Walter of Hi Solutions responded to my thumbtack query with a competitive bid. On calling he asked succinct questions and reinforced the estimate and committed to a scheduled arrival to fix a pinhole leak in piping at my hot water heater. He arrived on time, was efficient and very courteous and careful to explain what he did and provided me some useful information about the piping in our home. I had previously gotten other estimates which were as much as twice the amount for this simple repair or from companies that would not commit to an estimate without visiting and charging a fee just to look at it. (as high as $85.00). Ct Walter's service gets 5 stars without any reservation or downside..
Gabriel came by on very short notice and took care of my kitchen sink leak quickly. He was very neat and clean while working. He noticed some other issues with my pipes and offered to fix them while he was here. I'm glad I got his expertise, as I had gotten other plumbers previously for the same problem who did not have the same insight. I highly recommend Gabriel.
Ernesto did an outstanding job installing a new vanity w/faucet in a bathroom, replacing a toilet, and installing a new shutoff valve. He showed up on time and made sure that there were no leaks after his plumbing work. I would hire him again.
James fixed one mysterious leak and another leak that he found during the job. He worked quickly and both leaks are resolved. James is great because he clearly communicates throughout the entire process -from arriving at the site, explaining and showing the problem, and how to fix it. I'm a new home owner with little knowledge of plumbing, so I was appreciative of the extra time he took to explain things and the extra knowledge he gave me about managing plumbing in the winter. I've hired three plumbers on thumbtack for leaks in the house, but James has the best responsiveness, communication, and value for excellent work.
Great experience. Very nice and quick to diagnose issue. Leak solved quickly. Thank you!
Supreme Plumbing & Heating was great! They came out to my property on time and very accurately diagnosed the problem with a leak in a booster pump (that the insurance adjuster was not able to diagnose). Very professional and even wrote up a detailed report that I needed for a claim. Would highly recommend!
Had two of the big companies come out to see my unit (leaking issue) before getting on Thumbtack to find Plumb Agent. Big companies each quoted close to $400. Julian did the work for significantly less than that. I am so glad we got on thumbtack. Julian was punctual, professional, communicative/transparent, quality work and most important, a great value. Thanks Julian for giving my family a piece of mind!
Thank you Kelvin! Very knowledgeable, cordial and did great work. Was also very clean with the opening of our drywall to locate the pipe leak. Will definitely recommend you to my family and friends.
Jose and his team were great! We had had water damage on our ceiling caused by a leak from the condo above us. The ceiling was extremely wet and cracked, and water was dripping down onto the floor. Jose and his team fixed our ceiling in no time, taking extra care to ensure the patched area was seamless with the rest of the ceiling. He even painted our window trim and re-stained an area of our floor at no additional cost. Great work, will definitely hire again!
A pinhole leak developed in my hot water pipe. The section of pipe with the problem was wedged between an HVAC air vent and floor joists. Yovany was prompt (arrived at 2:05 PM to a 2:15 PM appointment). He and I went over a few options of repair and concluded that he would re-route the pipe under the HVAC vent. His work was clean, thorough and efficient. Once remedied he tested the pipe for leaks, then re-secured the pipe to the floor joists. I observed him at every stage and he was very helpful in my understanding of the entire process. All materials not used (about 3 ft. of pipe I kept). When I run into another plumbing problem in this aging house, I will most likely call Barahona Plumbing again. One word to other potential clients: his estimate was for labor only and did not include an estimate for materials.
Great job. He was able to come to my house after work and quickly and efficiently set up my ecobee3 thermostat. While he was there, he notice a spot where air was leaking from the central unit and was able to fix that as well. Thanks!
I had a drain leak and Ahmed did an excellent job finding and fixing the problem. He was in and out in 30 min. He did an excellent job. I would highly recommend.
Nick quickly and professionally fixed a leak Eith hhe shutt off valve and installed a new faucet since that was leaking. I already have him pegged to do the plumbing work when I change out my countertop. I highly recommend.
