Gino was a pleasure to work with. He did an outstanding job all around. He was very polite and respectful of me and my kids. I would definitely use him again if any thing pops up. He moved us from our old home to our new one, then the completed a list of imperfections. We needed some framing, drywall, painting and he even fixed our leaky faucet. He finished all the work in great time and a wonderful finished product. I would advise anyone to hire Gino if they had to move or any home repairs.

Ill tell you why you should use Tech Solutions. Because their main operator Henry Myers is the nicest most genuine person ive ever met. He went above and beyond what i originally asked for. I had some viruses and needed driver updates. He really got the job done and even fixed my hinges on my computer screen. While in this area i will only use Henry from now on. His prices were perfect for my budget. Ive gone to best buys geek squad before and spent 200 dollars. They took a week and my computer went back to the problem. It only took Henry 1 day to fully fix my computer. He really set me up for success. I have no problem telling other people to go to him for help. Now my computer is working better than it did when i first had it. Hes brilliant and will explain patiently anything you have questions about. I couldnt be more satisfied with my experience with him and his small company. He truly is the man. I am not a fake person. I am real. You might think im fake because of how great of a review im giving but i promise you he really did the best job ever. He totally fixed my dell computer. He even picks your computer and drops it off for no charge. I was a little worried about that at first so i brought my computer over to his place of business. I felt so comfortable with him I had him drop it off at my house when he was done. 65 dollars to do what he did is such a reasonable price. He even takes debit or credit cards when he brings it to you the next day. Oh yea thats another thing i liked. You pay after everything is done. Brilliant. Hes truly trying to make everybody happy and give people a good experience with him and i really like that. Go Henry Go! Hes top 10 of my favorite people right now. lol. He really deserves all the business in the world and I hope he gets it. Thanks again Henry!

Tom Fairholm has done a lot of work on my house for several years including putting on a new roof after rebuilding (pitching) a part on the back of the house roof that was flat, building & installing kitchen cabinets, building & installing storm shutters, removed doorways & walls to open up kitchen/laundry room area, putting up drywall, painting and minor plumbing work to name a few. He built & installed exterior stairs & handrail for my daughter-in-law and also turned an open area in her house into a bedroom. I have been very pleased with his skill and professionalism and his trustworthiness. I highly recommend him.

I hired Mr. Rodrick and his crew to repair termite damage in my kitchen and several repairs outside. He was very thorough, neat and always there when promised. He was able to squeeze me in during the holidays when I had time off. They replaced rotten soffit and facia boards around my house, cleaned and repaired my gutters, repainted all of it, and added some columns on my carport. As it turned out, the damage from the termites was much worse than we thought. The entire wall had to be ripped out, window re-framed, cabinet taken down, new sheetrock and painting. I spent more money than I wanted, but we couldn't see the damage without opening the wall. For all the work they did, the price was right. I would definitely re-hire this company for any future work needed.

Santos was very professional and completed the door installation within the time frame he said. He had to remove an old door and install a new one fitting all of the hardware and drilling holes for the lock and handle. I would definitely use him again on other projects around the house.

Gustavo gave me an extremely solid deal on painting two rooms, undercutting the other few offers I got by a couple hundred bucks. He said it would likely take two days to complete the job, but instead I return home at 2 to find that he has completed a perfect painting job in both rooms and was nearly done moving all of the furniture back. We're already discussing him painting my bedroom, the dude works fast and the work is very high quality. 10/10

Eric Peyton did a great job on our graniflex floor in our basement apartment. His estimate did not come with bells and whistles (it was not computer generated). However, it was much lower than the other bids. Eric was punctual, very accommodating and did a professional job on our floor, leaving his work area tidy and clean after each work day. The floor is gorgeous and I couldn't be more pleased with Eric's work. He comes highly recommended.

I am looking forward to amending this review if we can get our renovation finished. The biggest problem started when the 3rd floor addition was not tarped properly and it rained on first floor which is our living and dining room. So, we had to completely clear those rooms out. Which has led to us only being able to live in two rooms of our house. They treated their mess up like another part of the renovation and they STILL have not replaced the floors NOR hooked up the AC to the be other side of the house. My kitchen is literally Hell’s Kitchen. With two small kids, who both finish school this week, I don’t think I have to tell you how hard it is to not have even the part of the house that WAS supposed to be functional throughout the renovation working. See photos. Also, my yard is still a mess. Full of rusty nails and a rusty saw blade and the dumpster that hasn’t been taken away yet. So can’t send the kids outside. Bill didn’t include the windows as part of our estimate - so be aware of that. I find that fascinating. He also is claiming not to “remember” the original plans to demolish the stairs and rebuild them - a $5000 part of the renovation - even after haggling with us about windows - he said “he doesn’t remember” that the stairs were part of the estimate. I would like that off the top of the price. So- I sincerely look forward to amending this review if they can get their stuff together and finish this up. As a counter to the negativity - the upstairs work is beautiful.

Triple A responded to my request to view the scope of work to paint the ceiling in my bedroom and touch up the line at the wall/trim. They responded and came the next day after working another job all day and worked with me on the price for my specific job. Mr. Allen was very professional and responsive at every step along the way and was on time too, which is very important to me. He and his partner did a thorough and swift job and were very willing to help with a small add on item I needed done too. They were very organized and cleaned up after they were done. I felt totally comfortable leaving them do the work unattended while I went to my own job. I recommend Commodore and Adam for any job you need.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

  • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
  • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
  • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
  • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
