We first met Janet while trying to diagnose my son’s reading/phonics difficulties. Her patience, tactics and the program she used had him reading above grade level within 8 months. Since we had such great success we recently contacted her about a writing program she had introduced to us. We are currently in this writing class where we’ve seen some great improvement in his reading test discussion answers etc. He always says the “class” was fun. I’d say that’s the most amazing part...making learning something that’s difficult actually fun.

I am dedicated to each child and family that I work with. I believe in teaching children, not subject matter. With that being said, I individualize instruction depending on what he/she needs. I am calm, loving, and have a reputation for success?
Helping others and inspiring others to enjoy reading and writing is what gives me the motivation to continuously help others to do the same. I am currently a teacher in the River Parishes, a 2014 LSU graduate, and a current masters student at South Eastern.
I am very enthusiastic, intuitive, dependable, warm, caring and attentive to my student's self-esteem and emotional well-being while also being demanding, persevering, and firm in making sure that they are doing most if not all of the work by themselves with help from me as needed.
I am currently working on my certification in elementary education. I have have taught middle school mathematics. However, this past school year, I taught an elementary ELA class while receiving in-depth training in building reading fluency. I can ensure improvement with your child's reading. Also, I can help build your child's grammar and writing skills.
I truly enjoy being a part of students making significant gains in their academic goals. Progress reports will be sent home with students.
