After a great stint of piano and violin lessons, we just began with Johnny Walker, Aida's strings teacher, to start my son on cello. We are so impressed with him - he knows HOW to teach, asking questions, guiding my son to think and understand rather than a mere demonstrate-and-repeat style. My son immediately took to him and can hardly wait between lessons for the next. Thank you!
While I’ve only started my violin lessons Kirsten has been a wonderful teacher whom I know will be able to help me learn to play the violin.
My 6 year old son took the piano lessons with Lisa for over a year and I am amazed at his tremendous improvement in such a short time span. She is very patient and encouraging and my son really enjoys her class. Great experience with Lisa all the way around. Highly recommended!
Very good violin teacher. Dedicated to his craft. Great introduction to the world of violin. It's definitely about as hard an instrument as is possible to learn but you'll surely gain a solid foundation from him. Not so sure if you are a more advanced student. Though, he surely has been playing for most of his life. He has a good relationship with a great little local violin shop near where he lives to get all you need if you are beginning your journey with him.
It has been a great learning experience for my two daughters. I dont think I could ever find a better piano teacher. Not only does Ms. Heather share her great talent with my kids, she is also very friendly and always cheerful and looking forward to teaching them. My daughters have improved dramatically since we started with her a few years ago. We also really enjoy the convenience of in home lessons! I highly recommend Lessons In Your Home for music lessons. My daughters now look forward to their piano practice daily. Great Falls, VA Resident
Tatiana has been teaching me to play the violin for a little over a couple of months. She is very patient, and adapts her teaching methods to suit her students, and to help them do the best they can, at their level, with their instrument. Which, I think, is the best any teacher can do. She also makes lessons very enjoyable. I am an adult beginner, so I bring some things from daily life to classes (such as tension) that don't belong with the violin... and I appreciate how she works me on each learning goal, while helping me tackle technical challenges. Classes are focused and structured, but flexible. If that sounds like work, it isn't. Highly recommend!
Angela is a wonderful teacher! She was very patient and took her time getting the concepts across to my 5-year-old, who was just delighted with her. I couldn't have imagined a better violin teacher for my child.
I have taken lessons with Wayman for the past two months and found the lessons to get more and more enjoyable with each lesson. Wayman is very positive in his teaching style and is very patient. He is willing and able to work at his student's pace and uses the passions of his students as a instructional strategy. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a violin instructor.
Wayman is an incredibly talented violinist and a great teacher. He is teaching my 11 year old daughter, and she is more than ever, so inspired to learn the violin. She looks forward to her weekly lessons!!! Wayman is a patient and experienced teacher, whose passion for music and energetic personality make classes fun and encouraging! Thank you!

I am a violin teacher for students of all ages in Washington, D.C. I am an Italian violinist who graduated in performance violin from the Conservatory of Cesena and Milan (Italy), and I have recently moved to the D.C. area. I have 5 years of violin teaching experience, including Suzuki method and music projects in developing countries. I have negotiable prices.
I hold a BM degree in violin performance from University of Maryland College Park. I love working with students and seeing them enjoy making music and learning.
Janet Greene was my son’s private lessons teacher for almost ten years. She worked with him as a 4th grader until after graduation. His love for his viola and music is in large part due to her passion for music and her gentle guidance to the nuances of music and playing. She also encouraged him to practice every day and we have fond memories of him walking around the house every evening playing his instrument. She often found other venues for him play which gave him confidence in his ability to play in front of others. I believe that one reason he is still playing his instrument in college is the love for music she helped him develop. I highly recommend her as an instructor, tutor and person!
Ms. Linnea Marchie is an excellent instructor for my daughter. She is enthusiastic about teaching violin and brings positive energy to each lesson so that my daughter looks forward her session and actually practices almost everyday ( It is amazing). We like Linnea very much.

I have had the pleasure of being Kevin's audio engineer and coal producer recording cabins new album. I have had more than a few talented clients in my day but I would have to humbly say that Kevin takes the cake in terms of creativity professionalism and overall drive for improvement. Kevin's violin skills have continually gotten better in terms of intonation, tone and phrasing during the time span in which we have work together. I believe he will only get better at what heat obviously loves doing. I've been proud and lucky to work with him. I truly believe you will feel the same way if provided the chance!
Todd Baker is the violin teacher of our 10 year old daughter. We reached out to him when we realized that she was not learning enough in her violin group in school. His individualized approach, great skill with children, patience and flexibility across a variety of different music styles has really helped our daughter advance. She loves going to her lessons and comes home inspired. We're very happy with this arrangement.
Our seven year-old took lessons with Ms. Chou for a bit over a year and we were quite happy. She took time to learn his style and build a lesson plan which catered to his particular needs.
As an adult student with no music experience, I think that Christine does a good job breaking down the basics into something that can be easily followed. She is patient and will work to accommodate busy adult schedules. She recommended the Samuel Applebaum String Builder book; which I really like as it teaches the basic hand position along with the associated notes. Rather than learning to play by listening then learning the notes. Again she can tailor her lessons based on children or adults learning abilities.
I found Victor here on this website for a guitar teacher for my son and when it came down to needing to hire a teacher Victor had followed up with me. So I took advantage of the first free lesson and he's been my sons guitar teacher ever since. Victor is very patient and knowledgeable, the personal attention and care he gives to each individual child is wonderful. You can tell that he has a love for music and this is his passion. I've spoken to other families that he teaches(some for several years) and they all agree. He works well with my son on incorporating styles and songs he is interested in as well as teaching music theory and basics. My son was a beginner 6 months ago and now he is playing full songs confidently. He loves coming to guitar class and learning new techniques, and songs. I plan on continuing until my son can pay for lessons himself. I highly recommend Victor Crisen.
