Jeff's method of fretboard visualization completely changed my bass playing after just a handful of lessons. Whether you are starting out on guitar or you have reached a platuea and need some help moving up to the next level, Play What You Dream is a great investment.

I am very lucky to have found Derrick. He has brought me a long way after several months. One of my goals when I retired was to learn the guitar, but I've learned so much more about music, music history, and music theory. He is very patient and supportive. He is classically trained, but expert in all genres, and answers all my questions with authority. I hope he will continue to teach me for a long time.

Fischer's Music Studio

    About

I have a very diversified studio. Because I grew up in a musical household, and because I've pursued it most of my adult life, I have the opportunity to offer lessons on multiple instruments. My studio is also diversified in that I've taught every age group, in both individual and group instruction. This gives me a breadth of ability to communicate to any age group. Stylistically, I've played and taught both contemporary and classical. For example, I've played violin in orchestras, and I've played on worship teams in churches. This depth of experience helps me communicate more effectively and relate at whatever level my students are at.

    About

Most guitar players think because they can play that they can teach. Being an instructor is much more than that. You need to be able to relate to the students. I always put myself in the shoes of my students to see where they are coming from and to help relate what we are working on. Most teachers will just show you something, assume you understand, then move on. I always make sure you understand the material and can apply it. Lessons always go at the pace of each student. There is no rush in any lesson.
