I have had an incredible experience working with Rose. She is relatable and open and will also give her take on how she sees a situation. Aditionally, she doesn't enter a provider/client relationship with the intention of keeping you in counseling for years on end. She provides real tools for real people going through real life situations. I can't imagine making the progress I have in the last month this quickly or to my current level of satisfaction with Rose and her practical, realistic tools for enjoying life to the fullest extent.

Cheryl is great! Very professional and experienced. My wife and I came to her in a difficult time in our marriage. Cheryl gave us the tools and direction to navigate through our issues and we are now on a path to a stronger more loving marriage. I know the lessons we learned in counseling with Cheryl will stick with us for the rest of our lives.

Anne is a good counselor. While she can be a little blunt, what she says has value.

Angela is working with us with couples counseling as well as personal counseling. Angela we feel is very professional. She got to work immediately in the first visit. She took time to find out about us and our spirituality and religion then showed us how to use it to our benefit. She made us feel very comfortable and relaxed right from the start. We are so happy we've found her. I recommend her highly.

As the Mom of a teenage boy who was depressed with no motivation to do anything, I highly recommend Puryear Counseling. After only 2 visits, my son has started changing his behavior in very positive ways. The in-home visits are so convenient!

My fiancée and I actually sought Doug out for counseling prior to our official premarital counseling. Right off the bat Doug made both of us feel comfortable. He listened to both my fiancée and I talk through our thoughts. We would say he made us feel understood and even more impressive he helped us to genuinely understand each other, ha. Through regular and premarital counseling, Doug gave us tons of practical tools to help us then and now. My now Husband and I would both recommend Doug! We are very thankful for him for how has helped us to relate better and grow a deeper friendship. Also we attended Doug's marriage seminar called the seven principals for making marriage work. That was one of the most helpful things we ever did for our relationship. The one day seminar was packed with super practical help and my husband and I frequently reference things we learned from that day. The seminar is also a nice environment to learn and get help that's a little less personally intense. If you are nervous about talking one on one with a counselor, this would definitely be a good/safe/comfortable environment to get some help.

I have been counseling with Dr. Howard McFarland for some time now, individual and family counseling. He is knowledgeable and understanding to the many challenges I face not only as a believer in Christ but his approach is outstanding. I would recommend Dr. McFarland to anyone who is faced with fear, anxiety, depression, substance abuse or faith and just needs someone to talk to who does not judge you. He is without a doubt the best therapist I have ever worked with.

Brenda Shriner tops the list of skilled and effective counselors I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Brenda’s breadth of knowledge and many years of experience combined with her keen instincts give her a therapeutic edge, whether counseling for relationship issues or workplace challenges. I would recommend her to my own family.

I am a licensed professional counselor with offices in both the Kansas City and Saint Joseph, Missouri areas. My experience is almost exclusively in private practice, and my expertise focuses on self-discovery, insight and healing, addictions and sexual issues. My clients are individuals, couples and families ranging in ages from 12-89, who want a nonjudgmental, authentic and objective therapeutic experience. I accept most insurance and try to work when other people don't; so I book most of my sessions in the evenings, at nights and on weekends.

I offer individual, couple, and marriage counseling. I provide treatment for marriage or couple conflicts, depression, anxiety, anger control, pornography addiction, sexual and physical abuse, adjustments to change, grief and loss, problems with self-worth or self-esteem. Starting October 1, 2013, I will no longer be accepting insurance reimbursement. I am cutting back on my practice from full-time to part-time and in order to simplify my practice, I am also voluntarily relinquishing my state licensing, which I have held since Missouri started such licensing. I remain a board certified professional Christian counselor. I have 40 years of professional practice. I have office in Zona Rosa.

I utilize neuroscience and the concept of neuroplasticity not only to educate client's about their brain, but to show them how to utilize their mind to intentionally reshape the structure and function of it.

A substantial number of students can benefit from meditation and relaxation as stress management tools. Objectives: 1. To decrease the behavioral and psychosocial problems of the student. 2. To raise student’s academic performance. 3. To address the needs of parents and grandparents struggling with the problems of today’s youth. In addition, Inner Peace values and recognizes the importance of treating the children and in the context of the family system. With this in mind, participation in family sessions and periodic weekend long intensive family or relationship program is recommended. It is a form of mental healing that is designed to enable you,  in a mind-over-matter fashion, to use your thoughts and physical being to control your body. Biofeedback is a science that is based on the theories and confirmed by scientific studies, that people have the innate potential to influence with their minds many of the functions of their bodies.