Months ago, I looked for someone to do a small painting project on Thumbtack. And I ended up with a brand new home. Christian, Jessica, Hector and the rest of the team at 5th Gen Group honestly do miracles. We own a 100+ year old row home in Washington DC and we've had problems ever since we moved in five years ago. After dealing with four different contractors that left me unsatisfied, I tried Thumbtack (at that time, new in the DC area). Christian came out to do an estimate and I was impressed by him from the get go - as a woman, I hate when contractors act like I'm stupid or uninformed. Christian never did that, and he answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly and would defer to my wishes. We initially contracted for a gut remodel of our ancient kitchen and leaking bathroom. Christian's professional opinion was heavily appreciated as well as his vision - he instantly "got" the feel of a space and spent a lot of time listening to not only what we wanted, but how we would use the space and what we planned for the house in the future. Of course, the best laid plans always go awry - we knew our house had a few "handyman specials" but once Christian opened up the floor in the kitchen, we realized we were really in for it. Down there was a hidden mess of rotting wires, missing piping, garbage from the last renovations, and rotted-out beams. Overnight, our budget doubled. I personally wanted to die. But Christian calmly lead us through the process, helped us try to salvage our murdered budget, and focused on explaining the trade-off in home values. We ended up with an additional half bath downstairs (because really, what was another 5K at that point?), brand new kitchen (with a small bar!) a brand new stairwell and relocated laundry room, and a brand new bathroom with a shower (after 5 years of an ancient leaking cast iron tub). Christian isn't completely perfect - he's totally a perfectionist, and if you are one too, be prepared for some long conversations. There is an epic texting exchange over the bathroom tile that I may print out just to see how long it really was. But that's about the only thing. Also, for the other ladies on here- I always hate opening my home to someone because I have had bad experiences with contractors who were, at best, creepy. Christian and Hector were completely professional, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I always knew who would be in the house, when they would arrive, and how to reach both of them. Christian also has a lot of loyalty and integrity toward his clients - he is always fair, both in pricing and in the treatment of your home. He broke a small appliance - the only reason I knew was because he called me when he was purchasing an (upgraded) replacement on his own dime. All renovations are hard projects, long projects, and frequently frustrating. There was definitely a day when I wanted to kill Christian for sending me out to two different quarries in far out Virginia right around rush around. But when I stepped into my home for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling. And when we finally scrape together the budget for a third floor extension, I know exactly who I am calling.
Juan and team were onsite within two hours of my thumbtack posting. They are smart patient wise and persistent at figuring it the root cause of a chronic ceiling leak. He is very capable and professional. He did the whole job of installing twelve or more recessed lights and replacing the air and dryer duct work on the second floor over a few days this week. He’s fair and nice to work with. You won’t be disappointed.
I would like to comment on how impressed I was with One Call House Services. I had posted a request on Thumbtack and within 10 minutes I had a response from the owner. Within one hour, he was at my house and had fixed two leaking toilets. In addition, I mentioned to him that I had to replace a toilet in a rental property that we own in Fairfax. After he finished work at my home, he drove out to Fairfax and replaced the toilet. He did a great job and the price was extremely fair. I highly recommend this company!
Joe was very professional and I feel that he gave me a fair price. He took the time to explain how the new & easier shut off values worked for my outdoor faucets and I am extremely happy with my new kitchen faucet that is more modern and doesn't leak. I will hire him again in the future.
If Drew’s Service Solutions and Jon Drew respond to your Thumbtack job, you are fortunate. Don’t overthink it; just do it. I’m an overthinker and had 5 companies come out to give estimates. Drew was the first one and I should have committed then. Three weeks ago, I’d never heard of Jon Drew. Today and after a week of nothing short of heroism in my old, concreted, plastered home in which he did, among other things, a whole-house repipe from galvanized to copper, I’m recommending him to all my friends. Why? Ok, this will take a while. 1. His work is careful, thoughtful and beautiful. The waterlines now run where they need to in the most efficient way possible. He understands the end user’s needs. Although not in our statement of work, he replaced my basement utility sink with something much more useful and attractive, while adding beautiful copper waterlines with their own cut-off valves. He also ran much more efficient and beautiful clothes washer waterlines and gave me a bonus laundry waterline box, also with cut-off valves. Check out the photos. 2. He keeps his word and doesn’t leave you wondering. With my plumbing job, he did exactly what he told me he would do, down to the time he said he would be there in the morning. He let me know in advance about any changes. 3. He’s an educator. He’s the expert and I’m not; I just knew I had some plumbing problems and trusted him to fix them. Not only did he fix them, he first took the time to explain to me what the issues were so I could make an informed decision what to do about them.
Very good service from Brandon who was punctual, courteous and very thorough in repairing a small leak under the toilet bowl.
Had a leak in our basement and no idea where it was coming from. Shut off our main water and placed a called to Raul with Nanos. Raul showed up same day, found a source of the leak--bad hose in our kitchen faucet; replaced the hose; cured the wood that had been affected; replaced the damaged ceiling tiles and with in 2 hours this was an issue no more. Pricing was reasonable. Repair was good and quick. Raul followed up to confirm that the we had not had any further issues. Raul is now part of our "Numbers to call" list for any house needs!
I am a new homeowner and I went on to Thumbtack in a desperate search for a plumber. I was issues with gas leaking from the hot water heater and we all know that that’s nothing to play around with. Before I could finish my search I received a call from Jerry from Rent2day. He asked me a few questions about my current issue and told me that he’d be at my residence as soon as possible. He kept his word, kept in contact with me throughout the day and arrived on time. His attitude was great. He fixed the problem in a very short time and gave a few suggestions on some other things I might want to look into! His fee was very reasonable and he told me to call him if I had any other issues. Fantastic service and Jerry was great !
