Aneesh says, "I attended English language training by Lori when I moved to US from India. Lori helped me to understand the language more in the cultural context of Texas in particular and US in general. As I was interested in the historical, geographical and cultural aspects of this part of the world, she gave me great insights into those topics as well. While participating in a student gathering organized by Lori, it was clear that all of them had similar great experience with her guidance. For anyone moving to Plano area, regardless of age or current level of competence with the language, I would highly recommend taking Lori's classes to get accustomed to living here."See more

ESL (English as a Second Language) Lessons

I know that finding the right teacher is about more than just matching schedules—it’s about finding someone who actually "gets" how you learn. Whether you’re a local student in Maple Heights or an ESL learner halfway across the world, here is what I promise to bring to every single session: 1. I teach the way YOUR brain works. I don’t believe in "one-size-fits-all" lessons. Because of my background in psychology and my certification in Neurodiversity, I specialize in adapting to you. Whether you have ADHD, Dyslexia, or you’re a "future engineer" who needs logic and structure, I pivot my "secret sauce" of teaching to match your unique brain wiring. 2. I build "Reading Powerhouses," not just memorizers. If you struggle with reading, I won’t just give you a list of words to memorize—that’s a "fast-food" fix. I’m a heavy phonics coach. I teach you the actual "code" of the English language. I want you to be so confident in your foundational skills that when you see a massive word like "congratulations," you don't panic; you just decode it, syllable by glorious syllable. 3. I’ve walked the walk. I’m not just a teacher with fancy degrees; I’m a Learning Coach in the trenches every day. I successfully guide my own 9-year-old through his K-12 curriculum from kindergarten to his present 4th grade, right here in my dedicated home classroom. I know the hurdles of teaching, homeschooling, and the frustrations of traditional classrooms because I lived through them myself as a child, as well as with my own family. 4. I provide a "Safe Space to Fail." Learning a language or improving your reading, grammar, and writing can be intimidating. In my classroom (and in my online sessions), there is zero judgment. Everyone has to start from somewhere. Starting and continuing to try is the real achievement. I use puppets, tons of visual aids, games, and sometimes even Google Translate to make sure we’re on the same page. I want you to feel so supported that you forget you’re "working"... and hopefully, we’ll laugh a lot along the way. 5. I’m a partner, not just a tutor. I care about the "whole" student. That’s why my Maple Heights space isn't just a desk... it’s a professional learning center with a dedicated classroom, play/hangout area for kids and teens and a waiting room for adults and/or parents. I even offer local school pickups because I know how busy life gets. I’m here to make your life easier and your learning better. 🚀 Let’s start growing. I don't just want to help you pass a test; I want to help your potential grow from a "tiny seed" into a "mighty tree." Ready to see what we can achieve together?See more
