I am so thankful for Chef Kev! He was fabulous. He was very responsive. He took care of everything for us, decorations, serving ware, set up and clean up. I was able to relax and enjoy the surprise party for my mother. I had no worries. He created a great menu for 40 people. BBQ salmon bites, honey ginger broiled black tiger shrimp, red pepper jumbo lump crab salad on puff pastry cups, are just a few of the items he prepared along with great selection of beer and wine. Everything was delicious. Kevin was warm and friendly. He was very response and worked with me... when the guest of honor was hospitalized and we weren't sure if the party would take place. I could not of been more pleased Kevin was very cooperative and compassionate and communicated well during this difficult time. The quest of honor made it and it was a success! I highly recommend Chef Kev!
Sam did balloon artistry for my daughter's birthday party at her school. He was very fast and the designs were awesome! Everyone enjoyed and even the teachers lined up for balloons. Sam stayed extra just to finish all the requests. I would highly recommend him and wouldn't hesitate to hire him again for my other children's parties. Thanks Sam!

After looking through each artist's portfolio, I concluded that mimi's portfolio impressed me the most! I messaged her and received an almost instant response and we booked her within the hour. Mimi came to our daughter's kinder garden grad party the following weekend and did a fantastic job painting the kids, sculpting balloons, and drawing their caricatures! She was very patient and always wore a smile despite having worked endlessly for 3 hours and taking only a quick 5 min water break. After I decided to plan a 70th birthday party for my father, I knew I wanted something different other than just a few guests at home. After speaking with the owner of ALD, April, about what I was looking for and what my budget was, she immediately started helping me brainstorm options for locations and vendors to take care of everything from cupcake orders to banners. She even went to visit the restaurant, see the room, and speak to the restaurant event planner before I could make it over to the location. April is super organized and has timelines and deadlines for each step in planning the event and she always returned my calls and emails in a timely manner. When the day of the event arrived she had all of the materials as discussed and decorated the dining room with a beautiful black and gold theme. She provided everything from chair covers and table linens to balloons. Everything went as planned and she stayed around to make sure everything was on track. I'm so glad that I worked with ALD! They created a memorable and unforgettable event.
My husband and I hired Floyds DJ Services for our May 13, 2017, ceremony in Woodbridge, Va. Finding a DJ had proven to be my toughest task during the wedding planning phase. . . that is, until Kacey responded to my request for information. She's pleasant, easy to work with and was always responsive. The constant threat of rain for our outdoor ceremony has us wavering on whether we'd be outdoors or move the ceremony inside. Kacey remind flexible as we didn't make the final call until just hours before the ceremony was to start. We were lucky enough to have BOTH Kacey and her husband, DJ Unknown, for our ceremony and reception. He is a GREAT hype man, and together, they read the crowd and played the right mix of old-school jams (as I requested) and current Top 40 Hits (including a ton of songs from my personal playlist suggestion). DJ Kacey even got on the dance floor to lead the crowd into a line dance and help get the party started. Their sound system was super crisp and there wasn't a single glitch! We had selected a final song to be played, and when it came time, DJ Kacey and DJ Unknown surprised us with a PHENOMENAL send off by having our guests line up in a receiving line to end the day. In a word, it was pure magic! Floyds DJ Services is a true example of exceptional quality that doesn't break the bank. I'd recommend them 10 times over! -Kevin G.

She was always helpful, professional, gave us solutions for the unexpected situations. Took care about our orientation and desires. On the big day, she controlled everything and we could enjoy a lot! I hired Coast to Coast Event Staff to help me with a 40th birthday party for 40 guests. Dee answered the call when there was less than 7 days to the event. I originally asked for a bartender and an event helper to assist on the party day...I planned to do the rest on my own! Dee offered some helpful suggestions and worked with me to stay on budget. By the end her team created a stunning 3 tier cake and cake pops that matched my photo perfectly (with a 2 day deadline) - ordered/pick up/delivered food from my favorite restaurant - provided all party supplies - balloons - candy display - set up and cleaned up! That part might be easy but it was the customer service and level of communication that earns 5 stars. Dee took the worry right out of my hands. Anthony and Christie were professional and a fun addition to the party. I felt like a princess without breaking the bank and each and every guest left with a smile. Happy to be a referral as they earned my future business.
