Job site was a 70+ year old brick and stone home on the north shore of Chicago. Tore off and replaced roof on house and one outbuilding. Removed and reset two wooden decorative lintels over a Garage door. Tuck pointed exterior stone chimney and brick areas. Tuck pointed an interior fireplace. We solicited bids from three providers for both roofing and tuck pointing. So a total of 3 siding bids and 3 roofing bids. AB Edward was the only one that offered both services and gave us an integrated bid, with a discount for doing both together at the same time. We chose that due to no chance of 'finger pointing' and accountability with one provider. Plus theirs was the most competitive bid as well. Their bid was lower than the others but also responsible in visiting the site, taking photos of the work areas, etc. So they came in with a pretty good view of what needed to be done backed up in their estimate. There were caveats in their estimate on areas that might be an up charge, but in the end, their estimate remained firm to actual. One provider did not even visit the site but used Google earth to estimate the job. We wanted more attention to detail than that provides. With all the rain we have had this spring, they were delayed for about a month +/- to their original schedule, but kept us informed via email as to schedules a week out. Their sales person was very responsive and great do to business with. Their tuck pointing and roofing crews showed up at the same time and took about five days to complete the work, including working on a Saturday and late into the evenings. Their work ethic, attention to detail, cleanup and protection of the shrubs, lawn and flower beds were all excellent. Everything was well protected and every evening they cleaned up and kept the area clean and safe. At the high point, we had 9 people on site at once, so they can scale for larger jobs that need to get done. I had received them as a recommendation from our architect, and was very pleased with their work overall. We have asked them to do some more work for us on two dormers needing siding repairs. Highly recommended.

Took off old cedar shake roof , gutters & flashing. Hauled away. Installed heavy weight cedar shake roof, new flashings, vent caps & new larger gutters. Everything went very smoothly. I was kept up to date when the project would start. The crew is amazing. They are so hard working! They arrived everyday between 7:15-7:30am. They were also friendly & respectful. They cleaned up everyday. The owner is hands on. He came to check on the job, and at the end took a though look/inspection of the roof. He takes a lot of pride and the workmanship of his crew and quality of products shows. On a side note, I got 3 bids for the project and they all came in at around the same price. I ended up going with this company because a lot of my neighbors that had them were just so pleased with them. I will update if there are any issues in the future. Hoping for none:)

Replaced my roof, gutters, downspouts, soffit ,facia, spot tuckpointing, living room window, and front door and storm door. From the initial visit to provide a quote to the last visit when they finished my front door everyone involved was very professional, prompt, and courteous. There were no surprises and the work on each phase went smooth. My roof was very old and I honestly waited beyond the point where the work should have been done. Chris Ryba was honest about what he found from the start and the extra charges for replacement of plywood that had rotted was expected and within the range we discussed prior to the roof tear off. Chris didn't just expect me to take his word for it either he provided pictures of what they found as they found it so I could see for myself any additional problems. The gutters, soffit and facia project was finished after the roof and was performed as expected. I requested to have as much of the water directed towards the front of my house and they gladly complied and did their best to do so. The window and door were ordered and came in about a month after being ordered. Chris kept me informed of manufacturing and delivery dates so there were no surprises. The work on the window and front door went very smooth. Billing was very efficient. Other than the initial deposit for the job they did not bill me for any part of the project until it was finished and they made sure we were satisfied with the result. They also left the outside of my house as clean as could be expected. They kept everything covered and cleaned up on a daily basis. My wife and I are very happy with the work performed.

With so many contractors out there it can be difficult to choose who is "right" for you. I am so happy I went with A.B. Edward Enterprises. From the friendly voice on the other end of the phone followed by the professional and very informative project manager they assigned to me to the flawless, quick and well done job they did on my house , I can EASILY give this company a 5 star review! Their pricing was in line with their competitors but the service and immaculate clean up job they did after they replaced my roof and gutters was amazing! There was not one nail, piece of paper etc. to be found anywhere on the ground. Not to mention my house looks great! Thank you so much A.B. Edward for a job well done and you can be sure I will refer you to my friends and family as well as give you my repeat business!

I am a builder in the City of Chicago. I am not easy to get along with, i am particular, i am a detail freak. That said you would think i am here to complain about AB Edwards. Not at all. My normal siding guy got too swamped last Fall and couldn't get to me due to the complexity of the job and the fact that Winter was going to be upon us in a matter of months. I couldn't get anyone in the city to help and I know a lot of siding companies and other builders who I called. I had used Bo years ago and did not think of him because he was so far out in the burbs, and i imagined that i was a pain in the rear on the last job. Well what surprise. He accepted the job and had Kris and a few other helpers finish the job in record time and impeccable detail. I will never use anyone else. Quality and Service were second to none and Bo was fair as the day is long regarding extras and things that came up!
