Cesar assembled an Ikea bed frame, headboard, and slats for me. I read online that it's one of the most difficult things to build and we needed it assembled quickly since we have guests coming over. Cesar and one of his helper came a day after my request. The job took them 3 hours and they did a really nice job.
Jose did a fall cleanup and planting. Cutting back grass, luropi, day lilies, tall hollies were cut rounded as requested, soil was added to improve grading, mums were put in and mulch all around. He did a great job, was pleasant and I will hire him again.
Ed Bilo and his team did an amazing job on our house! We had all types of weeds, ivy, and just plain old nature growing on our home, and even through the walls. I had to plant trees, install sprinkler system, pave walkway. I did some research to find some landscapers. Finally found EBRR and Ed gave us the best price, got it done in a day and did a great job to make sure it does not grow back. I would highly recommend using EBRR Property Maintenance Services and I am thrilled with the work that Ed and his team did. Thank you so so much!
Trenton is AWESOME. My parents and I attempted to build an IKEA wardrobe for approximately 4 hours, ending in a near divorce and having to take it all apart. Trenton built the entire thing in ONE HOUR, by himself. He was very easy to communicate with ahead of time and a very skilled professional during the entire process. He assembled the wardrobe perfectly and for a very reasonable price. Do yourself a favor and hire Trenton for any handy-work you need done! I've already passed his name around to everyone I know.
We hired Gold Coast LLC to grind down several tree stumps, build a drainage trench and a patio, and to put sod down in our backyard. Carlos and his team were absolutely wonderful! They not only showed up on time every day and to our scheduled consultation, but they were able to complete the job beautifully and quickly. They even took down a tree for us, which was not part of the original plan, and they were very fair about the pricing for that and the stump grinding for three stumps we had in our yard. Carlos was professional, polite, and did an amazing job laying down sod and building a patio and a drainage trench for us...I would recommend him and his company to anyone! Thank you so much, Carlos, for turning our disaster of a backyard into something beautiful! :):):)
This company deserves overall a Zero! I hired them to help me move my 1 bedroom apartment from MD to DC. I should have cancelled it from the very beginning when they wanted to charge me extra money for using my credit card vs cash!!?? Moving day: The time for arrival was set for 4 pm. The owner kept on postponing the arrival time with various stories why they were being late. I told them we needed to be at my building by 8pm as that was the end of the moving in time window and the building loading dock was closing at that time. I send several texts and tried calling multiple times to the company. They arrived close to 7 pm. WE arrived at my building late. I had to waste my time looking for a security guard who was kind enough to cooperate with us and let us use another loading dock which was a real hike to my entrance ( another extra hour wasted) . My plants were broken and I feared other items did too. And I was right. I demanded discount for the service and to be also reimbursed for the broken items. we negotiated discount and as I was tired and frustrated i agreed to 15% off. As for the reimbursement, I was told to send them all the photos of broken items and estimated cost. I did. Even after a number of emails and phone calls and almost 2 and a half months after the service, I have not been reimbursed yet. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE
Herbert was great to work with. We had work on a few things for our office, handyman tasks including building a wooden frame to cover a bunch of wires, cutting a table, fixing a door, hanging few things. Our job was 2 days long. He arrived on time both days, the first day he went to home depot to buy some supplies we didnt have, kept the receipt, he was very honest about his costs and time. Proficient with his work and is very handy, easy to communicate with, nice guy. Will definitely work with him again!
Working with Ed Hernandez is great. We have used Personal Landscape for Maintenance and this year we are installing a garden with them. Ed is always available by text or email, is very responsive and works hard to be sure you're getting the right plants for your soil and sun conditions. Highly recommend.
I turned to Nas Construction as a full service provider company. As a mother of 2 whom works a full time job, I find it very helpful to have someone take care of the process. Nas Construction took responsibility of everything, leading to the renovation of my kitchen and 2 bathrooms. They contacted the management company and ordered the materials. This allowed me to focus on other aspects of my life and not to worry about the construction. During the countertop installation, we had a bit of a glitch. The countertop cracked. I was panicking since I needed to cook and used my kitchen. Jhonathan totally took on the responsibility and apologized. I had a beautiful countertop installed in my kitchen in less than a week with the help of there materials dept. I was very pleased with the final results and the way I was treated. I recommend Nas Construction to those of us who need to renovate their kitchen or bath and cant afford to dedicate so much time to the process that leads to the construction and completion.
We had Henry build a custom entertainment center for us. From the very beginning he was very responsive and always came through by doing exactly what he said he would. He came by once to see the space and hear my ideas. Not only was he receptive to my ideas but he also came up with his own suggestions as well which I really appreciated. After our meeting, he followed up with a sketch/quote and then returned again to take additional measurements and make sure we were still on the same page before starting the work. The cabinet he built is absolutely beautiful and the quality is excellent. He even helped save me from making the wrong decision about the stain color. He has gone above and beyond and I would recommend working with him to anyone. Thanks, Henry!!
Henry was AWESOME. He came to build a dresser I bought online, and I was stunned at how quickly and effectively he got the job done. And there was no clean up for me to do afterwards, which was a nice bonus. Add in his very reasonable prices, and I'm sold - I'll be contacting him every time I have a new piece of furniture to build/assemble. Highly highly recommend!
