the gear I have available, which makes it super easy. It's also great having an app to reach out to my trainer, rather than waiting for my weekly training session to ask questions. Megan's very punctual with responses, and very understanding with all my concerns. Overall this is an excellent service. Much recommended.
