I am so impressed my my son's tutor, Ezra Gouvea! He has been helping my son with Algebra 2 and we couldnt be more pleased!
I must say I am extremely impressed with the quality of service from the first phone call through the tutoring sessions. It is a night and day difference between Arbor and other companies around. These are the best tutors in the business PERIOD.
My daughter was failing math. After just a few sessions shes not only getting A's but shes learning math at a higher grade level. He is really good at evaluating what it is the student is not understanding and presenting it to the student in a way that they do understand. Great tutor.
Rebecca Oscar: “Trevor is a very capable tutor who extended his expertise to my children in an organized and thoughtful fashion. The materials he uses to teach writing are strong and established classical methods and his patience and kindness creates a valuable learning environment. Trevor is an approachable educator who is supportive and offers feedback to both parent and child. I highly recommend Trevor for anyone looking to strengthen their child's academic performance."
Dr James is a great teacher! He is very passionate about what he does and is extremely knowledgeable. He was my undergraduate astrophysics professor and I assist him with stellar evolution research. I highly recommend him for teaching/tutoring as he keeps your attention, makes complex subjects awesome to learn, teaches neat French phrases and what not to say because it actually means something else, and is quick to respond to questions.
Lena was my English tutor. She helped me improve my English SAT scores, which helped me get accepted to an excellent university. Lena was always professional, patient, and reliable. During our sessions, Lena encouraged and motivated me to do my best. I am truly grateful for having had Lena as my tutor. She also inspired me to pursue a career in education. I highly recommend Lena to anyone who is seeking an English tutor.
Lisa is one of the best writing tutors that I have ever had. She is smart, kind, and believes in every single one of her students. I first started working with Lisa to prep for the ACT. She always believed in me and encouraged me to keep working towards my goals. After getting through the ACT, Lisa helped me with my college application and supplemental essays. She helped me to get my vision into solidified and ideas. She has a hyper focus on making sure that her students voice is heard. Her respect and confidence in me is what made me believe in myself and my work.

There are a number of things I do that stand out. First, I'm not out to make a big profit from this. You get the amount of service you need, and meet the goals that are realistic, at a reasonable price. There is nobody, and I do mean NOBODY! who can teach some learning disabled kids better, faster, and to the best of their abilities than I can. I have recommendations from professional peers, a recent supervisor, and parents that will tell you that, time and time again. I can - when conditions are right - teach people how to tell which hand is which, In ONE TO FOUR MINUTES. These are severely dyslexic people, who have NEVER been able to tell their right hand from their left, through ages 11 to 21. Sound impossible? It's real. I travel to you, unless you'd rather meet somewhere central, like a local library. So much of what you pay goes to car expense. To balance costs, I use longer tutoring sessions of 1 to 2 hours per session, and fewer sessions, when possible. When you can't sit that long, we take short breaks and / or have shorter sessions anyway.
We adopt a systematic and in-depth approach to teaching and learning which is geared towards enabling high school students to succeed and excel. I provide individualized reading enrichment and reading intervention tutoring services to students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 6. I develop reading lessons based on the student's learning needs and interests. I have expertise in assessing children in reading and in using this information to guide my instruction. Following every lesson I provide detailed feedback about the lesson to the family. I also offer suggestions for reading at home. I also combine reading instruction with writing lessons.
As I already describe it, I want to make the teaching easy and understandable to everyone whatever you had a few lessons before or you are a freshman. I am going to start with you; when you get to a certain level, you might be able to continue with me or without. This is very important when you learn it the right way: alphabet (vowels and consonant), syllabus, phrases, lecture courante (text), dictation, and grammatical analysis, preposition, pronouns, subject, verbs, complements, vocabulary, present tense, past tense, preterit, past perfect, the unconditional future, gerund, past participle, its accord with the direct complement, exclamative pronouns, interrogative pronouns, circumstancial complement (where, when, how, and why), translation of who, which, whom, whose, demonstrative adjectives: ce, ces, cet, cette and possessive adjectives: son, sa ses, ton, ta tes, le la, les, leurs; the possessive case, logical analysis, syntax, different parts of a sentence, of a speech, elocution, description, narration, redaction, etc.
