Want to highly recommend Katie at Pets are Grand to be the best person to take cs re of your pets. Thus was our 1st time to use a pet sitter for our 2 older labs and 2 small dogs and was apprehensive until we met Katie! Katie took such good care of our pups that I don't think they even missed us! She is the best..will certainly be our go to girl whenever we need pet sitting again...

We reached out to Angela to help us with our reactive lab mix. After our sessions with her we were amazed at how much we learned and we had a much better behaved dog. We strongly recommed her to anyone who is looking for obedience training or even one of her pet sitting services.

We had Just Fur-Babies watch our dog and cat while we were out of town for 5 days....and we couldn't be happier with the service provided! They sent updates and photos after each visit - which was comforting. We came home to well cared for and content pets :) We already booked another date for a future trip. We recommend Just Fur-Babies to anyone who wants a reliable and professional in-home pet sitter who truly care about your pets!

Kristen and Natalie took care of my cat for two months while I was out of the country. It was the longest I'd ever been away from my cat, but Kristen and Natalie gave her so much love while I was gone! Their rate is more than reasonable and I never worried about my cat getting anything less than amazing care. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a pet-sitter!

    About

I do not have employees. I m the only person that will see your pets. Repeat clients can call, tx, or email me and I can usually start service for them the same day. I also am available to run by and care for pets in the travel area if you get caught late at work, want to go out to eat, or anything that will prevent you from coming home on time.

    About

I'm an animal lover. Whether it's cats or dogs, I love them all. I love grooming and walking them. I enjoy watching them play. All I can say is I have four dogs where I live. They all love me. Thank you so much for a chance to love pets. Thank you.

    About

I have always loved animals and always wanted a job involving them. At first, I was recommended to be a vet or work at the animal shelter. I didn't want to witness the hardships of animals though. So I decided to be a babysitter for animals. I can basically do anything, from walking your dog for you or even keeping your cats' litter box clean while you're out of town.

    About

I've been pet sitting for 22 years so I have experience with many different breeds and ages of dogs. This is my full time job, not something I squeeze in on the side. I am home with the dogs I board most of the time. I am very flexible with pick up and drop off times so it is convenient for my clients. I have 5 star ratings on Facebook, Yelp and Google. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

    • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
    • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
      • 45-minute visit: $28.
      • 60-minute visit: $32.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
      • 12 hours: $100.
      • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32.
