I have met Manon in the fall of 2015 when she was looking for a position as a French teacher at L’Union Française, a school for adults, promoting the French language and culture in New Orleans. In the summer of 2016 Manon was given the opportunity to teach an advanced level of French for a class of six adults students. Based on my experience with Manon, I can say without the shadow of a doubt that she was one of the most naturally talented teacher with whom I have had the opportunity to work as a school’s academic director. Manon approaches her French class with an astute sense of responsibility, takes her work to the highest level of formal and conceptual refinement. She is always prepared for her class and has a methodical creative process; she develops her concepts thoughtfully, creates interesting lessons, and actively involves her students in class discussions. Her background in the creative arts contributes immensely to a broader communication of sophisticated concepts in language and culture. Manon was always on time for her classes and the respect for her students was mutually shared. Beginning with January 2017, Manon will continue to teach at L’Unon Française an advanced level class.

My wife and I are still in the early phases of a multi-week tutoring program in Spanish. We have found Srta. Castro to be great to work with. She has a good understanding what we are trying to accomplish and brings an enthusiasm that makes the learning process fun . Our experience has been most positive and we would highly recommend her.

About

I have a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, as well as a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Loyola University New Orleans. I have taken courses in vocal repertoire and pedagogy, and I feel comfortable teaching students with all levels of musical and knowledge of singing. I take a number of approaches to singing depending on the needs of every student. With some people I am very technical, and with others I like to take a more holistic, confidence-based approach.

About

I have been in education for over 20 years. I have worked with ages from infantry to adults. I enjoy teaching, modeling, illustrating, and demonstrating all I have learned and experienced through my many years in this field. I began as a caretaker of children and have progressed all the way to an administrator of a school. I strongly believe that with the amount of continuing education and experience I have, I am able to offer many lessons, strategies, and ideas that will help anyone wanting to become more educated or master their talents.

About

I am a certified Spanish teacher in Louisiana, but I'm not employed right now. I am certified to teach K-12 Spanish, and I have a master's degree in Spanish from the University of Texas. I can do French up to middle school and English on all levels. I am available and ready to start. Whatever is the content you're looking for, I am there to serve you in my area. If your need is grammar or conversation, we can accomplish it together. I am a black Jamaican. I left my country and traveled extensively to Central American Spanish countries, there I immersed myself in the culture and practice of the Spanish language. Upon coming to the States, I did my master's and have taught for seven years between the border of Mexico and El Paso, TX with the EPSD school district. My last job was with the Riverside Academy in Reserve Louisiana where I taught Spanish from grades 9 to 12. Apart from that, I remain loyal to my God, my family, and my country.

I teach in a communicative based style that is attenuated to each student's learning styles and types of intelligence. My techniques teach language in a meaningful, communicative way, as opposed to the traditional behaviorist methods.
