I recommend Boostco Moving very highly. Mike and Dave did an excellent job moving items from one apartment and delivering those items (some large and cumbersome) to 3 different addresses in the rain. They were very courteous and a great value for all the work they did. I would definitely use them again!

This is the most friendly and helpful group of movers I've ever worked with! They showed up early and offered to help disassemble and move some things I hadn't even asked for their help with. And they were super quick and careful with my belongings. An attentive crew indeed. Would love to work with them again!

I was asking for help moving equipment out of an event, so it was a tight schedule and an unusual ask for a moving company. Gino and his team were easy to plan with, and great to work with!

The movers were a little late, but called in advanced to let me know. They kept me updated every step of the way. When they moved me I understood why they were late (bc they took there time with my precious furniture and made sure not damage anything ) . Very professional. If I need movers in the future, I will use them.

Nice Guys Movers are just as their name states, very nice and efficient movers. Three men were able to pack up all of my heavy furniture from my third story apartment and move everything into my new 2 story house. They had moving blankets and a covered trailer and were quick but careful with my belongings. Very down to earth and respectful people as well. I will recommend them to all of my friends and family.

Giovanny and his crew did a meticulous job moving our belongings. I can honestly say that his crew treated our things as if they were their own! They were professional, courteous, and conscientious. Abba Movers arrived with all of the equipment needed to make this a smooth, carefully executed move. No scratches, dents, or breakage! Great people, wonderful work.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much should you tip furniture movers?

Moving furniture is hard work and potentially dangerous unless you’re properly equipped. For anyone not ready to handle their heavy oak armoire alone, professional furniture movers can safely and efficiently move your items to another room in your house or across town as needed. The national average cost to hire heavy furniture movers is $150-$200 per hour. This rate could include multiple furniture movers working as a team to move items such as beds, armoires, billiards tables, pianos, shelves, tables, entertainment centers and more. Hourly rates can vary by region. If your furniture movers have arrived on time, done a great job, kept your home and belongings protected from scratches and dings, and completed the move as planned, a tip will be greatly appreciated. Moving companies suggest approximately 10 percent of the total bill as gratuity for those doing local moving jobs, which is also a good guideline for tipping heavy furniture movers. If the total bill for heavy moving was $100 and two workers were onsite, consider giving them $10 total, or $5 each for a job well done.
