I really enjoy learning from Tracy! She is a very warm and approachable person. From my lesson, I could tell that she really knew what she what teaching me! That made me feel comfortable about learning more from her. She has so much knowledge to bestow on everyone about Music Theory, songs, etc. I believe that learning the piano or any instrument could pose as a job opportunity. I feel that Tracy prepares me to play locally and/or professionally!

Alex was a pleasure to work with. I found him to be communicative, mature, and highly expressive and technically outstanding as a musician. He played cello in a dance piece I created for a professional dancer from abroad. We both felt that was excellent in the process and performance. I recommend him to anyone, anywhere, anytime. I was looking for a short term cello teacher for my 11 year old daughter while her regular teacher was on summer break. City Strings and Piano responded right away and sent a teacher to my home working with the days/hours I preferred. Victor, the cello teacher, was fantastic! He only had four lessons to work with my daughter on her seating audition pieces. She arrived at the audition feeling confident and well prepared! Victor was punctual and extremely helpful in describing the mood of the pieces..explaining dynamics and bowing techniques to improve her playing. He was very patient and friendly...using a bit of humor to engage my daughter and make her feel at ease. I would highly recommend Victor and City Strings & Piano! Loved the convenience of a professional, highly qualified teacher coming to my home!

Francisco is a great instructor and plays cello very beautifully. I have had lessons with other cello instructors and it's a lot more laid back and easy-going with Francisco.. which tends to keep you comfortable and actually engages you to progress forward faster. The pace is good and challenging, and his insight into both technique and repertoire history adds a lot to the whole lesson experience. I look forward to continuing my cello lessons with Francisco for the foreseeable future. :)

I had decided to start taking cello lessons later in life at the age of 50, and Clair offered a very supportive and engaging teaching manner to kick start my endeavor. Her abilities as cellist and teacher offer any student wonderful instruction and inspiration.

We love Bellas Artes! The teachers excel at combining technique and joyful discovery within an atmosphere of encouragement. My kids LOVE their lessons with Destiney and Constance and, more importantly, are learning to love to play music while being challenged and encouraged. Having such talented musicians who are so gifted in working with kids is such a blessing! Practically speaking, it is great because with 5 kids it is huge to have both piano and violin lessons in the same place, and they are always gracious in working with my schedule. We highly recommend Bellas Artes!

Jonathan has taught the High-school drama group at the fine arts program my family attends for a few years now. He is very hard-working and will always do his best to help students grow, learn and excel at reaching their goals. His class was informative and fun, and I recommend him as a teacher.

About

I teach mainly piano and violin lessons; however, I will and can also teach viola and cello lessons. Unfortunately, I am unable to teach guitar lessons. I charge $20 for a 30-minute lesson, and I am currently fully available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I do not have an age preference, and I try to be as flexible as possible.

About

I have over 15 years of experience playing the cello and piano. I am primarily looking for gigs at the moment, but also interested in doing lessons. I have performed with orchestras such as the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, the NIU Philharmonic, the Dupage Symphony Orchestra, and the Wheaton Symphony Orchestra. I have experience in a variety of gigs including weddings, parties, and charity fundraisers. I am very professional and easy to work with. I am always willing to take requests provided they are done in advance, and I have a lot of repertoire to choose from. Most of my music is classical, but I do have experience playing popular music as well (I have a book of David Bowie songs for piano that rocks). My primary instrument is the cello, but I am also well-versed in piano. I am available to do solo performances on cello or piano, as well as cello with piano accompaniment and chamber music (usually violin, viola, and cello). I know many musicians in the community, so it is no problem to find additional players for your event. Please be aware that if you require additional musicians, the rates will go up. My rate is $150 per event, but this is negotiable depending on travel time, duration, setting, etc. I am aware that it may seem expensive, but remember that musicians have to dedicate many years of practice to get to a professional level and that we have expenses as well. If you are interested in having me perform for your event, let me know and I'm sure we can work something out.
