We had a two-pane window that cracked on the inside. Had to order a new window to replace both panes, couldn't repair. Karim was very conscientious and thorough. He did an excellent job and was less costly than two other bids. We would recommend Secure Glass for any glass needs. A very nice guy; we enjoyed meeting and talking with him as well.
I had a small privacy fence fall down this winter. Luis responded promptly he came the next day to give me a free estimate. He came today to complete the job and he did great work. He replaced the 2 wood ends and replaced one broken wood panel and cemented the fence in the ground. His price was good and the job was done quickly from beginning to end. I would refer him to a friend and do plan on hiring him again.
I needed 5 window sills replaced and chair railing that my dog ate. He gave me a great price for all the work and his guy was able to complete the project within a few days of hire. The gentlemen Tim sent was on time, worked quickly, and did great work. I'm very satisfied and will be using Tim again for other projects we have around the house (dry wall etc).
Chris was personable and came to my house promptly to give me an estimate to fix a door with significant dry rot issues. During his visit he explained to me the problems with my existing door in a educational manner so that I could see the problems, too. He quoted an excellent price to replace my patio door (I was panning only to repair the dry rot on the trim). We decided to go ahead with the replacement vs. the repair. The installers had the new door installed in a single afternoon! We are extremely satisfied with the finished product and I would use Window Source again.
I had a gas fireplace installed two years ago. Another contractor did the basic frame and sheetrock around the fireplace but didn't finish the job. Jenrri met with me in person to assessed the job and give a quote for the work. Jenrri was pleasant and professional and my two Westies both liked him. If they didn't like him I wouldn't have hired him. He said the front area around the firebox would need to have the sheetrock replaced with cement board. I was glad he knew this because not having the right materials could be a fire hazard. After meeting with him. I decided to hire him and planned for him to come Feb. 16-19, 2016 to do this job. He did this job with another worker named Melby. Jenrri and I had to buy materials from the store the first day, but Melby stayed and started working. He removed the sheetrock and also cut boards for the shiplap look I wanted on the upper front and sides of the fireplace. Jenrri and Melby completed cutting and installing about half of the boards the first day. They laid tile on the hearth and around the firebox. I had picked large tiles for the hearth and small tiles to go around the firebox. The small tiles took more time to cut and install. Some of the tile around the firebox doesn't lay completely flat because of the screws for the cement board and because the framing around the firebox wasn't level. If I had to pick again I would have picked larger tiles to go around the firebox. They would have been easier to install and wouldn't have shown that the firebox wasn't completely level. After the tile and boards were installed they painted all the boards and the two walls on each side of the fireplace. Then installed the mantle and touched up the painting. They did a very nice job cleaning up when the work was done and even put furniture and a rug back in place. They also completed the job on time. I am happy with my finished fireplace. It looks beautiful. Both Jenrri and Melby work hard and do a good job. Maybe if Jenrri did the whole project instead of finishing someone else's work it would have been perfect. I would hire him again and I would recommend him to others.
I had my office window broken glass replaced. Alejandro was very knowledgeable on his work and pricing was competitive.
Great price , I got quotation from other glass repair vendors as well and they quoted too high price. They gave me good price $175 for replacing a glass window 35*32 inch. They came on time took the measurement. Ordered the glass and replaced after 4 days. They were so quick in replacing glass.
John is very professional and patient to treat customers. I just bought a house which was built in 1986 still with original windows. After I quoted 6 windows replacement companies, I finally selected John. His price is not the lowest, but I believe he could provide the highest value based on what I need to pay. He visited my house several times to discuss the window selection and installation. He always treated customers very valuable and is always willing to accept my requirement. He didn't try to pursuade you to purchase expensive windows, or try to compain about the old house to demonstrate how much additional money I need to pay to get all things done. He just provided one reasonable price (all charges are covered) and explained the contract very carefully. After one and half day installation, I'm extremely satisfied with all new windows I have. My house looks so beautiful right now. I really appreciate John's work and highly recommend him to everyone who wants to have window replacement with great service but reasonable cost.
