Introduction: Your physical, emotional and spiritual health depend on the free flow of energy (prana, ki or chi), via the energetic body. Any stress, psychological insult, negative emotion, and physical injury can create obstructions in the body's energy system and the energy flow, and ultimately cause disease in the physical body. Energy Therapy is the removal of these blockages to begin to restore us to a healthy body, mind and spirit. Reiki, in particular, is a natural, hands-on healing technique used to promote relaxation and reduce stress. Reiki utilizes the Universal Life Force and this energy is transmitted through a practitioner's hands. Reiki is energy medicine and practitioners are "attuned" to become transmitters of the Universal Life Force or Reiki energy. The energy is transmitted by laying on of hands on the body's energy channels, the meridians and nadis and energy centers, like the chakras. Experiences are very individualistic as the energies work on the physical, mental, emotional and/or spiritual level depending on your needs. The energy healing supports well-being and strengthens the natural ability to heal by encouraging balance. Energy healing does not claim to "cure" chronic conditions. People in good health also benefit from Energy Therapy and Reiki as the energy assists in managing stress and inducing harmony, while offering a deeper sense of peace. Through my own intuitions and through self-study, I have developed a unique approach to Reiki and it is truly a gift to share this healing system with my clients and students. I have also studied the ancient healing system of India, Ayurveda (Life Knowledge) and I am able to provide my clients' specific recommendations in terms of diet, exercise and mental/emotional health. I am also a student of the Dattatreya Lineage of Sri Kaleshwar of Penukonda, India and I study directly with Kaleshwar's most senior Western student, Philip Lipetz, PhD. I incorporate these teachings and practices into my healing work.
