Guitar Chicago is the best option for music lessons in Chicago! Their instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and supportive. They do a fantastic job of working with you to achieve your individual goals. I started as a beginner with no guitar knowlege, and they helped me achieve my goals of playing multiple open mics and music events. I've also been able to meet and work with other Guitar Chicago students! They are always willing to work with my busy schedule, which is very hard to find with other schools or group lessons.

Wiebe is the best, most trust worthy guitar teacher ever! It's a lot of fun to play and learn here. Students are super cool too! Best thing is that sometimes you can even make a small band here!

I got SO much more than I asked for connecting with Altered Stage. Not only does my membership get me access to unlimited guitar lessons with an awesome teacher, it also includes a great space with all the equipment needed, a welcoming community of likeminded and friendly recreational musicians, and the chance to play on-stage with my fellow members once/month. I went from being the guy who could play chords and learn simple songs through tabs to someone who understands music theory and feels comfortable jamming with strangers at the drop of a hat. A huge change from where I started and not at all what I expected. AS gives members the chance to get involved as little or as much as one wants. I could not recommend them more to musicians at any level.

I've taken guitar lessons over the years and Fran is the best instructor, I have ever met. He has the ability to teach and convey theory in a very concise and organized manner. His blueprint process helps you become a better player.

Sarah is a great piano teacher and my boys look forward to their lessons every week. She has expectations regarding practice time, recital participation and having a good attitude, which are all great life lessons. I am very pleased with her services and would highly recommend her!

I took lessons through Mclain's mind of music for one reason; to learn how to play "Green Hill Zone" on Piano. Thanks to Kevin, I can say that I accomplished that goal (granted, 2 years after he left but you get the idea.) Because Kevin was my teacher, I've moved on to learning a couple other songs as well (although I could always practice more than I do.) When Kevin was giving lessons in Chicagoland he was the most affordable piano lessons, regardless of if it was hourly or half-hour (short of having a piano whiz for a grandparent who would teach you for free, which I do not.) Improve, I guess a couple times he was 5 or 10 minutes late for the appointment, but that's only because he would DRIVE OUT to the kid's house and be stuck in traffic on the way back (which is totally understandable, considering what an excellent musician Kevin is.) If you take one lesson, you'll feel the same. Young or Old, Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced Kevin can teach you how to play.

I am the kind of teacher who wants you to play what you want to play. I am not going to make you learn to play all of my favorite songs, I want to ask you what songs you want to play and sing so you can have fun while we work on it together.

My experience comes from major recording deals, published and released original songs, major touring performances with major acts, ProTools recording knowledge to date which as a package it gives me the edge in mentoring younger talent in a way that book knowledge can't offer. I have many years of guitar experience including Rock, Classical and Folk styles both on electric, acoustic and classical guitars. I'm well versed as a song writer, I sang in bands and classically in the Oak Park Concert Choral as a tenor.