Lee showed up roughly 10 mins before the scheduled time and we discussed options with my curtains. I messed up one of the windows but Lee was able to fix it and throughout the entire process explained what he was doing, or his thoughts on the best way to correct my error! He completed 5 windows, used some of his screws (because the one I have was poorly made and too short) for a very reasonable price! I even asked about wall mounting my tv in the near future and he gave me great options. Will definitely use his services again! Thank you, Lee!
We needed to have a shower door installed. This was the last item in a larger home remodel project. We asked the team who did the remodel but their price was higher than we were willing to pay at this point. We got a couple of other quotes which were all over the place. I had used thumbtack only once previously but never hired anyone. I thought I'd give it a try. Randy gave us a good quote that we were satisfied with. He didn't have any reviews on thumbtack so we were hesitant, but he provided references and explained that he just joined thumbtack. I spoke to a pro poetry manager and she praised Randy's work saying that he does all the work on their many properties. We have it a shot. We exchanged a couple of emails and phone calls prior to the actual work day. We weren't sure which door to order but with his advice we finally got it and scheduled the installation. Randy's worker was very prompt and thorough. The shower stall have him some trouble since it was porcelain tile, but he managed to get the screws in. Unfortunately the instructions for the door were confusing and the final few steps weren't done properly. I wasn't home when the installation was finished but when I returned and noticed it didn't look right I called the door manufacturer and they explained what was wrong. I called Randy who was very accommodating and his worker came the next morning and fixed the issue. They were both curteous. In the end we got the door installed within our budget. Our work in the house is complete now, but if we need anything else done in the future I will certainly ask Randy again for a quote.
Months ago, I looked for someone to do a small painting project on Thumbtack. And I ended up with a brand new home. Christian, Jessica, Hector and the rest of the team at 5th Gen Group honestly do miracles. We own a 100+ year old row home in Washington DC and we've had problems ever since we moved in five years ago. After dealing with four different contractors that left me unsatisfied, I tried Thumbtack (at that time, new in the DC area). Christian came out to do an estimate and I was impressed by him from the get go - as a woman, I hate when contractors act like I'm stupid or uninformed. Christian never did that, and he answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly and would defer to my wishes. We initially contracted for a gut remodel of our ancient kitchen and leaking bathroom. Christian's professional opinion was heavily appreciated as well as his vision - he instantly "got" the feel of a space and spent a lot of time listening to not only what we wanted, but how we would use the space and what we planned for the house in the future. Of course, the best laid plans always go awry - we knew our house had a few "handyman specials" but once Christian opened up the floor in the kitchen, we realized we were really in for it. Down there was a hidden mess of rotting wires, missing piping, garbage from the last renovations, and rotted-out beams. Overnight, our budget doubled. I personally wanted to die. But Christian calmly lead us through the process, helped us try to salvage our murdered budget, and focused on explaining the trade-off in home values. We ended up with an additional half bath downstairs (because really, what was another 5K at that point?), brand new kitchen (with a small bar!) a brand new stairwell and relocated laundry room, and a brand new bathroom with a shower (after 5 years of an ancient leaking cast iron tub). Christian isn't completely perfect - he's totally a perfectionist, and if you are one too, be prepared for some long conversations. There is an epic texting exchange over the bathroom tile that I may print out just to see how long it really was. But that's about the only thing. Also, for the other ladies on here- I always hate opening my home to someone because I have had bad experiences with contractors who were, at best, creepy. Christian and Hector were completely professional, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I always knew who would be in the house, when they would arrive, and how to reach both of them. Christian also has a lot of loyalty and integrity toward his clients - he is always fair, both in pricing and in the treatment of your home. He broke a small appliance - the only reason I knew was because he called me when he was purchasing an (upgraded) replacement on his own dime. All renovations are hard projects, long projects, and frequently frustrating. There was definitely a day when I wanted to kill Christian for sending me out to two different quarries in far out Virginia right around rush around. But when I stepped into my home for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling. And when we finally scrape together the budget for a third floor extension, I know exactly who I am calling.