Working with EA was amazing... from start to finish. Their responsiveness, their professionalism and their vision--had me from day one. From the time of first contact, Shavonna calmed me and reassured me that EA could turn my vision into a reality. We hired EA for event design--and they did just that! Every picture I sent and every idea I conveyed was implemented to the fullest extent. EA received kudos from my venue and my wedding planner for their efficient manner for getting the job done, as well as the exquisite design details. When my new hubby and I were introduced, as we walked into the ballroom, I literally cried. As a bride, planning for months, you can never imagine just HOW it will all pull together--your vision, your ideas, your dreams--that makes you so very nervous. As we walked through the crowd to start our first dance, I remember thinking "it is literally dead-on...they nailed my vision dead-on..." I remember telling Shavonna prior that I couldn't imagine how all of my ideas would pull together--couldn't envision it... her response was "leave it to her--that was EA's job, that's why I hired them...so I could remove that concern off my plate" Once again...dead-on.... From the lanterns, to the Eiffel tower feather centerpieces, to the gorgeous linens to the spectacular feather bouquets/boutonnieres/corsages....I am forever grateful.... Many people tell you to prepare for something not to go right, or for something not to be perfect on your wedding day. However, I can honestly say, hiring EA will prove everyone wrong...your day will be amazing--far beyond what you ever dreamt possible--they will meet AND exceed your expectations! Shawanna planned my baby shower, and my son's 1st and 2nd birthday parties. All 3 events turned out beyond expectations. Each theme was carefully thought out and perfectly executed. Shawanna has a very intricate eye for detail, so you can expect everything to be creatively crafted, from the invitations down to the favors. The favors are definitely always one of a kind. My favorite is the balloon arches. Hard to believe they are handmade; they look like something out of a catalog. I would definitely recommend Exclusive Bashes for anyone who is planning an event. It will surely be one to remember.
Angie is an absolute hero. Despite being located in Los Angeles, we were planning a wedding in Bowie, MD...and were totally behind schedule. Luckily, some last-minute searching led me to Angie & Honey Do planners. After our first phone conversation, I felt totally comfortable and even EXCITED about my looming marriage. She helped calm my nerves, direct my energy, and take care of every little task I hadn't thought of. Angie recommended nearly every vendor for our event--photographer, florist, baker--and our guests absolutely raved about each one. She was easy to contact and always helpful, despite being three time zones away. Angie designed our decorations, from centerpieces to guestbook, and was able to intuit my preferences from very little data. I had no vision--just a pinterest page and a rough sense of what I didn't like--and somehow from this she was able to define my style and create absolutely gorgeous decor. I can't express how grateful I am! Angie has a gift. She also served as our day-of-coordinator, making sure everyone in the ceremony was on-time and ready to go. I couldn't get over how much effort she put into our day--the details, the timeline, the decorations--and she helped push everyone involved to make sure they knew what to do and when. Before Angie, I was sincerely dreading my wedding as a social obligation that would be a lot of effort and very little fun. After Angie, I somehow managed to pull off an event that pleased everyone, looked awesome, and felt absolutely joyous from beginning to end. While on the opposite coast. She's a miracle-worker.

Planning for a West Point graduation is like planning a destination wedding for royalty. The weeklong pomp and ceremony of the cadets graduation and commissioning as an army officer on a highly secure and secluded army base requires months of planning. Some plan a year out. Booking hotels, helping guests navigate the campus, getting on and off base and through security check points, transportation to West Point and then around campus and town, planning for meals, seating at events, securing a spot for the commissioning ceremony, is not for the faint at heart or for amateurs. I hired a professional wedding and party planner. She booked lodging and reception hall, secured transportation service to and from post, arranged for breakfast food and snacks during commute to post, meals to be delivered to post for commissioning ceremony and food for our private reception back at the hotel. She had maps and program booklets with details of the events of the day and activities during free time. She thought of it all and executed it without a hitch. Meanwhile, I was able to enjoy the festivities of my son’s graduation and commissioning and enjoy the company of my guests. It was a memorable occasion. Having Michele and Laura work our annual Holiday Open House was a real game changer in how I will entertain from now on! I am a veteran party giver and love to entertain, but I need good, hands-on professional, responsible help during the event so I can relax and enjoy the party. With "We Plan- You Party" I was able to do the cooking and much of the planning for our Annual Holiday Party, then turn the aprons over to Michele and Laura with complete confidence. Since I enjoy the cooking and planning but hate the clean-up, they were perfect. Michele and Laura came in and very efficiently set up the food and bar areas, greeted guests, kept the place picked up, dishes and glasses washed, and replenished food and beverages during the event. As things wound down and after, they put leftovers away, packaging them for the freezer and fridge, cleaned everything up, party glassware was clean and boxed up for storage, plates and platters washed, dried and stacked for storage,they put table linens in my laundry room, even blew out the candles...all while I put my feet up and had a nightcap and plate of food with Hubby and the last few hangers-on. When they left the kitchen was cleaner than they found it. And , all the while, they were personable,relaxed, professional and sweet! Aaaaahhhh. Perfect party! Candra is an amazing event planner! Very professional, organized, energetic and best of all passionate. She handles things in a timely fashion and events always go off with out a hitch. From food, decor, activities, and surprises...her events are always fantastic. I have been to several of her events...and each one fantastic! She stands out because she can plan & host a party. Which she does both remarkably well. She can vibe with any crowd from toddlers up to senior citizens. Her passion for the youth makes any child party/event amazing. I've seen her in action and kids just love her!
