Our son called it "The Brown House," because his friends would all know which one he meant. No one else had a brown house- especially with blue trim. It set us apart, and not in a good way. We always knew we wanted to paint, but it wasn't until we thought we had everything prepared for the refinance on our home, and were told unexpectedly that the chipping paint on the house's exterior would have to be fixed, that the decision was made for us. We needed a painter fast, and one who wasn't out to make a quick buck doing shoddy work. Guadalupe's estimate came in well below the others'. With a baby, a six year-old, an eighteen year-old, and a dad who left his job to stay home with them- plus student loans, occasional Master's classes, and a broken-down car- we needed something very affordable. Guadalupe was confident that the job could be completed quickly, but then we hit our first snag. The color we had chosen, based on another painter's recommendation, was terrible for the house- it looked much lighter than expected, and didn't cover the imperfections on our aging cedar shake shingles. Guadalupe had completed more than the entire east face, and could easily have finished the whole house with a color that we would have been very unhappy with. Instead, he recommended that we talk it over, try some different colors, and let him know what we decided. He cared more about our satisfaction with the work than with anything else. He even offered to use the rest of the unwanted paint as primer, which he would apply free of charge. We chose a more appropriate color, and throughout the rest of the painting process Guadalupe continued to offer suggestions for making the house look nice while cutting down on costs for us, even if it meant more work for him. Even without doing so much to go above and beyond, the value to us went further than a freshly-painted house. Going with Metro Striping and More meant avoiding the financial strain of a huge painter's bill; it meant a clear path to our refinance, which is now saving us even more money; it meant adding value to our home and to our neighborhood using someone who has a personal stake in our satisfaction; it meant being able to recommend Metro Striping and More to others who will be helped as much as we were. Now, thankfully, my son can start calling it "The Beautiful House."
I hired Jason (Jay) Lambert to powerwash my driveway and front sidewalk. Jay's bid was 1/3 of the other 2 vendors. He was the only one who came by to look at my driveway and walk and recommended using a chemical to remove the rust stains on the driveway. He completed the work while I was out of town and wanted to come by after I returned to pick up the check because he prefers to meet his customers in person and ensure the work was done to their satisfaction. The driveway and sidewalk look great and I appreciated his attention to customer service. Combined with the price he quoted, he was clearly the best choice
Unbelievable service!! My yard was badly overgrown and Tommy went out of his way to give me same day service. He was very kind and professional, even giving me advice on how to handle some pesky weeds. His work was quick and impeccable and I will happily refer him to everyone I know!
Deck and house exterior cleaning: arrived on time, provided sufficient staff for speedy completion courteous and gave quotes on other projects with reasonable prices. Will be using them again
Nestor and crew did a phenomenal job on my garage. The price was higher than I anticipated, but the work that needed to be done was also a bigger job. He needed to replace damaged drywall & seal a lot of cracks and nail holes. Nestor was there on time, superior craftsmanship and patience all the way. He even matched the texture--this was more than just a "paint job." I feel like the value of my garage just doubled in value--it really looks great.
My bathtub is very old and the finish is worn off. It needed to be repainted. John of Happy Families gave me a very fair price, brought the materials he needed for this project, arrived on time, completed the project, and left the area clean. He also gave me advice about a few other areas in my home that need attention. I will definitely use Happy Families again!
Phillip's integrity is above reproach. His attention to detail and unwavering dedication puts him above all the other painters I've dealt with in the Ft. Wayne area. The next time I have a project in the Ft. Wayne area you can be sure that I will hire Phillip.--Bob Enger, Project Superintendent, Horizon Retail Construction
He took the time to remove siding off the entire back side of our garage to use it for repairs and then replaced the back side of the garage with new siding. This prevented us from having siding that didn't match due to fading. Jon did a great job. I would highly recommend him and wouldn't hesitate to use him again for any type of repair work.
I give Shane five star thank u Shane for redoing work had done by someone else that did a horrible job. You rock!!!
We had decided to paint the complete exterior of our house from barely 2 tone drab gray to an updated 3 color scheme. It would require a meticulous attention to detail & masking off to create clear lines. It also required listening and understanding of which specific colors, 2 of which were subtle variations on a tone, were to be applied. I was concerned that a 1-man crew could adequately power wash, mask, paint, remove masking, re-mask, paint, etc. a 2-level house. That's a lot of going up and down ladders, sometimes at an awkward angle. Because I wanted clearly understood expectations, I expressed that do Dan, which he welcomed graciously since he asks for interactive feedback during the whole process before - after completion. 1) He did what he said he would do. 2) He showed up when he said he would. 3) He listened, understood & executed almost flawlessly. 4) He stayed at it daily, weather permitting, and completed in a timely manner. 5) The cost was reasonable, a tremendous return on investment. The ONLY thing I would have had him do differently is hold off spray painting the facia adjacent to the roof shingles on a day that was a bit too breezy; the overspray stuck to an area of shingles facing the street. He did catch what was happening and stopped & it will wear off & fade. The 5-star rating is well earned and deserved, we have already highly recommend Dan, dbpainting!
I needed the subfloor floor replaced in my 2 bathrooms, also some electrical work done. Anthony came and gave an estimate. His prices were more then fair. He was one time and very polite. He started work quickly and worked fast. He kept to his estimate to the best of his ability (the one bathroom was a bit more work.) He even made time to come back and check his work a few days later. I will definitely be using his company again.
We hired Greg Griswold to paint our Victorian 3 - story home. It has cedar shingle siding which means it had to be stained. He power washed the entire house first since we live on a street that has a lot of truck traffic and the diesel exhaust leaves a coating of oil on the siding. Because it is Victorian, it needed several colors of paint/stain applied. I believe 6 colors total. He then sprayed and back brushed the stain on the siding, and brushed the paint on all the trim. We were very pleased with his work. It took nearly a couple weeks to complete, but it is a big house. Not a reflection on his speed, just the size of the job. I would rather have someone take their time to do it right than to rush through it to get to the next job. Again, we were pleased with the results! We put the job out for bids, and some bids came back outrageous, figuring they didn't want to tackle the job, so just threw out big numbers hoping it would stick. Greg came with a bid that wasn't the lowest bid but he did say he would match the lowest bid. Because of knowing his work and reputation in the past around this area, we chose him. Don't get me wrong, even though there were lower bids we would not necessarily have chosen those if we did not like what we heard about their work, so was willing to pay more for a better job. We learned that lesson the hard way when we took the lowest bid to contract a guy to roof our house. I understand it's up in the nose-bleed area, 40' off the ground with all kinds of angles, so not to many wanted to tackle it. We chose the lowest bid, big mistake! Every day I'd come home from work and something was messed up. Crooked lines, you name it. Was not happy! So Greg's bid was in the middle range, but he did offer to match prices. Greg's work has stood the test of time. House still gets a lot of jaw dropping and favorable comments. I would recommend Greg to anyone. And would not hesitate to ask him to do work for us again. One other thing, as he was on the job we found 2 porches that we originally forgot to mention needed painting, and he got them painted as well. I've seen a lot of work Greg has accomplished in the area, and it has been excellent! Very detailed stuff too! No job seemed to big for him.