Last Spring, Brandon Contractor LLC completed several projects in my home with excellent quality and customer service! I had recently purchased a foreclosure and was looking for a reliable contractor to complete a few projects. Mr. Vega and I met so that I could share my vision for the projects that I wanted completed - a small window cut in the wall above the kitchen sinking looking into the living room, refinishing the front door, backsplash in the kitchen and painting the upstair hallway and stairway. We met to pick out materials and I was allowed to provide my input as well as receive suggestions from Mr. Vega that would improve the overall job. When the work begun, a possible concern was noted by Mr. Vega and his team with plumbing. It was addressed immediately. All of the projects were completed in a timely manner and I am extremely satisfied with the outcome! The team was professional, courteous and the pricing was great! I often receive complements from visitors to my home and I plan to use the company again in the near future to spruce up my patio. I highly recommend Brandon Contractor LLC for any of your home improvement projects!
Branden and his colleague were wonderful. He was very courteous and polite when I initially called him. The day of service he contacted me to let me know he was available earlier than scheduled, if I wanted the work to begin sooner. They arrived, saw the space and immediately went to work. The bunk bed set we have has a twin and full bed as well as a staircase and I am ecstatic about how perfectly it was put together. He also fixed my running toilet and hung my laundry room coat racks on the wall securely. I asked them to mount something on the kids door that was not discussed and there was no issue. I loved their customer service and constant communication and wish I had more for them to do when they were at my home. I definitely would hire this company again and see why he has a 5 star rating. This company was my first thumbtack experience and I am glad I went with them. I have new handymen to do my home repairs.
I had an office in my basement that I decided to rip out the carpet in and install wood-like porcelain tiles. Leo and his assistant worked diligently for two days to transform my room. They installed the tiles in a herringbone design and they a phenomenal job with it. He then removed my 3 inch baseboards and installed & painted 6 inch baseboards. And painted the walls. I am beyond happy with the results and will DEFINITELY use LD Home Improvement on my next project.
Eddie was very good. He called to confirm the appointments and was ON TIME for the initial assessment, the follow up measurement and the installation. He even accommodated my evening schedule. I thought I would have to replace the entire slider when the stationary glass pane shattered. In fact I was told be another company that the glass could not be replaced and a new slider would have to be custom ordered because it is over-sized. Eddie order a new piece of tempered glass, installed it and everything works fine. Yes, it had to be special ordered because of the size, but I ended up spending hundreds of dollars instead of a few thousand dollars. Excellent work. And did I mention that he was ON TIME. Great job.
After several reschedules, mostly thanks to mother nature, Gio sent two crew members to install our shutters, replace some roof shingles and flashing. What we admired most about Gio was the fact that he came personally to speak with us about the job and give us an estimate which seemed very fair. He also stayed in communication with us throughout the rescheduling process. The outside of our house looks "normal" again. Thank you!
I had a window that I needed to get put in. These guys were very quick to give me a quote and get it all taken care of. I actually changed the dimensions on them and they were so flexible! Window is great and there is no drywall or painting needed to be done. They checked out my roof too at my request since my neighbors are all getting theirs done. Will have them do my roof next.
I cant tell you how happy I am with Homefix from the scheduling of my appointment to the very last minute of installation. I needed my siding to be replaced since it was old and the wind had blown some off. Homefix exceeded my expectations and delivered quality work. Scheduling someone to give me an estimate was a breeze and they came right away. The crew was extremely professional and polite. Do I reccomend HCR? Absolutely! Thank you so much!
My husband and I contacted Jim Rusnak, with Enhancements, Inc., to provide an estimate on replacing our roof. Jim arrived on time; relayed the appropriate amount of information about roofing products, installation, etc.; responded to our questions in a timely manner; provided status reports on an ongoing basis; and best of all...completed the project on time and to our satisfaction! In the 10 years, that we have worked with Jim, he has NEVER spoken poorly of another contractor and to us that is a testament to his professionalism, honesty, and trustworthiness.
We had a great experience buying new windows through the Home Doctor! Our inquiry into new windows was answered right away and Philip came out and gave us a very informative presentation regarding their products and also a great quote. The installation went very well and we are extremely happy with our new windows!
We received a quote for the town house roof job. The specialist came by our house was very knowledgeable and helpful. He figured out a scope quickly and efficiently. He was also in time for the appointment.