Lisa is a down-to-earth creative party planner, who offers creativity and pragmatism all at the same time. She will make suggestions, and help you remember details, but is not pushy about it. She will help you throw the party you want. I hired her only to help with the actual party itself, and not with the planning. Then, we encountered a delinquent hotel event coordinator who wouldn't respond to my requests or provide any assistance, and Lisa ended up mostly taking over to get things done, and done right. She is all about the details, so you don't have to be. Lisa was a life saver!

When my now wife and I set out to plan our wedding, we were one of those couples who thought hiring a planner was unnecessary. We had roughly 6 months to pull it off. We fancy ourselves as reasonably intelligent and financially responsible people and we thought that was plenty of time. Fast forward 4 months. The stress began to mount and panic had set in. Our budget is dwindling. We broke down and decided to hire a day-of coordinator. Better late than never, but who do we call? Every one we spoke to was either way too expensive or not the right fit personality wise. Thanks to Thumbtack, we found Vanessa. We are incredibly happy we did and we couldn't have pulled off our awesome wedding without her. Here's just a few of the reasons why: 1) Attitude - She has the PERFECT demeanor for event planning. She kept us on track, but was never pushy. Very personable and easy to talk to. Every time we spoke to her we felt both at ease and motivated to check more off of our list. 2) Creativity - Simply put she has great ideas. Whether it was decor, logistics, floor planning, etc., she listened to our inputs (which weren't always in lockstep - welcome to married life) but put here own spin on things. Our wedding was weeks ago and we still are getting comments on how beautiful everything was. 3) Contacts - Vanessa made great recommendations for vendors, and didn't do so based on any kickbacks or financial gain to herself. In fact, we had one vendor who was somewhat flaky that we had already booked. She was able to line up a "just in case" vendor for us. 4) Organization - Nothing fell through the cracks and she thought of small details we didn't have the capacity to (because we were too busy being crazy pants). 5) Value - She is worth every penny and I would argue she is a bargain for the service she provides. This is especially in comparison to other planners out there. If you need help planning an event, not just a wedding, we highly suggest you reach out to Vanessa @ Little Black Book. You absolutely will not regret it.
We never had a wedding ceremony and reception when we eloped 10 years ago. Now that we had the funds, and our 10-year anniversary was coming up, we thought it would be a good time to finally have the wedding we never had. I am so glad we hired a wedding planner. We knew we wouldn't have time to research the vendors, nor know which vendor to choose, and we wanted everything to go smoothly on the day of the wedding. Tynise of Pure Elegance Events did all the work we knew we didn't have time to do and presented various vendors for our wedding for us to choose. She stayed in constant contact with us throughout the preparations, and followed up on our questions and comments via emails. We told her exactly what we wanted, and she made sure to make it happen. Even though we started the planning a few months later than normal, Tynise made everything work while staying within budget. On the day of, Tynise brought two assistants to help out the bridal party while she was running logistics with the hotel coordinator. Even the DJ commented on how she was on top of things. When everything was over, she and her assistants helped the hotel staff clean up everything that evening, both in the ballroom and ceremony room, so there was no need for us to wake up early the next day and clean up. Nothing went wrong on wedding day. Absolutely nothing. Everything was set up perfectly, and we were able to view the reception set up before the ceremony began. We also tried to help out by giving Tynise a printed layout of how we wanted things set up, a full list of the ceremony and reception items, the wedding party's names and contact information, and specific requests as early in the planning as possible. Tynise and her assistants, Amanda and Katie, were the best. Hiring Pure Elegance Events was the best decision we made.
Kadzo coordinated a princess themed tea party for a group of young girls, and it was beautiful! The girls had a great time. They mingled, they ate cake, they colored and they danced. She also coordinated with a local author to have an interactive story time circle for his princess-themed children's books. All of the girls left with fun goodie bags, and the ideas introduced to the girls were positive and encouraging. The overall ambiance was through the roof fun! We are thinking of making this an annual event-- it was a huge hit, Kadzo super-sized our vision and the girls were over the moon!
