Todd has been teaching both our kids 10 and 6 year old. They are excited to study with him and we do see improvement in their overall scored. Todd is teaching them English, Maths and Science.
Eada is a wonderful tutor for our 4th grader. She has been working with our child for almost a year now. Not only has our child’s confidence increased, her grades in reading and language arts are much stronger. At first I was skeptical about the effectiveness of tutoring via Skype for our child. I can honestly say it works well and is very convenient for our family. Eada is patient and very thorough. We are lucky to have found her!!
Luz is an amazing Spanish tutor!
Amazing tutor!! 10/10 recommend
Samuel is the best English Teacher I had over the years; I have always being afraid of speaking in English, but with Samuel’s support I do not feel afraid anymore. He helped me with grammar and speaking techniques that allowed me to improve my English and therefore my confidence in speaking in English. Even though the classes were online, Samuel made it work and I never felt the need to go to a “physical classroom”, he even went the extra mile, accommodating the classes to my crazy schedule, and recording his classes for me to watch them later. He is the greatest!
Emily has been tutoring my daughter E for the last couple of months. E is a freshman, quite shy, and has been struggling a bit in her studies (mostly Algebra). We first met Emily and I found her to be very professional and yet still very friendly. She supplied me with all her background information - education, experience, references and even a background screening from the Family Care Safety Registry. Emily has helped E with organization and and with her knowledge of Algebra, she has also helped with other homework when needed. Emily pushes E to ask questions and gives her to do lists, she is very encouraging and positive. She relates very well with my daughter and I highly recommend her.
Taynara is extremely professional, efficient and produces at a high level. I would recommend her for any of your Portugese or English language services!
I'm studying ACT with her now. She's really professional teacher and good at teaching too. Even i can see my ACT improvement.
I am a fluent speaker of English, Spanish and Portuguese. I can do translations, editing, writing, and teaching in any of those three languages. I have been teaching private Portuguese lessons for almost three months, and my students are able to understand by listening and speak in an intermediate level.
I have over 18 years of teaching experience, both in classrooms and in private tutoring. I also have two years experience editing dissertations and research papers. I have an MA in Linguistics, a TEFL certificate, and eight years experience as a 3rd grade classroom teacher and nine years teaching ESL at the university level. I have experience tutoring both children and adults in writing , speaking, reading , grammar, and vocabulary. I currently teach ESL at the University of Kansas. I have developed and taught Fulbright, Hubert Humphrey, KAUST, and State Dept.-sponsored students in special programs for my university. I lived abroad as a teacher in the Middle East for 11 years and during that time taught both children and adults. I tutored Arab and Korean students for over 10 years while living there, and have tutored elementary students and adults here for the past two years . I possess great attention to detail and have two years experience editing work for master's and doctoral graduate students in various majors. I enjoy helping students improve their skills in all areas of learning. I am currently tutoring a 4th & 5th grader, an older adult who is studying for the U.S. citizenship test, and tutored a young woman from Belarus in speaking and comprehension skills. I enjoy assisting students in finding joy in learning, acquiring the ability to express their ideas, and improving their vocabulary in order to confidently express themselves orally or in writing. I have over 19 years experience in cross-cultural communication and enjoy learning about my students' interests and goals. I strive to find something that my students are interested in so that learning does not seem like a chore and they can gain confidence in their own abilities.
My work clearly stands out because of my approach. I approach language teaching from the standpoint of the student. I find out how my students learn best and use appropriate teaching methods. I don't blow through material just to get the lesson done; instead I take time to make sure that each learning layer is solid before moving on to the next. Finally, I test and grade my students, not only to see how well they are doing, but to see how well I am doing as a teacher. One of my favorite things that I offer is a complimentary consultation before classes begin. This consultation helps the student to lay out his/her goals and helps me to know the best teaching approach to use from the very beginning. My second favorite thing that I offer is group lessons. Besides the fact that I get to give a discount for each person in the group class (😉), I also enjoy creating a fun environment where students can help each other in learning their new language successfully. I love the a-ha moments that I get to experience with my students! I also love walking through the process of goal-setting and goal-reaching with my students and seeing them succeed in the end.

I love getting to know new people and watch them change and become confident! My area of expertise is grammar and correcting mistakes. I am passionate about teaching so try to do so in a manner that keeps the student engaged. I do not strive to simply teach the student, I strive to help the student understand the material well enough to have the ability to teach someone else. I do this by making them feel as comfortable as possible to ask any questions needed for better understanding. I love seeing the transformation from a confused, falling-behind child, to a confident, engaged, intelligent child.
I am a freshman in college looking for summer employment! I was a 4.0 student, and achieved a 32 on my ACT. I am able to help in most any subject area from Elementary through High Schoo! Contact me for more information about travel, and pricing.
I started to teach online Spanish lessons, Italian lessons (bilingual), and differential calculus in the year 2003. I enjoy making friends both in the US and Europe. I love teaching what I've learned.
Growing up, I wanted to give my brother (who has a disability) a better future by teaching him math and reading skills outside of school. I have been teaching my brother math and reading skills that he lacked for 5 years now and have improved his grades greatly. I have such great passion in teaching for it comes naturally to me. I would love to improve your child's grades, confidence, and interest in math and English!
Master's Degree in Education, 2 Bachelor's Degrees in Education and Spanish, Certified to teach Pre-K through 12th grade Spanish and ESL.
Spanish is my first language and I have lived in the United States for 28 years. I was the Bilingual HR generalist/translator at my last job. I love to teach and help people learn; the greatest reward is seeing how happy they are when they get things down. Conquering milestones and seeing progress is the best part of doing this work.
If your project requires words, your search is over! As a former English and speech teacher, journalist, and reader for doctoral programs, I am able to teach English grammar (emphasis upon sentence diagramming) and composition; edit your compositions, including academic writing; provide writing services for your business; and write your speeches. I do not participate in academic fraud by doing your writing homework for you, but I will help you with writing or speech assignments.