Love, love, love Sam!!!!! You need not hesitate to hire Sam to do anything. Sam is not only an excellent handyman; he can repair, replace, design just about anything you would like. He is a true professional; dependable, hardworking and most importantly "HONEST"! His workmanship is superb. Sam has replaced numerous floors, replaced cabinets, installed hardwood floors, built a deck, replaced front and back doors, replaced slider, painted, plumbing work, electrical work......... and the list goes on. Every home needs a Sam.
Dennis is the first contractor I have worked with that actually called me back. He is very prompt and very professional. His crew was very respectful of my property and cleaned up the job site at the end of each day. Eugene is one of the best carpenters I have had the pleasure to work with and the deck he built for us is the envy of the neighborhood.
We had a poorly built roof over our patio that was damaged by the wind. I found kutai enterprises on thumbtack and asked him to come look at the roof and give us an estimate. Not only did he beat the first estimate, but he took a construction disaster and made it into something to be proud to show off. The roof is much safer and definitely more appealing to the eye. Will definitely hire these guys again. Couldn't be more happier with their work. Would definitely recommend kutai enterprises.
Alisade was very quick in giving us an estimate and starting the work. He took an area of my sloped backyard and leveled it for a playset, including building a retaining wall to support the new expanded space. He was easy to work with and we would definitely use him for other landscaping projects.
Overall, I am satisfied with the service I received, and I will say that they were friendly and personable. However, there were a few snags. First, the move was scheduled for 9am, but they arrived a half-hour late. Fred did call at 8am to advise me he would be late, possibly an hour late. So I appreciate that he called to let me know and that he tried to minimize the delay, but it was still inconvenient when I had booked the move in advance and had expected them to arrive at 9. Second, I felt, based on many previous move experiences, that they went a bit slow. It took 6 hours for them to complete my 1-bedroom apartment move. Yes, there was a walk from the elevator to the apartment in the old building and from the truck to the elevator in the new building, but 6 hours was a still bit long - the unloading took as long as the loading, which I found odd. Third, and what bothered me the most, they didn't wrap the furniture in the apartment. The only piece that was wrapped in plastic was a table that had wings (apparently to keep the wings in place). Everything else was just taken from the apartment as is. Apparently my furniture was wrapped once they got it to the truck, but this resulted in grease/some kind of dirt getting on my upholstered ottoman, presumably from the dolly cart they were using (as they had the ottoman upside down on the dolly, so upholstery-side down). And the side of my upholstered chair had dirt all over it (luckily, it's microfiber, so it wiped off okay, but it shouldn't have had dirt on the side to begin with). In my previous move experiences, my furniture has been wrapped (whether in plastic or in the blankets) whilst in the apartment *before* being moved. So overall, an okay service - everything was moved and nothing was broken.
Homequest did an excellent job on my home projects in Washington DC. I have a 100 year old row house and Scott and Asha did a great job managing a project to build a new powder room and renovate an old walk-in closet into an modern office space. Scott and Asha were very responsive with questions throughout the project and their prices were very fair. I would have no hesitation in hiring them again on any home construction project.
Cove Enterprises prepped and stained my deck and painted my concrete slab patio. They scheduled the work promptly because I was in a time bind (putting my town home on the market). They made sure that the work was completed to my satisfaction; checked with me when there were questions; and they were very upfront about the pricing (which was reasonable). They did a great job and I will use them again! Deborah
Jeff was great to work with. I hired Jeff to install two pre-hung solidcore doors. I've helped hanging doors many years ago and know how they are supposed to be installed. Jeff did the job by the book. He was easy to scheduled with, arrived on time and cleaned up when he was finished. I will recommend Jeff and use him for future projects.
Tim worked on various installations and assemblies, like assembling a stepping stool, wooden futon, and installing towel racks and curtain rods, etc. He is a hard worker and seems to have endless energy. I have been very happy with the above mentioned work, and found that he was willing to go the extra mile to deal with problems encountered along the way, e.g. a weird plastic piece appearing on what was supposed to be a bronze metal towel rack, so he did nifty things to hide the plastic. However, more recently, an assignment he had happily accepted--to build two side tables and a coat rack--had to be aborted. Unfortunately that was after lots and lots of time had passed, I wished he had called it off or not accepted the assignment in the first place unless he could see it through, so that I could have had the items done by someone else long ago, as I was desperate to get several home improvement things out of the way. The side tables--which are pretty--were done for the most part but not fully (I still need to find another woodworker to do the unfinished business) and the coat rack was not done at all. Somehow his heart was simply not in it anymore, but would have been better to just straightforwardly cancel a job rather than dragging things out. This is why I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars. He did feel bad about how things went with these three pieces and therefore didn't charge me for one of the side tables.
Charlies moving and hauling comes high recommended by me. In a move from Virginia to Maryland I was reluctant to hire someone to help unload in Maryland because I did know what time I would be arriving in Maryland. I didn't arrive in Maryland until 4pm and called Charlie at about 4:15 on a Saturday night! He gave me a quote for a 2 person crew to help my husband unload our moving truck. Charlie showed up with himself and 4 additional people, for the same original quote. Everyone on the crew was very nice and respectful, and they got the whole job done in 1 hour. On top of the fact that it was last minute, the halls in my building are LOOOOOOOONG. No one on the crew complained about the distance to me personally and I really appreciated that.
