I'm teaching a revolutionary, Australian developed method that has you playing the piano with both hands -classical, contemporary, blues, gospel, and accompaniment-- from your very first lesson! Free info sessions are available. This is the most successful method I have ever taught and is more fun than a 'lesson' has a right to be. Simply Music has such a fabulous approach to teaching accompaniment that it goes well with singing should a student be interested in playing and singing--especially in a performance styled venue. I also teach and offer Event and Performance Coaching. This Coaching is for auditions, special events, theatre, music, voice. It is usually on contractual basis tho can be combined with other lessons. Having done much performing as well as teaching, I am also available as a Solo Musician for playing special events, weddings, background music for many different kinds of events. Some vocal is also possible depending on event. I have sung as front band/soloist for Barry McGuire, also the Imperials and Dallas Holmes. Great fun, wonderful experiences---! Please email or call for more info.

    (2 reviews)

We are a team of mobile music teachers offering music lessons in your home. We currently have students in many areas of the KC metro, including Brookside, Mission Hills, Prairie Village, Leawood, Overland Park, and Olathe. All of us primarily teach piano and guitar, but we're well-rounded musicians and can teach the basics of a wide variety of instruments. Reading music is optional. What's your musical fingerprint? Our job is to figure that out. We teach in lots of musical styles, including rock, pop, jazz, bluegrass, classical, and traditional ethnic styles, while also incorporating ear training, improvisation, and songwriting. There are as many different types of students as there are styles of music. Learning to play can be creative and intuitive as well as logical and intellectual. There are many paths to musical success. We'll make learning fun for you by figuring out where your musical spark is, i.e., your "musical fingerprint." All of our instruction is customized to your learning style and your individual strengths.

Thumbtack Spotlight

TNotes Music Studio

(6 reviews)

At TNotes Music Studio, they believe that learning piano can be as much fun as playing it. They are known for their fun and effective teaching method that gets their students begin playing the piano with both hands right away.

What do you love about your job?

I love that the method I use makes it so easy to have folks playing piano with both hands so quickly! They come in wondering and hoping (especially the adults) and if they are are coachable, then I know they are going to playing soon and well!

Who or what inspired you to start your business?

I have always loved to play piano and for years, I performed and played in contemporary bands and did weddings and other events. So when I found this method, opening my own studio was a natural move! My students and what they are achieving, inspire me every day! The method is a bit different, but highly effective and lots of fun. They do call it playing the piano, after all!

    Traynor Piano

    (15 reviews)

Such an incredible experience .. from the moment that we met with Kevin and Angela, I could tell that they were incredibly talented teachers but also very professional in running their business. I started my piano lessons in my 40's and Angela never made me feel as though I wasn't giving it my best or should be moving at a faster pace. She was patient and encouraging all while keeping my busy mind on task. I am sure that I challenged her at times more than her younger students yet her quick laugh and gentle spirit kept the lesson light and moving forward. I always looked forward to my evenings with her, first as a teacher and then as a friend. I refer everyone that I know to her and I have yet to hear of an unhappy family.

    Aine Wendler Piano Studio

    (11 reviews)

I am an independent piano teacher working from my home-based studio in South Kansas City, MO. My location is convenient - very close to Leawood, Overland Park, Prairie Village, and all points mid-town and south in Kansas City, MO. I have over 30 years of experience teaching children ranging in age from 3 to 18 years old. While I work from the earliest pre-school ages through the advanced levels including competition playing and preparation for college and university music programs, my greatest joy is in beginning students. Starting a child in a solid, pedagogically sound manner and, then, nurturing the child through the years as they build skills, confidence, and self-esteem, is the joy that drives and motivates me. I will provide tuition pricing, either, in my response on the inquiry or in person, if you wish to call. I do not "sell time" so it is difficult for me to quote an hourly rate, or fixed price, in the Thumbtack system. I charge a yearly tuition that is divided into monthly installments and will be happy to explain it to you, upon request. Piano lessons can be one of the greatest enhancements to your child's educational experience and personal growth. I would love to discuss with you on how to bring the lifelong gift of making music to your child. Please call for information, and to set an appointment to see the studio and meet with me. I can answer any questions at that time. I will provide you with resume and references upon request.

My daughter(6 years old) has been receiving piano lessons from Jasmine for about 6 months now. She has learned so much from reading notes to hand postures to tempo. She is very patient with her even when i am not. Needless to say Jasmine is more than qualified but she also has the teaching quality that does not often come from talent and course study. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to learn the piano. Just watching her teach my daughter, i am picking it up at the same time which allows me to work with my daughter on our own time also.----Thanks Jasmine!!

Before taking lessons with Heidi, my technique was very poor and I struggled with piano fundamentals. Heidi helped me improve greatly and gave me easy techniques to implement into my practice regimen that caused me to improve immensely. I had always disliked classical music, but Heidi taught me to appreciate the music, and now I even listen to classical music for enjoyment. Overall, Heidi is positive, fun, and extremely talented. I was very pleased with her teaching method and always looked forward to my piano lessons. I am extremely grateful to have had her as a teacher.
